Outside the Eagles arena:

Messi jumps ahead of Mo Salah in the European Golden Shoe race following his 30th hat-trick in LA liga history.

Messi - 32 goals [4 games left]

Salah - 31 goals [2 games left]

The Alien called Messi is bent on denying Salah on the European front. Hopefully Salah takes home the prize on the EPL front ahead of that wicked striker called Kane.

Sir Andrew444 and Sir BascoVanVeli, who will you prefer to face Messi at the WC in goal for Nigeria? Ezenwa or Ospina? grin

All 3 will participate as hosts. There are rules as to which countries in the other football associations get the remaining 5 slots. Also there is a likelihood that one of the 3 hosts will also qualify as CONCACAF gold cup champs

Modified
Let me add that both Japan and Korea played in the 2001 edition. Korea qualified as co-hosts. Japan qualifid as AFC champs/co-hosts. Or ther might just be a play off among the hosts.

Wilfred Ndidi Undergoes Scan, Leicester City In Touch With Nigerian Federation

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has undergone a scan after suffering a serious injury in his team's 5-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, and is now awaiting the results of the medical examination.

The Foxes medical team has contacted the Nigeria Football Federation and informed them that the defensive midfielder will have recovered before the start of the 2018 World Cup.
'' Ndidi suffered a hamstring injury, he has done a scan and is waiting for feedback from the doctors,'' a top source told
allnigeriasoccer.com.
''The focus is on how to get him ready for the World Cup, Leicester City say they are going to do their best. He is very determined to play at the World Cup.
''The Leicester City physiotherapist is in touch with the Nigeria Football Federation and informed them that he will be fit before the start of the World Cup.''

The former Racing Genk starlet had pushed himself to the limit before this setback, playing 107 games in total for clubs and country in the last two seasons.
Apart from Ndidi, Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr is also sweating on the fitness of Henry Onyekuru, Joel Obi, Tyronne Ebuehi and Leon Balogun before he announces a 35-man provisional roster for the 2018 World Cup.

Alex Iwobi Joins Growing List Of Injured Super Eagles Players, Suffers Hamstring Problem

Alex Iwobi has joined the growing list of injured Super Eagles players, with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirming post-match that the winger suffered a hamstring problem in their 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

As everyone saw, the Hale End Academy product played through the pain barrier against the Red Devils, but could not be substituted because Wenger had used all of his three substitutes.

Ahead of the trip to the Spanish capital on Wednesday for the Europa League semifinal second leg against Atlético de Madrid, the Frenchman is also sweating on the fitness of David Ospina and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

''Mkhitatryan I took off because he had a little knock on his knee again, the same thing, just looking at him in the dressing room,'' Wenger told reporters.

''Ospina has a rib problem and Alex Iwobi has a hamstring problem.
''We’ll see how everyone recovers because Thursday will come around very quickly.''

Wenger added that Arsenal will continue monitoring Iwobi in the next forty eight hours, and by Tuesday he will know whether or not to name the winger to the roster for the trip to Spain.

The 21-year-old has appeared in 36 games in all competitions this season for the Gunners, scoring 2 goals and providing 7 assists.

Give the league a chance our players are trying their best but Nigeria is corrupt and this has crept into our football. Clubs feel like if they don't settle the ref for their home games the other teams will when they go away. Other problems are distance, ethnicity and a win at all cost attitude.

CAF Ban Nigerian Ref Ogabor Over Attempted Bribery, Order SAFA To Apologise To NFF

 1 April 29, 2018 4:28 pm

Nigerian referee Joseph Ogabor has been banned for one year by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for his involvement in attempting to manipulate the centre referee,Victor Gomes, for the Total CAF Confederation Cup play-off round first leg clash between Plateau United of Nigeria and USM Alger from Algeria played on 7 April 2018 in Lagos.

According to reports in the South African media, Times Live Gomes rejected a $30,000 (about N10.8 million) bribe to fix the CAF Confederation Cup match between Plateau United and Algeria’s USM Alger.

According to a statement on the official website of CAF, the Referees Committee of the body also warned Plataea United to refrain from the practice of hospitality gifts which tend to create the wrong impression.

“The CAF Referees Committee on 28 April 2018, has confirmed the recommendation of the CAF Disciplinary Board to ban Nigeria referee Joseph Ogabor from any official mission for one year for attempted match manipulation with respect to the Total CAF Confederation Cup 1/16th round first leg between Plateau United (Nigeria) and USM Alger (Algeria) played on 7 April 2018 in Lagos,” the statement reads.

“The decision follows investigations conducted and evidence submitted by the South African match officials of the said match, who were contacted by Ogabor to provide “technical assistance” to the Nigerian team.

“Also, Plateau United was cautioned to refrain from the practice of hospitality gifts which tend to create wrong impression.

“In a related development, the South African Football Association have been ordered to render an apology to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after investigations proved there was no evidence of whatsoever of any official of the NFF regarding an allegation of US$30,000 bribe.”

Why is Chris Giwa trying to do us evil na? Can't he wait till after the world cup to resolve whatever issue he still has with Pinnick and the NFF? why try and create distraction and a potential FIFA sanction during this period?

Chaaiiiii... Olorun! See question bikonu... The thing get as e be oooo... We both know say Both Korea and Japan played in the 2001 Fifa Confederations cup abi... So this one fit get three groups sef...lol... Or maybe, although unlikely, all three will play in two groups alongside the five continental champions (Africa, Europe, Asia, South America, Oceania). But what about the world champs? Except one of the continental champs is a also a world champ anyway? Happened to Spain and France.... So a three group scenario is possible.

**modified** Didn't add North america/Concacaf because I assume the champs will come naturally from among USA, Mexico, or Canada. But hey... wild scenario.. what if none of them takes it? wink

And come ooo... This your wicked question come be your first post for NL... Biaaa Nwokem... This your entrance ehn .....

actually the Fifa confederation may not be existing by then again, even that of 2021 is in doubt as FIFA Is planning to introduce a bigger club world cup competition which will hold every 4 years I. e a year by the world cup year.

also their is a new trend in international football, Nation's League will soon be the new international competition qualifiers instead of qualifiers or friendlies, with the nation's league, teams will be grouped in divisions with relegation and promotion to be used just like various leagues around.

now FIFA is planning to start theirs by 2021, Uefa will start theirs this September Concacaf will start theirs also this year, other confederations like Caf and AFC have not shown interest in joining the trend of creating nations league for their continents and confederations.

this will gave small nations like San Marino, Guyana, Comoros and the likes more competitive games than before and also reduce the schedule for numbers of games to he played by the players including that of big nations
