Hello shobadesamuel -

The bank teller is correct, the MRV fees for both B and F visas are the same. Please ensure that you select the correct category on the DS-160 you fill out.

shobadesamuel:
Dear LagosNIV/AbujaNIV,
please I have an issue with the payment category for my visa application.
According to my bank teller, i requested that i would like to pay for the F(student academic) category but the bank cashier made a mistake and paid for the B(business/tourist category).
I logged a complaint but the cashier told me it doesn't matter as both categories required same amount.
Please i would like to confirm this information and the next step to take in order to correct this if necessary.
Thank you.

Good day VO, thank you devoting time to answer questions on this platform.

Please VO, I am a young Lady in my twenties but married with very young kids. I am very intelligent and look forward to getting to the summit of my career and I believe having kids shouldn't be an hindrance to achieving my set goals.
In order to bag the most envied US masters degree, I sat for the GRE recently and scored well above 300, I applied to about 4 Universities in the US and got admits. I even got the Dean's excellence scholarship that reduces my tuition by 50% in one of the top 100 universities because my GPA was around 3.34/4.
I have more than enough finance to cover all expenses BUT I keep getting feedback about the F-1 and F-2 visas that gives me so much concern.

I have a very young set of twins that require so much motherly care. My Hubby is very supportive of my goals and is willing to care for the kids while I focus on my studies as he is very sure this degree will enable us expand our Business in Nigeria and set up a New consultancy firm.
Most persons say I won't be granted a Visa if my family will accompany me to the US and that they should apply later after I arrive. I feel so sad about this as my family is very important to me and I can't go for any program without being certain that my babies would be fine. I have searched online for cases of f1 students accompanied by f2 dependents but couldn't find much.
Please if true, this is not fair... I think I should be accessed on my qualifications for a masters program, how well I would perform and the impact of my studies on my Business and not based on my marital status. I am already thinking of exploring other options for studies but I feel bad that I can't acquire a US degree not because I'm not qualified but because I have young babies I have to care for.

Good day to you and thanks for the help you provide on this thread.

My family's F2 Visa was approved on March 27th, 2018 at the US Embassy in Abuja. I am planning their entry to the US by end of July. This is to allow me complete my current apartment lease in the US which will end first week of July and then rent a family-type apartment. Also the kids in Nigeria need to complete their academic session which would end in July.
However, I heard about the 90-day rule which requires visa holders to enter the US not later than 90 days from the date of visa approval. March 27th to end of July is surely more than 90 days. Does this rule affect F2 visa holders? Are they suppose to enter the US not later than 90 days?

Thank you.

NB: Program start and end date on my I20 is August 2017 till May 2022. Same also for Family's I20s.

Abuja/Lagos VO,

I applied for a us visa (b1/b2) alongside my family in 2016 and got the visa. At the visa interview i, i was honest about the purpose of my visit being vacation and childbirth. After bring cross examined by the vo, i was issued the visa with my wife and two year old daughter.
In 2017, i visited the US and stayed for two weeks as i had to return back to Nigeria while my wife & daughter stayed back for 11weeks to birth our 2nd child. We had indicated during the visa interview that i will be staying for two weeks while my wife and daughter would stay for 11weeks. We had our child in US and paid our medical bills fully and obtained receipts for them.
I recently applied for drop box to renew our visas which expired recently. I got a 221g visa follow up appointment (yellow form) requesting we reappear for an interview with a visa interview with a vo. Please what could be the reason for the interview and do i need do at the interview?

Anticipating your kind response

Fred

Please, help, as a Nigerian and a Ph.D. exchange student from Nigeria to Denmark.

While my stay in Denmark is still valid, I got invitation for a sponsored conference in US.

I was trying to apply for US VISA, the platform is directing me back to either Lagos or Abuja in Nigeria for VISA interview. Though, I updated the earlier application form.

What do I do to be interviewed in Denmark for US VISA?. Please boss, help me.

Hello VO,

Please i'm asking this question on behalf of a friend. She just got a US B1/B2 visa in March. She however, just noticed her passport is missing (she isn't sure if it was stolen or just misplaced).

She's planning to get a new passport but she wants to know what to do as regards the US visa she just got and how to get it back.

Thank you.

Hello,
Please I am inquiring about my moms non immigrant visa renewal. She was granted a 2 years visa that was suppose to expire on September of 2018. Since we want her to visit the US by July of 2018, we sent her passport to the US embassy Abuja for visa renewal, though, through the drop box. On picking up the passport from the UPS Dropbox office, we noticed that the original visa on the passport was cancelled with the inscription ''CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE" and there were no other issued visa on the passport nor a correspondence stating why the visa was cancelled. Please advise, should we re-apply for a visa interview?

Hi guys,

please I have a situation and would appreciate any feedback given. I recently did a drop box to renew my visa, I my wife and daughter and we have been called in for an interview. has anyone experienced this recently?

In our previous 2 visits we had stayed just under 3 months on both occasions, the second time was to have our second baby while the first was due to an elongated leave from work that my wife got. I run my own company so I was able to handle the affairs from there. My question is a number of persons have advised that our visa renewal application would be denied if we tell them we stayed almost 3 months due to the leave my wife got from work.

Please house, what are your thoughts? I'd appreciate responses and opinions.
thank you.

Dear VO,

I have a valid BI/B2 USA visa (2nd visa obtained so far since 2014 and i visited USA twice using the first visa) which will expire in last week of September 2018. Due to my busy work schedule since 2016, i have not been able to use this current visa. My little brother will be graduating in October 2018 and i plan to attend his convocation + 2 weeks of vacation.

Question:

1) Please what are the chances of achieving a successful visa renewal despite not using it b4 expiration?

2) Do you advise i use the visa now with the intention to renew it upon return from the USA so i can attend my brother's convocation?

Thanks. You response will be highly appreciated.
