The CM he played at Brazil 2014 and was tagged a "slowbie"?

Oga, Mikel is our number 10 to Russia.

He was awesome in Zambia at that position. I am not too crazy about where the player plays I just need them on the pitch with the right attitude.

we played a 3-5-2 against Argentina in the absence of V.Moses.If he were to be present how will we line-up?

Am thinking of a 3-4-3.

Uzoho

Awaziem Balogun Ekoong

Ebuehi Aina

Ndidi-Etebo

Iwobi Iheanacho V.Moses

What if we are to play 3-5-2 where will you place Moses. And show me how you will line up the team.

Note that what we played against Zambia in Ndola was a 4-4-1-1 more like a pseudo 4-4-2 and Mikel played behind the two strikers IE Ideye and Iheanacho.

Haha. They are not. Just that Rohr likes playing Iwobi from the wings. Did you notice he deployed Iwobi to the AM position in the Poland game when Iheanacho was virtually lost for almost the whole duration of the time he spent. Didn't you notice the difference when Iwobi went central after Iheanacho was taken off?

Then why didn't he start in those matches? Rohr said Iwobi was free to roam from the wings. He didn't deploy him there.

Also when you are a striker it will not always be above scoring goals you have to put in work and sometimes get kicked for the team. Iheanacho was not lost against Poland we all saw the effort he put into duels. This might be why Rohr has been skeptical of playing Iwobi there he is scared he won't be able to cope with the physicality.

are we really going to discuss the destruction of Mikel's potential by countless Chelsea coaches?

So, the white people obviously know better because they are in Europe undecided.....and Siasia that discovered him doesn't know how to play him.

I won't even answer those questions, they are annoying enough already. I can't believe a Nigerian is asking such a question undecided.

siasia discovered who? hahahahahahaha

'Nigerian Patrick Vieira' Scoops Charlton Athletic Young Player Of The Year 2018Charlton Athletic End of Season Awards took place on Monday, May 7, 2018 and a Nigerian starlet was among the winners.

Joe Aribo was recognized after a banner season for the Addicks, claiming the Young Player of the Year sponsored by Valley Gold.

The 21-year-old has not looked back since breaking into Charlton Athletic's first team and finished the regular season with 5 goals in 25 League One appearances.

The central midfielder, who has been likened to former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira , provided three assists in all competitions so far this season.

Aribo scooped Staines Town's Academy Player of the Year award in 2014 before transferring to Charlton a year later.

He helped the London team qualify for the League One playoffs and is set to play for the club on Thursday when they face Shrewsbury Town in the semifinal.

In December 2016, Aribo penned a new deal with Charlton, tying him to the club until June 30, 2019.

i'm an ardent super eagles follower and watched all the matches during the qualifiers. mikel did perfectly well playing the number 10 role against African opposition but can he do better against world class teams with better midfielders? we all will see the best of john obi mikel if deployed as a central midfielder. having obi playing centrally in the middle with alex given the license to roam around will be of huge benefit to the team whereas the duo will create lots of chances for the forwards to score.when the team is on pressure mikel's experience and style of play in the central midfield position will calm things down

Go back and watch Nigeria vs Spain 2013 Fifa conf. Cup. That match is now popularly known as "Mikel vs Spain"

I think that was one of his best performance in the WCQ. The passing that day was some of the best I have seen from the super eagles and he was the maestro. Not Just with the ball, he made a tackle in the box that I can swear was a goal. I think he only played like 70 minutes but he was effective. This does not mean he is better in that position but that is very much an option. Just like Victor Moses @RWB in our 3-5-2.

I wonder where you got send coaches to Osimhen and K. Nwakali. I just gave you an example of Rohr knowing folding his arms and waiting for international break will get us no where. We need to do more. One is to get the team B more active and a testing point for our top Potentials. Hold larger camps in this level and have unbiased screenings. Those that show real quality can have chances to train with the main team. These are just points off the top of my head. How it turned to just send coaches to teams beats my imagination. I just pointed out that Rohr has shown we need to do more.

to throw camp open to screen players for u17 abi u20 worldcup? hahahahahahahahahahaha oga na fifa world cup no be age grade competition we dey go. days are gone when our lazy and corrupt indigenous coaches used that method to cap few of their own players in other to attract deals abroad. rohr knows the fulcrum of his team already so throwing a camp open for recycled home based players will be a waste of time and resources

I am not talking about K. Nwakali and Osimhen but our young promising talents. Nurturing is a big reason why quality young talents Flop. We need to do more for our Young promising talents.

Rohr working in camp with Osimhen and C. Nwakali is a good example of a coach looking into improving his quality young talents.

We can as well play Moses as WB since Conte doesn't trust him enough to risk him as a winger.

mikel being deployed as a number 10 by rohr is because of the team's lack of a creative midfielder. if mikel is a super 10 why didn't any of chelsea's coaches risk him in that position during his stint with the londoners? in his present club in china does he play as a 10 often? lets not allow sentiment cloud our sense of reasoning. he is loved by all but his talent and experience will be better utilized if he is deployed as a central midfielder
Oga Charles we don pass this level on where Mikel should play and duscussing it now is like going back to 1000 plus pages on this thread.

Sir i think you said no creative midfielder then why question his position as number 10.

Mikel did not get a run at Chelsea as a creative midfielder. So you do not expect clubs lining up to sign him as a creative midfielder. That does not mean he lacked the ability. When Keshi gave him a chance, he shone like a million stars because it was always there.

Mikel did not get clubs coming for him because he did not get the chance.

It is not enough, we should do more. Rohr has given examples.

Kennedy Igboananike scored twice for Swedish club Orebro to win 4-2 at IK Sirius, while in neigbouring Denmark Paul Onuachu fired the winner for FC Midtjylland against Nordsjaelland.

Igboananike extended his scoring form when he scored in the fifth and 57 minutes, while compatriot Moses Ogbu was booked in the second half for the opposing team.

Orebro have now gone the first seven games of the season unbeaten.

They are now third on the table with 15 points from seven matches and are along with leaders Hammarby and second-placed AIK the only clubs yet to lose this season.

In Denmark, Onuachu is back firing again after injury.

He has now netted 10 goals in 19 games.

Midtjylland are second in the championship playoffs with 76 points from 33 matches, three points behind leaders Brondby.

paul onuachu is back!

You think the 3-4 days maybe about 3 of 4 times in a year a young player spends in the Super Eagles camp will stop him from flopping if he is bound towards flopping?

So you will now pack all the young promising talents and put in the Super Eagles and say you want to prevent them from flopping?
