Osimhen is injured. Tammy will most likely never play for Nigeria. Obi, Onyekuru and Alampasu could make the list. Modified And maybe Simy. Lookman could be considered, who knows? solonnachi: |

solonnachi: Those likely to be on Rohr's list from this lot: Joel Obi, Henry Onyekuru, Dele Alampasu(yes, 5 goalkeepers are in Rohr's plans) Samuel Kalu and Simeon Nwankwo have outside chances and let me also add Peter Olanyinka. |

Ogu: I Can Play Defensive Or Attacking Midfield For Super Eagles May 4, 2018 Hapoel Beer-Sheva midfielder John Ogu has declared that he is ready to excel in any role given to him by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr as Nigeria at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. Ogu is looking to get a spot in the Super Eagles squad to the World Cup in June and the midfield is the most competitive part of the team with many players jostling for few places. “Call me defensive or attacking midfielder and you won’t be wrong. I am a midfielder and I’m ready to take up any role in Super Eagles just to ensure we succeed,” Ogu told CSN. He however refused to be drawn into any controversy which queried Rohr’s preference for Onazi Ogenyi as starter alongside Mikel Obi and Wilfred Ndidi, saying he is undeterred by his substitute role in the team. Ogu expressed confidence in the ability of the national team to go all the way in Russia barring any injury, adding that Rohr’s words of encouragement have kept the team together as a unit; a factor he describes as key to Super Eagles’ recent success. “I’m really encouraged by those words coming from the manager. We will always work together as a team and I’m not really bothered about my substitute role in the team because all that matters now is victory,” he added. “We believe we can do it at the World Cup, God willing.” https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/ogu-i-can-play-defensive-or-attacking-midfield-for-super-eagles/#comment-117881 1 Like |

Oga u are basing your conclusion on the word that was out there. The koko is the modified. That’s why they needed the win, and that why the word was out there in the first place. It’s very necessary to ask the question, “why?” Now u know. Thanks to analytical minds like Mickael2 and some of us. BascoVanVeli: 1 Like |

Balogun Assures He’s ‘Back On Track’ To Full Recovery From Rib Injury 5 May 2018 2:14 pm FSV Mainz defender, Leon Balogun, has allayed fears in some quarters that he might miss out on a place in Nigeria’s squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia by providing a positive update on Twitter about his rib injury, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. Balogun, 29, has missed Mainz’s last two league games against Augsburg and Leipzig due to the injury. He last featured for Mainz in their 2-0 win against Freiburg at the OPEL Arena on April 16. Mainz manager, Sandro Shwarz stated on Thursday during his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund that the defender had not been able to train fully with the rest of the squad. But the centre-back has now assured he is on the track to attaining full fitness. “Back on track , “reads a tweet on Balogun’s Twitter handle, with a picture of him in training at the bottom. Balogun has made 14 appearances for the Mainz in the Bundesliga this season with no goal yet to his name. He is poised to leave the club at the end of the season as he will become a free agent in June. English Premier League club Huddersfield are set to be the favourite to secure his services. https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/balogun-assures-hes-back-on-track-to-full-recovery-from-rib-injury/#comment-117872 2 Likes |

Seem Dudes are checking on a different EPL Table, coz officially Stoke City is relegated. They've played 37 Matches out of possible 38 with 30 Points. Swansea has only played 36 Matches and presently with 33 Points, while West Brom has 31 Points from 37 Matches. Mathematically if Southampton wins today, West Brom also would be officially relegated, thus the final Battle for the last Team to be relegated will be between Swansea and Southampton. 1 Like |

Iwobi: Training With World-Class Arsenal Players Is Shaping Me Up For World Cup May 2018 Nigeria winger, Alex Iwobi, is upbeat that training with with quality and talented players at Arsenal will help him put up a good showing for his country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Iwobi is one of the young Nigerian players who are expected to make their debut at the mundial this summer in Russia. He has featured alongside world-class stars like Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan at Arsenal this season and he believes the experience will be vital for him at the World Cup. “The fact I’ve been training with world-class players every day has given me a bit of experience, so I’ll know what to expect in Russia. The intensity I train at with Arsenal is very high, so I’m preparing in a good way. I feel like I can do well,” Iwobi told the June 2018 edition of FourFourTwo magazine. Iwobi was the Super Eagles last October, when his goal against Zambia secured a 1-0 win for the Super Eagles and booked their berth at a third consecutive World Cup finals. The 21-year-old, who has earned 15 Nigeria caps, admits he couldn’t hold back the tears when he spotted his parents celebrating. “It’s difficult to describe, as the feeling was crazy,” he says. “I remember looking at the crowd and seeing my parents jumping – I almost cried, it was emotional. It was always my dream as a kid so I can’t wait to be involved. I’m looking forward to the atmosphere and wearing the colours of Nigeria,” he added. “I would never have guessed I’d do something like that so early in my career. I had dreams about it, but the fact that my dreams came true – I can’t put into words how I felt. After the game I went to the hotel and my mum and dad were both there. Just seeing them, I almost burst into tears again.” Gernot Rohr’s men will face Croatia in their opening Group D game in Kaliningrad on June 16. They will also come up against Iceland and two-time champions Argentina in the same group. https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/iwobi-training-with-world-class-arsenal-players-is-shaping-me-up-for-world-cup/ 1 Like |

Joebie: Sorry that I am not a math teacher but the fact remains that u were wrong. The Premier league channel stated it was a must win and the same channel confirmed that stoke was relegated, I was only responding to your claim that they could have made a mistake just because CNN made one earlier in the week. |

Oasis007: Merely looking at the table alone it will appear Stoke are not relegated. Why they are out is because Southampton and Swansea are facing each other in an outstanding fixture. Were they to meet different opponents and both should lose it would have been a different story for Stoke. |

Puel Laments Ndidi’s Hamstring Injury, Silent On Recovery Time 5 May 2018 Leicester City manager Claude Puel has spoken out about his frustration over the club’s Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi’s hamstring injury but the Frenchman did not give a specific recovery period, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. Ndidi, 21, picked up the injury during Leicester’s 5-0 Premier League defeat at Crystal Palace last Saturday and there have been unsubstantiated reports that the former Genk star would be out for six weeks, putting his participation at the Russia 2018 World Cup in doubt. The Super Eagles star, who was named Leicester’s Young Player of the Year for the second straight season, has played 38 matches in all competitions this season for the club, 33 of them in the Premier League. Puel said during his press conference on Friday that he could be without up to nine members of his first team squad including Ndidi for Saturday’s Premier League clash with West Ham United. “There’s an ankle problem with [Robert] Huth, [Shinji] Okazaki, [Kasper] Schmeichel, and [Ben] Chilwell in training,” Puel said. “[Matty] James has had tendon surgery. It’s a hamstring strain for [Wilfred] Ndidi and [Daniel] Amartey and [Marc] Albrighton is suspended. “[Vicente] Iborra has come back into the squad. He comes back with just two or three training sessions and we will see for Saturday. [Danny] Simpson has a groin pain and is not available also.” Hamstring injuries could take between two weeks and eight weeks to heal depending on the severity of the strain. Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is still recovering from an ankle problem and Puel added: “We will wait for Kasper and how he is feeling, if he can come back. It’s the same with Okazaki and different players. “It’s not a serious injury but there are a lot of players are not available and it’s difficult.” Watch The https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/puel-laments-ndidis-hamstring-injury-silent-on-recovery-time/ |
