redsocks: Nta has an English name and it's failure to thrive. But that is not a diagnosis you have to find out what caused the failure to thrive in the ist place. It could be malnutrition or congenital heart disease, hiv, pylori stenosis etc. Most of the cases I see in the hospital I work are from malnutrition and substituting breast milk and appropriate feeds for pap and other local feeds when baby is still not up to 5 months. Other causes I have seen are congenital heart disease where the child has a hole in the heart. 7 Likes 1 Share |

She should take the baby to the hospital. There is definitely something medically wrong. At least let her do that first before considering "traditional" solutions redsocks: 4 Likes |

nneejima:Haba!!! Dokita mama ejima? You made this diagnosis based on the rashes or that the head is awkwardly bigger than the body? A child who has lost weight like the op mentioned will have a head bigger than the body cos the head no dey loose weight. .Hydrocephalus would have been diagnosed immediately after birth if that's the case. You didnt say what the rash that you saw picture could be! But was quick to diagnose on a head you didn't see 14 Likes |

We are just back from the doctor's. They finally got a diagnosis, streptococcus. The test confirms it is a streptococcal skin infection. They symptoms really match and this while shit makes sense now. The right drugs has been dispense and an antibacterial topical cream. It is a bacterial infection. We also saw the hospital dermatologist, she said he should be fine with sebamed soap and shouldn't use any other soap henceforth. Thanks a lot mamas Cc hunniesuzie, fatiah and PraisesG queensnow: 3 Likes |

redsocks: They should not put fear inside her o. They'll tell her the nta is eating up all the nutrient in the body, for the 7days they'll rub one kind red something on the child's body and give her mom grinded ugba+another mix mix ingredient to use and bathe the child. Threadlike something will come out from the child's body. 1 Like |

[quote author=kelizosuy Oh, thank God the right diagnoses has been made. I'm always an advocate of seeing a specialist especially when all else fails. Please mamas, let's endeavour to seek a specialist doctor's opinion especially when it comes to our children and the usual treatment isn't working before resorting into herbal treatments |

Giddyperson: My baby had this for so long, it started when she was few months old. I tried all sorts before someone prescribed baby Tetmosol for it. I started using it to bath her and it gradually stopped. About a month ago, I decided to start using the Dove soap we use at home for her too, you won't believe the rashes came back. And hers always go beyond the neck to the whole of her upper back. I became confused. I may have to go back to Tetmosol or try Aveeno. She's 2 years plus now. cc PreciousRuby 2 Likes |
