1. VETASSES will not take secondary school teaching as a consultancy experience. She should get at least one year claimable consultancy experience to have a very high chance for a positive assessment.

2. She should get the paper documents from the school such as offer letter, payslip, superannuation. You need at least one third party evidence.

3. Go to the exams and records department or the section responsible for transcript in your school. Go with your original copy and photocopy. The school will stamp the photocopy as a copy of the original, put in envelope and also stamp the envelope before sending to vetasses.

I am not sure of your permutation to use teaching as a consultancy service. If she gets a positive assessment, you can check the accounting bodies to see if you did the required courses in your program. If you did them, you can get positive assessment, this will add 5marks to your spouse's 65 making 70. You have high chance of being invited.

Thanks sir. Just further clarification on the use of teaching as consultancy:

Vetassess website describes the relevant tasks of an agricultural consultant as follows:

In Australia, there are currently no legal requirements for licensing or registration for the occupation of Agricultural Consultant. An agricultural consultant generally provides advice to clients as an external contracted service. Clients may include farmers, growers, landowners, conservation organisations and public bodies. As an agricultural consultant, you would usually consult on either technical or
business matters. The consultancy may include advice on agricultural systems, crop and pasture science, livestock, nutrition / breeding, or improvement of production, processing and distribution of farm products.
Tasks include:
 Collecting and analysing data and samples of produce, feed, soil and other factors affecting production
 Advising farmers and farm Managers on techniques for improving the production of crops and livestock, and alternative agricultural options
 Advising farmers on issues such as livestock and crop disease, control of pests and weeds, soil improvement, animal husbandry
and feeding programs
 Developing procedures and techniques for solving agricultural problems and improving the efficiency of production

Now my point is, as someone who taught agric in a secondary school (JSS1 to SS2) even if it was technically not consulting, she was imparting knowledge to students on most of these areas above at an intermediate level. Also consider that this would also have included practical training (managing a school farm etc). So if we can as much as possible tailor this experience to meet the requirement in our application, do we not stand a chance?

My 65 point permutation is as follows:
Age -30 points
PTE - Hopeful for 20 points
Qualification -15 points

I have not included any point for work experience (because its not really up to 3 years), however i need to demonstrate relevant work experience to get Vetassess give us a positive assessment. Thanks bro

It seems there is nothing you can do about your education points so lets look at other things - Experience, English and Partner point ( If married)

Current point

Age....25
Degree----10
Work Exp----5
English---10 (IELTS 7,7,8.5,8.5)

Total was 50..

- Possible point -

Age....25
Degree----10

Work Exp----15

- as you already know 8 yrs of experience is required for this point, ACS need to remove 5 points from your experience. The solution is

1) re- package your reference letter so that the description is according to the ANZSCO description I can help to review it when you are ready. The 2 years will then be acknowledged.

2) You will need to include pre-graduation part time( at least 20 hours per week) experience for 3 years before your graduation date.

English---15

- Give PTE a try. With this your IELTS score you will get 20 points in PTE

[b]Partner Point
- 5 points

- I don't know if you are married or not but it is worth exploring. You can get 5 points from this.
even if you are not married you can use de facto relationship if the relationship is more than a year and u get some evidence to show that it is indeed more than a year.

Total will be 75

Just keep pushing bro, as you can see it is still possible.

Also. I understand that the financial year 2018 - 2019 begins from 1st of July 2018 and that a number of changes might occur (a number of occupations may be taken out of the mltssl). Last year about 200 occupations were taken out. Based on this is it advisable to proceed still or do we just wait to see the new list? (that is for those of us still in the early stages who might be impacted by changes if they occur)

I think u are correct azy123.....review your assessment(follow what he has already explained), add work experiences pre graduation(I.e internships).....try and improve your English scores(you should ace pte with the scores you have in ielts)....once those two variables are worked on your scores should be higher....it will take some money from your pocket and time but it's worth it....good luck!

Well!!!!!!!!! this is a knife that cuts both ways.
It depends on the applicant's scenario,
you can either make your move now or wait till July. there are no written rules here

@Alex Band 7 is good but while waiting till July i will advice you free of charge grin to aim for band 8.... it can do a lot of wonders

True. It's a dicey situation. One can wait till after July 1 and still be safe if occupation remains on the list. On the other hand, one can proceed Now and be cut off especially for people whose occupation is being assessed by VETASSESS and or have Nigerian degrees as FAST TRACK is almost impossible for them. Imagine if one's assessment is caught up in VETASSESS' REGULAR processing time of 10 weeks, then comes July 1 and the occupation is taken off the list cry

Meanwhile, no ITA yet let alone Visa application lodged undecided (I guess it is until after this has happened that one becomes entirely secured despite the removal of occupation). Please correct my notion if I am wrong. Cheers

I don't think VETASSES will accept this your theory o.

I have an alternate theory:
What about your wife doing a postgraduate diploma with NTI and assess as a secondary school teacher?

What do you think? I've not really researched this option, but I think it may be better than wasting money with VETASSES

This is Australian PR thread and not for student visa. POF is not really needed for Australian PR, but you may be asked by some states to show it and it is not really an issue here. So, I advice you make your case clear so someone can help you out.

welll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,

It totally depends upon which visa category you are applying for.

Talking about skilled migration visas, there are three important visa categories namely,

· Australia Skilled Independent visa subclass 189

· Australia nominated visa subclass 190

· Australia skilled regional provisional subclass 489

If you are applying for subclass 189, there is no requirement to have minimum funds which you need to show in Australia for skilled Independent subclass 189 visa.

But, it is best advised to have a basic amount of AUD$ 10,000 when you land in Australia because you may need money for house rent, food and travel expense etc.

However, if you are applying for Australia state nominated visa subclass 190 which is a state nomination visa, you might be asked by the Australian Immigration officials to show funds.
Every state under state nomination program has the different immigration requirements.
Each state having its own eligibility criteria ,
Some states like Victoria and New South Wales don’t ask for POF
whereas states like Western Australia, Queensland, requires POF evidence ,
South Australia requires you to declare POF (i.e no evidence required, Just say you have it).

You can check the website of the states nominating your occupation for comprehensive details.

So when one scales through the state nomination stage, does home affairs bother you with POF again?
Also what happens in that stage asides medicals and police clearance?
