carixma:

Normally i don't usually have time to write long-thing like this, but i felt i should share these knowledge i have concerning d business

CHALLENGES YOU WILL FACE AS A JJC IN UBER AND TAXIFY BUSINESS

1. Lastma, Police Vio and Road safety: U will meet them on d road. They will stop you and check your particulars and if u violate any law especially traffic law u go pay fine from d money wey u earn dat day. Make sure u carry all d necessary documents required by police and study all d necessary road signs. e.g No U -Turn, One way, etc.

2. Poor internet network on your phone: Issues with fare calculation. Sometimes network can be very poor. At d end of d trip Uber or Taxify app might not calculate your money well, d rider will end up underpaying u. But u can always report to Uber or Taxify when such error occur. You can take wireless Internet wifi along with u, should Incase u notice no network.

3. Aggressive Lagos drivers, danfo and Okada riders: u will definitely have minor scratches and dents on your car. You cannot dodge them. Okada riders will hit your car and side mirror, expecially in densely populated areas like oshodi, Ketu, Ajangbadi, egbeda, idimu, onigbongbo, idumota, iyana paja, Abule egba, orile, okomaiko, agege, ojota, mile12 and so on. I will suggest u have a standby painter and panel beater that will always fix your car when such thing occurs.

4. Rude riders or passengers: they will talk to u anyhow especially Ladies (Oloshos and runs girls), but you must be professional and do not fight or insult them , that will lead to low rating and permanent deactivation. They are likely to report you and accuse you of what you didn’t do. Eg Dorcas fapson and Taxify driver. Google and read d story, is online.

5. Fraudulent Riders: They will not pay u at end of the trip. They will sha look for a way to avoid paying u.Eg I forgot my ATM card at home, send me your account number I will transfer the money to your account, pls park I want to use the ATM and they come back telling u there is no money in their account, some might even runaway from there. grin

6. Interpersonal Relationship skills: some riders especially ladies notice say you be handsome driver they would come and sit in the front want you to chat them up. If u be guy wey no get correct yarns. Omo nah low rating O! So u gast dey inform and keep abreast with trends and latest gossips and news in town. That is what they like. If possible u entertain them. ( this advice nah for handsome drivers only) grin

7. Good customer service: Ensure you treat riders with respect. Speak to them in a polite manner. Don’t be rude and arrogant . Make them feel comfortable And make sure you have mints, pen and paper, Aux cable for music if your car has auxiliary output, savet or tissue paper, umbrella and so on. At any point in time they might want to request for it, and if you don’t have it nah low rating.

8.Outfit and Looks: do not dress like person wey dey suffer. Dress well and look neat always. Ensure to use good perfume and roll on. Brush your teeth well to avoid unnecessary mouth odouriferous smell in d car when A.C is on. grin Failure to do the following will get u low rating.

9. Armed Robbers, Kidnappers and Ritualist: we heard several cases of Taxify and Uber driver killed and their car snatched away from them. If u must work at night, u gat to be very carefull and shine ya eye wella. If u go "nogere la san" dem go Kpai u. So be vigilant and at alert. smiley

10.Traffic: Traffic jam in Lagos can be on a lock down sometimes. It will surely affect your earnings for d day, you won’t be able to do more trips and it will also exhaust your energy and make you feel tired. Make sure you have pain
killer in your car. For headache, leg pain, back pain and so on.

11.Bad Road:There a lot pot holes, ditch and bumps on lagos road. It will certainly depreciate your car faster unless you carried out proper and regular maintenance and servicing on your car.

12.Village people:; If you notice that village people are following u, Don’t underestimate their powers grin. u gat to always pray before u hit d road for business. You can always subdue their powers and keep them in check with ya prayers be u Muslim or Christian or whatever

13.Low Trip request or Lack of sales: some days can be so dry. U hardly get enough request to make good profit but don’t get discourage. You can covered up for that especially on weekends

14.GPS Navigation: you must learn how to use google map to navigate to riders pick up location and destination or else they will bombard you with low rating. And google map will help improve your knowledge about Lagos road network.

15.Flood: During raining season places like Lekki, Ajah and some part of V.I are usually flooded, u should avoid going there or else water might damage your car engine. When there is heavy rainfall, these places are massively flooded.

16.Fuel Scarcity: During festive period approaching Christmas and New year there is always fuel scarcity. Fares and surge goes up astronomically. Ensure u get storage for fuel, so u don’t run out of fuel to work and profits margin are usually crazy at that time

17. And Finally HEALTH: Take care your of body “health is wealth”. Eat well, get enough rest and take medication if necessary. Don’t over stress yourself.

As a JJC In the business your average expectation on weekly earnings should be 50k-80k. At most 90k in a week with surge.
( Before expenses)

As u get more experience your earning capacity increases to like 100k-120k

Though there are a lots of cars on d platform NOW. So you gat to work smart and harder to succeed

Nice and educative.

Please is this information below still obtainable as I am interested in registering on Uber/Taxify.
Please confirm if Uber/Taxify require Comprehensive car insurance or Third party Insurance.
Thanks

Chuwaa:

Bros don't delay as I was doing, just take your car to Hyden filling station at Alapere, for inspection, pay the 2k and the guy will inspect and send you the email. (Keep N500 tip sha)
Go for the training the following day at Providence house along Admiralty way in the morning before 9am, by then the Hyde guy must have sent thme your report. Attend the training and let them sign you up and you start driving immediately.

For Uber, you'll have to answer a lot of online questions, they don't do inspection, just go for their training at Maryland mall.

So on Monday, drive to Hyden for Taxify inspection (report will be available from 3pm)
Head to Marlyand mall and join the Uber 10am training
Answer their online questions too.
On Tuesday, head to Providence house Lekki for Taxify. No dulling, the earlier the better.

Despite what you've read here, your first week won't be funny. So expect steady flow from 2nd week.

Hello house,

Carried a rider from Lekki phase1 to Park view estate ikoyi on 1.5x . Uber said I should collect 750 naira. My earnings for the trip was about 900 naira. I discovered that the 300 naira Lekki-Ikoyi bridge toll was not included in the fare . I reported it to them in app and the person is asking for the receipt of the toll . I really don't understand it. My route is there, I passed the toll gate. I have not responded yet to his message. Any idea please?

Sorry Bro...no receipt no cash.that is the oyinbo way of life.after i experienced this once at MMIA i have left to always ask for my toll receipts that 200/300 mean sumthing

We don't know how human labour should be treated that's why we accept everything placed on our table.

25% off to uber
35% off to fuel
35% off to delivery
5% taken by labourer

And u feel contended. It's a pity

I tot I was the only one that ever noticed these. I'm a driver and partner. And this the major reason I chose to driver my car myself and do Taxify on to get 50% taken for my labour. After 15% off to Taxify
35% off to delivery
And note I eat n maintain my car from the my 50%

I really pity drivers that do uber only. There story sure die

Has anyone tried these guys before? I have had a bad experience with one car tracker in the past and wouldn't want to fall victim again; poor customer service, tracker doesn't work from far range, installer avoiding calls, App not working as expected- just frustrating I must say. so many fake guys in this country.

Good people in the house should please advice a brother. I worked so hard day and night to secure a car and wouldn't want some random guys to snatch it. though I have a comprehensive insurance, i still believe in having other controls to secure my asset.

U need to understand a lot abt d biz my friend....wat u need to understand is more Dan d one u already knw..Do I even need to argue with u?...Nobody is saying Uber is better Dan taxify in terms of fare...d point is dat,Uber never forced u to bring Ur car or Ur driver's license to their office..there are many alternatives as Engr Gazzuzz has said..but pray u don't come across fraudulent riders dat LL refuse to pay at d end of d trip like 9k fare..dats went u LL knw one good advantage of Uber too...lolz .I'm not a learner(driver) on Uber platform...I can introduce to u more Dan 10 drivers dat drives on only Uber, and still very much ok wit their 20-25k as well as meeting their weekly delivery..but do I even need to do dat? No...cus u HV concluded d impossibility already...If u HV driven Uber in Cairo (Egypt) where transportations are very cheap..u LL understand d best formular and strategics to apply in naija....good morning

Hello, I will do #120,000 gross on Uber alone next week (note that that will show up as #90,000 net earnings on my app). I will work 70 hours next week. If I achieve this, you will credit me with #10,000. If I fail, I will credit you with #10,000.
Deal?

Drop that car ASAP.
I use it as personal drive and I know how it feels.
They need to make comprehensive scan and be sure the oxygen sensors are working correctly, not just the catalyst(which by the way DOES not impact fuel consumption)
Next they should check the brain box to see that the coding us still sending correct info to the system. If all these are working well with no evap reading from the scan, then you can have a minimal improvement.
personally, I have decided to stop using mine,as I manage to earn double for every 1k of fuel (without boosts anyway)
Again explain to the owner and drop it asap.

A lot of people are reading this page and some have heard old tales how uber is so "lucrative" and they all want to invest and they usually make their calculations with all optimism. I picked a rider yesterday, a banker who probably borrowed some funds to buy corrola 2.1m and big daddy 1.75m. You can imagine how he'll be calculating his gains plus bank interest.
The truth is that Uber is very dull these days (too many drivers)except for long trips and I've discovered that those that live in far places like ikorodu, egbeda, abule egbaa axis always get better fares than those short trips from lekki to VI.
I once met a driver that took a rider from ikorodu to falomo and collected cool 5400 in one trip under 2hrs in the morning, someone else will do 4 trips from lekki to vi,sometimes running empty back to lekki and will manage to make that amount.
So guy, drop that car now for your sanity

My brother, a bad or no catalyst will affect fuel consumption o. Talking from experience o..

I think what he means is that a lazy uber driver, can work and make 25k easily, while a company driver does not make that amount in a week.. I could be wrong, but most company driver don't make up to 60k a month... I could be wrong o
