It won’t stop me from being an ardent follower of the league. But I can’t stop saying the obvious.

BascoVanVeli:

Give the league a chance our players are trying their best but Nigeria is corrupt and this has crept into our football. Clubs feel like if they don't settle the ref for their home games the other teams will when they go away. Other problems are distance, ethnicity and a win at all cost attitude.

Wilfred Ndidi Undergoes Scan, Leicester City In Touch With Nigerian Federation

Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has undergone a scan after suffering a serious injury in his team's 5-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, and is now awaiting the results of the medical examination.

The Foxes medical team has contacted the Nigeria Football Federation and informed them that the defensive midfielder will have recovered before the start of the 2018 World Cup.
'' Ndidi suffered a hamstring injury, he has done a scan and is waiting for feedback from the doctors,'' a top source told
allnigeriasoccer.com.
''The focus is on how to get him ready for the World Cup, Leicester City say they are going to do their best. He is very determined to play at the World Cup.
''The Leicester City physiotherapist is in touch with the Nigeria Football Federation and informed them that he will be fit before the start of the World Cup.''

The former Racing Genk starlet had pushed himself to the limit before this setback, playing 107 games in total for clubs and country in the last two seasons.
Apart from Ndidi, Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr is also sweating on the fitness of Henry Onyekuru, Joel Obi, Tyronne Ebuehi and Leon Balogun before he announces a 35-man provisional roster for the 2018 World Cup.

That’s the mentality. They don’t mind sabotaging the country for personal gain.

I thought there is a rule by FIFA that bans government interference in football?

Why is Chris Giwa trying to do us evil na? Can't he wait till after the world cup to resolve whatever issue he still has with Pinnick and the NFF? why try and create distraction and a potential FIFA sanction during this period?

ROUND-UP: Simy Hits Serie A Brace As Uzoho Keeps 13th Clean Sheet; Balogun Out
April 29, 2018 10:48 pm

Nigerian striker Simeon Nwankwo scored twice for Crotone who smashed Sassuolo 4-1 in a Serie A clash on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeriacom.

Simy, as he is known in Italy, doubled his side’s lead in the 16 th minute and sealed the win in the 89 th minute of the encounter to take his tally to six league goals. The game was the 25-year-old’s 21st Serie A game this season.

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, kept his 13 th clean sheet for RC Deportivo Fabril who defeated Rapido de Bouzas 2-0 on Sunday.

The game was the 23 rd of the season for the 19-yearold shot-stopper. He has conceded 17 goals so far this term for RC Deportivo Fabril who are second in the Spanish Segunda B division, the third tier.

In the Netherlands, Rio 2016 striker Umar Sadiq was introduced in the 45 th minute for Mitchell te Vrede for NAC Breda who defeated SC Heerenveen 3-0. The game was Sadiq’s 12 th in the Eredivisie since joining the club on a six months loan from AS Roma. He has five goals to his name.

In Germany, Anthony Ujah was an unused substitute for FSV Mainz who defeated RB Leipzig 3-0 to boost their chances of surviving relegation. His compatriot, Leon Balogun, was not included in the matchday squad due to a rib injury. Ujah has made five appearances for Mainz while Balogun has 14 Bundesliga games under his belt this season.

In Austria, Stephen Eze scored twice for Sturm Graz who defeated Rapid Wien 4-2. Eze was replaced in the 78 th minute by Fabian Schubert.

In Norway, Aremu Afeez bagged his second yellow card in action for IK Start who lost 1-0 to FK Haugesund. The game was Aremu’s seventh for the club since he joined in January.

In Sweden, Chima Akas featured for the entire duration for Kalmar FC’s 3-0 win over Malmoe FF.

At the Petersburg Stadium in Russia, Ahmed Musa fired blanks for CSKA Moscow in Sunday’s goalless draw away to Zenit St. Petersburg. Musa has scored three goals in eight league games for CSKA Moscow.

Alampasu Hopes For World Cup Spot In Super Eagles
April 30, 2018 9:30 am

Feriense goalkeeper, Dele Alampasu, says it will be “a dream come true” for him to make Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup final squad, but admits it will be tough, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Alampasu has not been called up to the Super Eagles squad in a year but remains confident of his abilities if given the chance he could gate-crash into the squad for the World Cup.

“Everyone is looking forward to the list that will be released soon and for me I hope I’m included,” Alampasu told CSN .

“Making the provisional list is one and included in the World Cup squad is another but that will be a fulfilling dream for me and I pray so but it will be tough.”

The 21-year-old, has not featured for Feriense this season but remains a squad player at the club. He faces stiff competition from the likes of Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Francis Uzoho, Daniel Akpeyi and Dele Ajiboye.

Mainz defender Leon Balogun a target for Huddersfield

Mainz defender Leon Balogun is a target for Huddersfield Town.

The Sun says the Terriers are ready to sign German defender Balogun from Mainz in their first swoop for next season.

Balogun, 29, is a free agent at the end of his contract and is set to join the Terriers after having talks over the move.

The Berlin-born defender plays centre half but can also turn out at full back and would join the German colony at the club.

It should be remembered that huddersfield played with Klopp at Mainz so the connection is there.

Here are a few nuggets for your Monday morning:

Messi is the FIRST player to ever score 30 or more La Liga goals in seven different seasons.
Can this record ever be broken?

A few more nuggets to spice up your Monday morning (enjoy):

Messi's evolution into a creative midfielder and a striker at the same time is evidenced by the stats: he leads La Liga this season in goals (32 goals), assists (12), chances created (81) and secondary assists (passes leading directly to an assist: nine
).

Seriously folks, is that man really a human being or an alien

It's really annoying to see someone who's yet to play a single game for his football club demanding to be invited to the national team.

If you're good, prove it first by playing for your club side ... that would convince the national team coaches of your quality and the need to invite you. It's only in Nigeria that you'd see a player who's yet to play an official match for his football club demanding a national team invite!

BS upon BS!!
