Sir, from thorough study of occupation list and comparing my work experience as a field transmission engineer, the perfect occupation for my experience is Telcoms Field Engineer. And going through the assessment details, the job category is at skill level 2 compared to Telecom Network Engineer which is categorised as Skill level 1.

Now my concern is, will this lower my assessment point if i go for the Telecom Field Engineer which perfectly align with my work experience? and what difference is between associate degree & bachelor degree.

Really sorry to bother you with many questions, just want to get it right at first attempt.

Thanks in anticipation.

@bellong, plz your input will also be appreciated as well

Assessing a skill level 1 or 2 occupation does not in any way add or remove points. All you need is a positive skill assessment. If you went to any of our federal or state university with a 5 years course then you don't have to bother about associate degree, it would be equivalent to AQF Bachelors. So the difference really in the two degree is basically the time taken to undergo it. Don't just bother about that.

Hi Bellong and the other pros in da house I have a question to ask.....I actually have a lot of options before me at the moment for PhD study abroad,(on scholarship) Ireland, Malaysia, UK but I am looking to move permanently so I may forgo the scholarship. I have my first and second degree in urban and regional planning , Nigeria and UK respectively and I have been working as a lecturer in a government polytechnic for about 10years now. I have always loved Australia but Urban and regional planning is not available on visa 189 except regional sponsored visas 190 and 489. After going through the different states in Australia only Northern Territory is sponsoring vocational education teacher, so can I apply for assessment as a vocational education teacher? Bearing in mind that I teach urban and regional planning in the polytechnic

Hello House, I'm not claiming experience but I'm about to submit my EA assessment using my Projects as CE. Please explain this to me;

If you have not applied for the additional assessment of your relevant skilled employment, you are required to submit employment evidence for each relevant employment period of 12 months or more, or if a career episode is based on an employment period. If you have no relevant skilled employment, simply tick the box below. If you have applied for the additional assessment of your relevant skilled employment, then you will need to submit documentary evidence for each period of employment you wish to be assessed for.

Am I to click I don’t have any relevant work experience. ? Since I'm not claiming point, for experience can I choose that. Please HELP!

Thanks

babahameedah:
We thank God, the owner of mankind and the world. The sustainer of the universe. He does what he wills and nobody dare question him. When we plan, he plans too, but he is the best of all planners. I got angry in the year 2016. I have been employed for close to five years then in an Oil company as a full staff. i figured that If I cannot engage myself in Deals, I cannot be as rich as i wanted. What other people do to maintain the Oil company status. So i started this process of immigration, soaking myself into its details, reading about the different routes and then it was Canada that my focus was on. I had a colleague who had traveled a year back. So i contacted him and he helped simplify the process for me. I and my wife enrolled for IELTS in March 2017 and April 2017. We did the IELTS and scored an overall band of 7.5. My wife scored 6.5 i think. We applied to WES paid and LAUTECH went on strike for close to one year. After the strike, our transcripts was sent and close to I thing September 2017 we got our ECA. But you know the score of 7.5 in listening in my IELTS has broken my back and had no choice than to do another IELTS. People who promised to help with POF reneged. So i was back to square one. The POF was the biggest problem. How can i raise 6 million Naira for a family of four. This was indeed rocket science. So while i was always scouting through the Internet asking my friend google several questions about immigration, then in one of the searches, I saw a Nairaland thread about Australian immigration. I had checked this in 2017 and i concluded that Australia was too far. " what about if there is war" How will i get home, i often ask myself. So when i became choiceless, I decided to take the Nairaland as my day job. I added it to my possitions job description. I will check early in the morning and read it before i sleep. I was able to get so much information and i blamed myself for not using google well earlier and for thinking Australia was too far. So I quickly became acquainted with the Australia process after asking questions severally. Somebody called Zany was always there. Alpahdoor, sproxy were always answering questions in a jiffy. So i looked at the list and the closest occupation to my present job description was "plant Engineer" And Plant Engineer was been invited with 65 points then so i figured i would be fast into entering Australia as my simulated point was also 65. So sharp sharp, i assessed with Engineers Australia, wrote my CDR with anger and paid and submitted. The CO contacted me Once and asked me to resend my Passport and ask my school to resend my certificate. I figured i did not follow EA instructions well. You should not submit a certified true copy document. I had submitted a CTC certificate i once used for a German school admission process. My plant Engineer was granted by EA early this year. After the assesment i quickly enter pool. Unfortunately, the invitation point for 189 had been jacked up. A friend in this group quickly advised me to apply for 489 Northern inland and i did not listen because i was like, what will i do with 489 when i can enter 189. The point would soon come down i figured. After a week, plant engineer was removed from Northern Inland. After several rounds and the point did not come down, i became frustrated. I started looking frantically for 489. But unfortunately, Plant Engineer was only in the NSW 190 list. And NSW according to info had not invited engineer since last year. I was left only with the option of 189. So my Options were doing another IELTS or PTE to get 20 for English. I bought Mock test from baba sproxy and my speaking result was so low that i was embarrassed myself. If not for the mock test, I for don waste 78,000 abi how much sef!. Mock test is good O!. Please Buy Mock test from Sproxy and Vouchers. That is the surest way to prepare before the test. So i started preparing and reading,. I had to pay a lady from a club i belonged (toastmasters) to start teaching me speaking. My goal was to start speaking like a native. Mhen, My tongue don twist!
So one day when speaking to sproxy on phone he advised me to just be applying to the regions even if my occupation no dey list! i felt that will be a waste of time. After frustration don hold me for jugular, no body teach me wey i start to the apply. So i signified my interest in the same Northern inland and called the gary fry guy. The guy tell me say him no fit nominate me. I tell am say I be maintenance fitter and that maintenance fitter they them list and that my trade test certifcate wey i never hear before if not for this group they my hand. I don go collect am sharp sharp say i go take am apply for "fitter general " with TRA and my plant Engineer don enter One way. One night like that my wife ginger me, na im i start to they apply for all the regions and provinces. I got no reply from none of them. I go wake up for midnight they call them as our time and their time na 9 hours ahead. So 12:30 pm na like morning for Aussie. So after i think, three weeks wey i don forget say i even write letter, na im i come get mail from Riverinna say them like say i be maintenance fitter and that they like my skills and that they will like to nominate me. My brother! he be like say i dey another world. Na im i wait till midnight again and called the Lady Faye anderson to ask make e no be like say i dey dream. na im she confirm the mail O! Na so i call babanQuadri and Alagba sproxy O say please o see the news wey i get O. Na im them say make i dey fire they go. Infact babanquadri ( May Allah bless him for me) called me for whatsapp say make i fire dey go. I appreciate the call sir. I might have dropped the application if not for the call. na so I apply and the great lawland helped me pay AUD 770 ( Owo oniru owo Oniyo) and i applied. Na so them send me nomination from Riverinna after three or four days. And Today i Got ITA. I figured God has designed everybodys path. We need prayers for whatever we need. We also need determination and focus. We need to move with people of like minds. This man called Quadri is a good man. How else can we know good man. This man called Sproxy is a good Man. how else can we know a good man. There was a lady in this group i called and she helped me with the tactics of PTE. May God bless you. You see that MamaJazz ehn is a great woman. Contemporary and Humorous.

As the others have pointed out. As far as ACS is concerned Certifications will have no bearing on your nomination. I initially did MCSE because my Bsc. is not computer related. I wasted time going for the certification and it eventually cost me a lot.

Even if you studied something else you can get a positive outcome from ACS and in your own case you studied computer science.

The alternative of going through EA need to be verified properly for someone who did not study engineering but with 5 years experience.

Humanshadow once wrote

"Please note that when submitting your application to EA, you have to nominate an occupation that you will be assessed on since it is CDR. As long as you have a degree in Engineering, it usually does'nt matter what field of Engineering you nominated provided that you can prove to EA that you have relevant work experience in that field. In writing my CDR, I used my MSc thesis and the other two from the work I did in the profession I nominated. Use professional Engineer as @Bellong mentioned. "

-Unquote.

In this case she studied computer science not engineering.

I'm really inspired the kind of insightful information shared so far. God Bless you all.

I'm planning of getting into the PR race and information read has really got my spirit up. Had a BSc in computer science from OOU in 2010, and had a 5 yrs experience working as a field transmission engineer on Airtel network under Ericsson and Huawei respectively.

Presently, I'm planning on going for my CCIE/MCSE (cloud infrastructure) training and certification in India, after which i wanna apply for Computer Network & System Engineer or Telecommunications Network Engineer under the subclass 189.

To the experienced ones, kindly advice on what chance i stand to get an ITA? or the better subclass to apply for.

Age: 32

Thanks.

Flying with Newborns is really a factor of when you can get their travel document ready (passport)and the Airline.

You are not alone brotherly. Some of us still dey re-strategising. Have you considered 489 as an option? Just in case you still find the English difficult. I don't have Yoruba accent like that but I haven't been able to get 79 in Speaking with PTE but you never can tell. With more practice you may subdue the PTE mountain.

Aim for 20 in English, if you get that, then you can get ITA in a week. However, 65 is still very good for Civil engineers. You will most likely have state nomination from NSW on 190.

Please go through and if possible Corroborate this news

Australia Immigration News | Latest News on Australia Immigration | www.a2zimmi.com Your One Stop Immigration Gateway

After an extremely long period of time, A highly positive news from Australia has arrived today with the statement of Mathias Cormann, the Finance Minister of Australia, that has put a full stop on the rumors about the decrease in ceiling in next financial year 2018-2019.

On Friday 4th May 2018, the finance minister, Mathias Cormann, said that the government had no plans to change the permanent migration figure of 190,000 people a year with the exact statement as "We have made it very clear we’re not proposing to reduce that 190,000 number but it is a ceiling, it’s not a target.”

This Statement came after the opposition of any plan to reduce the immigration levels, promoting a migration compact to keep permanent immigration at its current level of about 190,000 a year by the business groups and Australia's union movement.

The Australian Council of Trade Unions, The Australian Industry Group and a suite of national peak bodies have declared that they jointly “affirm that Australia’s permanent migration program is essential to Australian society and economy and do not support any reduction to the scheme”.

From 2013 onwards every year Australia has a yearly PR intake of about 190,000. Other than this a quota of 16250 is taken under humanitarian program.

The whole discussion regarding the reduction in migrants count was started in the beginning of this year when the former prime minister Tony Abbott appealed for the new annual target for immigration count to be 110000 instead of 190000, and the home affairs minister, Peter Dutton, raised the concern of having a cut in immigration count by 20000. The given reason to decrease this count was the extra pressure on infrastructural requirements on the major cities of Australia and failure to groom the same at the same pace, by the increase in population density due to migration.

In the last decade the visas issued always remained close to the given target as a ceiling in each financial year. Last year it was about 183608 out of 190000 and the discrepancy of 6392 was the highest of the decade which was around 1600 collectively for all the previous nine years.

From November 2017, onwards there was a big slowdown in the Invitations Count and it remained consistently at 300 for 189 Skilled Independent Visa sub category. The scenario for other two streams 190 and 489 (State Nominated Programs and Regional Provisional Visa Sub Class) even remained worse as only five Invitations under 489 category and around 1000 for all the eight states were given under 190 sub class. These three visa streams are the main Skilled Immigration categories through which, almost 60 percent of the whole migration requirement is fulfilled.

So this will make the 2017-2018 to be the year with the highest discrepancy ever in the last twelve years, which makes this year as a dead year as far as the Australian Immigration for Skilled Workers is concerned. Right now, only two months before the Australian fiscal year closure the required ceiling is unfilled by a huge percentage of more than 50 percent in most of the profiles so it comes as a big failure of all time in the whole migration mechanism of Australia.

As these Skilled Immigration streams are totally point based and due to decrease in invitations in each draw the point cutoff is touching the sky with a requirement of 80 points for most of the profiles. From the last few months there was a big silence from the officials of home affairs as well as associated government bodies of Australia, that was creating a feel of fear and panic in the applicants across the globe. So hopefully along with this news, in the coming draws we will also see a rapid increase in the count of invitations and eventually a trail trend in the points requirement.

I hope this could bring a glimpse of smile on the faces of all my dear friends, those who keep on asking regarding their chances of getting Visas under current competitive circumstances. We at www.a2zimmi.com urge them and all immigration aspirants to be positive and proactive as Australia actually needs the deserving ones to be there on skilled migration Visas. Brain Drain through skilled migration is the best mantra followed by Australia as well as Canada for talent acquisition from the developing nations to fulfill their human resource requirements at almost no cost for preparing such talented resources and also compliments the needs of the migrants.

So I am Closing it here and will come up again soon with more updates and announcements regarding the Australian Immigration.
