AlterEnigma: Its simple. They can't verify if your sponsor is the owner of the business account at that spot, reason they asked you to submit one showing his name. Just do as they have instructed |

Ubah1: Yes, am gonna do as instructed.. The issue now is Can banks change account names? |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by LagosismyHome(f): 9:30am On May 03, 2018 |
AlterEnigma: no the bank is not going to change names ............ You either submit a bank statement with the owner's name showing how much is in his personal account or submit documents verifying that he is the owner of the business and how much access he has to the money It never a good idea to use a company account as it can be hard to prove that money in there belongs solely for the owner use 3 Likes |

Gloryemo:If its not needed it won’t be stated. Ofcourse you can get all information online, never give the information gotten here priority over your school’s website. The best source of credible information is your grad cord or dept secretary, send them emails. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Haryormeesey: Before i start.. Note of Advice , which has been said here many times Make sure you have genuine answers to most of the questions asked While on the queue you'll obviously over hear one or two things 1. VO Asked a fellow why he's going for pharmacy.. He said he wants to help people(right there, I knew he didn't soji) VO asked why do you want help people... He said he cares for people... I just stopped listening at that point cuz I wasn't down for any negative energy 2. Pls and pls , As stated so many times here... When asked how you got to know about the school.. they dont want to hear msinus or internet ish.. Make sure you have a legit fellow who you heard about the school from.. VO asked this fellow how he got to know about the school and he called the name of a person.. the VO then told the guy to spell the name while he checked his database.. They have all this info on their server.. so be careful if you plan on using someone whose been through their system 3. Have read cases where people got away cuz they pretended not to be able to speak English.. you'll be surprised the VO attending to you knows how to speak Yoruba, igbo etc.. witnessed it today So here my goes my TRANSCRIPT VO: tell me about your program Me: My program is in Masters in Chemical Engineering at Tamuk. It requires 24 credit hours .. 18hours in a major and 6hrs in a minor VO: tell me about your academic background Me: I did chemical engineering in my undergraduate (Vo cuts in: ooh chemical engineering , i said YES) and I graduated last year July. VO: Why didn't you do NYSC Me: I want to focus more on my education at this point and be done with it (he smiled at this point). VO: so what will this degree do for you.. All this while he wasn't looking at me.. but after asking this question.. He stopped and looked at me Me: I'll be bringing my U.S degree back to Nigeria to apply for jobs(started nodding his head) at P&G, GSK ( He was just looking me in the eye and leaning closer to hear more) chevron, shell to name a few because a U.S. degree has an excellent international reputation (kept on nodding And typing) which will make me a valuable asset and give me an edge over my colleagues (just kept on nodding and nodding) when I get back to Nigeria Vo: how many schools did you apply two Me: 2 Vo: what was the other one Me: Lamar uni VO: why Tamuk Me: I almost choked here... I chose Tamuk basically for two major reasons. 1. they offer a concentration in renewable energy which is in line with my career goal of being a specialist in energy 2. They now have a natural gas dept which is combined with the chemical engineering dept and spearheaded by the same director. Dr. ******** whom I called and confirmed from VO: whose sponsoring you Me: my dad Vo: what does he do Me: he does this and that Vo: let me see his statement.. Me: handed it over to him.. then he said they are not showing his name but business name... showed him a reference letter that showed his name as the owner of the account. Told him he's a sole proprietor of his business.. VO asked if he didn't have staffs he pays to cuz the money could be expenditures Said No, just his PA and driver.. He handles everything himself.. Then he gave me back the statement to show him popc name cuz I said I can show him his name.. So I showed him his withdrawals on the accounts and he says he can see all that.. he just wants too see his own name on the title of the account.. Then he said I should either change the name on the account or transfer all the money to a new account with his name on it and follow some instructions on one white paper like that and send additional documents supporting the account through DHL to them and Gave me a case number Then he returned my passport.. Personally the guy okay.. Na people way just dey go WINDOW 2 I pity.. The lady has no chills MODIFIED: he asked if I took any standardised test. Told him both GRE AND TOEFL and also asked when i graduated 15 Likes 1 Share |

LOL! I thought Lamar was the name of Khloe Kardashians ex-husband. Then "Tamuk" sounds like a place in Edo state. Didnt know they were schools in the U.S. Guys, I think we shouldn't just be focusing on getting out of the country. I think we should do it strategically. Think about your employability after the program. There are many of the schools that have been mentioned here that's worse that Unilag, so whats the point of spending ticket and tuition money and going to all these dead schools? AlterEnigma: |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by LagosismyHome(f): 2:05pm On May 03, 2018 |
hilaryxoxo: at bold ............ i agree for some but "Tamuk" is Texas A&M University-Kingsville . I dont know of this in particular but some of the A&M are good schools ie College station 2 Likes |

hilaryxoxo: haba sister take am easy na. if you don't know TAMU-Kingsville, i am sure you don't know the other TAMUs in Texas. when you hear TAMUC (Texas A&M Commerce) you will say it sounds like a subject in secondary school; TAMUCS (College Station) sounds like a train station;TAMUCC (Corpus Christi) sounds like the name of a messiah. everyone must not attend Unilag, that is why we also have Uni-Ibadan, Uni-Ilorin, Uniben etc... 8 Likes |

Lol Those schools are still popular kind off and are not dead . There are some school names I see here and I marvel. Such names do not even appear on trustworthy rankings like the US News. hilaryxoxo: 1 Like |

Ogamba1: AlterEnigma: I dont think re-scheduling is allowed any longer. You might have to pay another Visa fee. But i will advice you buy like 1000naira credit and call the embassy first. |

Gloryemo: All schools I applied to waived my English test even when it was stated as a requirement. I emailed the one that didn't waive automatically that I've had all my education in English language and they waived it. You could send an email to the grad coordinator but I think tamuc will waive it. 1 Like |
