Red Bull Salzburg is miles ahead of any other team in Austria.

Their performance in Europe is not a reflection of the standard of the league.

Just like leipeig in Germany, Red Bull has helped make Salzburg a formidable force in Austria.

If Red Bull Salzburg is miles ahead of any other team in Austria with better and quality players, how come Kayode Olanrewaju was named the best player in that league ahead of players in the club miles ahead of him?

Besides, Bayern Munich is miles ahead of any other team in Germany. We can also agree that their performance is not the reflection of the league, right?

Where did u get what u are saying from? First and foremost I am an FCB fan so all that EPL only talk is bogus. Also I have watched Levakusen multiple times this season and their keeper never caught my eye as a top keeper.

I apologize to you because you are my fellow Fcb fan

They don't judge football that way okay.

Salah was named the best Epl player,is Liverpool the best Epl team this season ?

Please oga forgiveness remove sentiment, forget say kayode na our man okay.

Kayode was the top scorer in the league but Austria wein didn't win the league and they came second.

But Austria wein is the most successful club in Austria with 24 league titles while Salzburg has just 11 league title

Salzburg won the Austrian league 18 points off the second place last season..

This season they are 11 points off second place.

Bayern is obviously ahead of the other teams in Germany because they buy all the best players in the league.

Chidera Ezeh is back from injury and started the last game for Porto B as a striker.

Musa Yahaya continued as a right back.

Porto B won the game 1:0.

like play like play Musa Yahaya is now a right back...this guy was a bag of skill back then..... .is it that European coaches only see the strong, athletic and defensive side of our players...... From Mikel to Moses now this guy.........

You are not getting my point.

I never said Austria Wien was the best team in Austrian league.

I am saying even though Kayode Olanrewaju was the best player in Austrian league ahead of better players in Salzburg but yet he is not rated. Why?

I know all these before now but my point still remains that if a player is voted the best player from a lower club instead from the best club in a league (especially in a league one of it's club is obviously doing well in UEFA), it shows that such player quality can't or should not be ignored but that is not the case with Kayode Olanrewaju who the coaching crew were forced to invite to the National team and even refused to play him on some occasions.

Like you rightly said, Bayern Munich buys all the best from the league but if peradventure a player from Mainz wins the best player of the year award ahead of the best players in Bayern Munich, what do you think about that?

Should such player be overlooked?

As it stands, Austrian league's best team is ahead of the Belgium pro league and Isreali league best teams.

I decided to go watch the game with some Arsenal folks. We kinda had a mini send-forth for Wenger from the European scene as an Arsenal coach. I had to look for my Arsenal jersey from where I buried it. After I found it, it then dawned on me how outdated my version is. grin Thank God say na night grin

And for the first time in a very long while that Arsenal spirit came upon me, and being almost restless for the entire 90mins.

I wanted my man to retire with at least one European trophy.

Both legs, the boys played well, creating plenty of chances. Just that they did not utilize the chances they had especially in the first leg. Athletico were the more tactical side which is why they are in the final and not us.

By and large me I have moved on. Life goes on.

Peter Olayinka wants assurances before he returns to KAA Gent after loan spell

Peter Olayinka has said he will be happy to return to KAA Gent after a successful loan spell at another Belgian club Zulte-Waregem this outgoing season, but he will need assurances he will get game time at his parent club.

Olayinka has yet to play an official game for Gent and has instead been shipped out on loan with his latest loan stint being at Zulte-Waregem.

“I do not know if KAA Gent really believe in me, my agent and I have had some talks with them and I hope so,” he told Het Nieuwsblad.

“For me it is like this: I am owned by Gent and will return at the end of the loan, but I will not know what will happen to me afterwards, maybe I will stay, but if there is an interesting offer, I will look at it with my agent.

“What is most important to me is that Gent want me back, then it must be because they believe in me, because they see a role for me in the team and I want to see myself playing at Gent .

“I have not played a single official game yet for them, unbelievable, right? I want to change that. ”

Close watchers say Olayinka is seen as a direct replacement for compatriot Moses Simon, who could quit Gent this summer.

Kayode has been having great seasons prior to that last season. So, it's not about 'a great season' but his over all performance over 4 seasons in a row and his obvious talent that has been ignored by 'to whom it may concern' till date.

However, if Salzburg improves next season along with a team from Austrian league it will become an indicator of the over all league quality.

To be brutally honest, I am much more worried about our striking department and their scoring ability. I have some faith in Uzoho but I'd be fine if the other guy replaces him as well (i forgot his name; he's based in Israel).

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has stated that 19-year-old goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is not the team’s weakness ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Uzoho was the starting goalkeeper for the Super Eagles in the 1-0 win against Poland as well as the 0-2 defeat to Serbia in the March friendlies.

After the game some Nigerian supporters have expressed fear that the 19-year-old is a weak link and may not be ready to compete at the World Cup.

Rohr has, however, come out to back Uzoho in goal ahead of the tournament.

Rohr stated that the goalkeeping position should not be seen as a weak link as the team has two good goalkeepers in Uzoho and Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

He said, “I don’t think goalkeeping is the weak link in my team,”

“After we lost Carl Ikeme to sickness, we had what seemed like a goalkeeping crisis but Ikechukwu Ezenwa did well in the qualifiers but we kept looking for options.”

Rohr stated that going into the World Cup, the team must have two good options as goal keepers, and also backed the Deportivo Fabril goalkeeper for his performances in the friendly games.

“Francis Uzoho came as an option because to go to the World cup, you require two good goalkeepers and I must say he has done well in the three games he has played for the Super Eagles that I won’t be afraid to start him in our opening game against Croatia at the World Cup in Russia.”

Rohr praised the characteristics of Uzoho and refused to blame him for the defeat against Serbia.

“Francis is good and tall, and he is ready to learn. He did well in the friendly games against Argentina and Poland with two clean sheets and conceded two goals against Serbia in his third game in which I experimented with some players and tactics.” He said.

Uzoho had the opportunity to play against Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski who is regarded as one of the top strikers in Europe, and Rohr hopes the experience will help the young goalkeeper at the World Cup.

He said, “I don’t believe he will get stage fright playing against the likes of Messi and other big names in Russia, because after playing against the likes of Lewandowski of Poland, Aguero and Di Maria of Argentina, I am optimistic that he would rise to the occasion in Russia.”

Rohr finally confirmed that the 35-man preliminary Super Eagles list will submitted to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF)of Friday, May 4.
