[quote author=aadeyi post=67225066] I understand your point but 6 weeks course with your kids is screaming you are running away to the VO. This is what i can advise. Secure your own visa first, then you can apply for visiting for your kids after you must have gotten your visa. Moreover, I don't know when your course is starting oo but i know visa appointment in Lagos has been fully book all the way till August and Abuja is quickly filling up as well. Just My 2cents[ Thanks for the feed back. I will just apply for mine first. I appreciate you so much. |

James1997: Well there is nothing like sample of High school transcript. Your WAEC/NECO result is your high school transcript. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by aadeyi: 1:43am On May 08, 2018 |
drwrites: Well you can actually go for your visa interview anywhere provided you are a resident of that country, but my best advise for you is to jejely come back to Nigeria for your interview. I believe the reason you stated above about your desire to study MPH and a little other reason to support your claim will be enough. And most importantly be confident with yourself. |

So how did your document your micro job, because me am a personal assistant to a very big person and since he pays me personally as a very high ranking government official, I am wondering how to go about enlisting it on my DS-160 form for my application. Olusegun26: 2 Likes |

Wrong info. There's a difference between an high school transcript (grades from ss1 - ss3) and WAEC/NECO result. Don't mislead if you ain't conversant with the right info. My 2 cents aadeyi: 4 Likes |

James1997: For you to get your high school transcripts, what you needed to do is to go to your secondary school with your report card from Jss1-Sss3, your your school will list out your academics record and sign by the principal, this is what they are asking to you |

Hello bosses. I've seen posts saying that we should select from top 100 or 150 school. Times, webometrics all give different ratings. It might not look different for the top 10 schools but as one tend to go lower along the list, there is a great diversion in the ranking of schools. Please my question exactly is what is the basis of checking ranking? |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by arilewo(m): 8:43am On May 08, 2018 |
Olalekank:As for me, I used webometrics ranking to check school ratings per time for my choice and view of schools. It is the most comprehensive ranking of world universities (close to 20000 universities) and it is done semi-annually (February and August). I will advise you supplement it with US ranking of graduate program in your field of interest. |

I just want to drop this here to inspire a few people, never give up on your dreams, provided they are genuine and you know what youre doing. Whilst this forum is good, i think a lot of standards here is not really the true situation when it comes to visa and all that. So i had my visa approved yesterday 7/5/2018 after getting denied barely 2 weeks ago 23/4/2018. i will post both transcipts below first interview 23/04/2018 at the abuja visa office. Me : good morning, how are you doing vo : morning, pass your passport and I20 (i did so, he look at my course for a while), tell me in clear language about the MBA program at bleep university. Me : told him about the course as much as i could, credit hours, core courses electives etc. vo : how many schools did you aply to me : just one vo : so what are your post graduation plans me : considering the fact that i own and run a haulage and logistic company alongside my day job, i believe this program will broaden my horizon and armed with an increased knowledge base, it will enable me come back home and place my company more strategically on the nigeria labor market Vo: (nods head) who is your sponsor me : my dad (he is paying only for my tution while i am taking care of living and personal expenses, but somehow i didnt say that) vo : has he ever traveled out of the country bfore mw : no he has not vo : ok, so do you have a relative or friend in the united states and how many? me : Yes, i have just one; an elder brother in the united states vo: oh ok what does he do and where is he? me : he is a student pharmacist, he lives in Boston MS. vo : did you say student pharmacist? (i nod in the affirmative), what school is he in? me : (totally skipped, wasnt expecting the question, i couldnt remember the name of the school to be honest) errr i am sorry but i cant remember the name of the school. vo: you mean you dont know the name of the school your brother is in? are you sure youre telling me the truth, if i look him up now will i confirm what yoyre sying? me: go ahead and look him up. vo: (types for a while) your brother travelled since 2011 (i said yes), when was the last time he was in Nigeria? me : last year october vo: (types for a while) has he ever gotten married in the united states me: yes he has vo : (nods his head, types for a while and gave me the blue paper) thank you for your application, but at this time youre not qualified for a student visa. i was sad, very sad, was wondering how my brothers status should be my business, anywasy fast forward to yesterday at the lagos embassy, te place was like a market, filled to the brim vo: next applicant pls step forward me: good morning vo : good morning, pass your passport and I20 ( i did) so tell me how an MBA will help you me: well considering the fact that i am an enterpreneur that owns a company i run along side my day job, i believe getting an mba will go a long way in boosting my portfolio, and it will help me restructure and place my company more strategically in the nigeria labor market vo : (was typing all tru, suddenly looks up at me like i said something that caught her interest) so tell me about the requirements of this program, i mean the course and all that me: i broke it all down to her in details (credit hours, duratin, talked about some course, etc) vo: how many schools did you apply to? me:i applied to jst one vo : and why did you apply to jst one schl me : the schol ticked some unique boxes for me, in the sense that they have a flexible calender, bleep university is actually one of the few grad schls that offer a summer start, and i reckon this will enable me acclimatize better before the cold weather starts, also the schl tution is considerably affordable, compared to some grad schls i looked at, furthrmre bleep university has a sizeable international student body, and this will allow me fraternize with people from different cultural heritage; all these is besides the fact that bleep is a great city, read a lot of good things on the internet. vo : did you take any test? me: no it was waived by the school vo: do you have a relative or friend in the US me: yea my elder brother (she asked what he does, told her hes a student pharmacist) vo: what is your highest level of qualification me : i have a LLB in public and international law vo : oh ok, did you go to the law school? me : yes i did vo: when did you get this degree (told her 2014) and what have you been doing since then me: after my degree, i went to the law school for a year, after which i went for the compulsory youth service, then i started working at an alternative dispute resolution firm in Abuja later that year, i then floated my company which i run alongside my day job. vo : what does your company do me : (explained to her, haulage logistics etc) vo: what is your job description where you work me : told her vo: who is sponsoring you me : my dad is paying for my tuition while, i am taking care of my living and personal expenses, i have been able to save up enough for that. vo: do you have any document to show in this regards, for both of you me: yes and i handed her both SOA vo: (kept typing, looked at the docs for a while, passed back mine to me first, then kept looking at my dads and typing) is this your dads personal account or business account (told her its personal) whats your dads name (told her) continued typing then passed it back to me, continued typing, then she looked up and said the magic words,) gave me the white paper and told me ild recieve a text and all All in all, i still believe prayer is the key, my interview lasted close to 4 minutes, plenty talk, i just tried to break it down small here. be confident, be fluent, and be firm. but pray pray pray like its all that matters, and be prepared too. shallom! 27 Likes 4 Shares |

Naughtyvirgin: Bros wait fess... don't castrate me if you don't know me, I know you are the boss here but small boys like us still have small info. I have been there, done that. No school is interested in your long first term to third term ss1-ss3 results, you are not the only applicant uncle. Your WAEC/NECO is your only official high school transcript. If thats how you did yours, kudos for wasting your time, you only played yourself. Just My2cents 1 Like 1 Share |

Robert6708: As much as I would have love to congratulate you boss, but telling us the name of your school and city will do you no harm instead you bleeped them out. The essence of putting your testimony here is for people to learn and at the same time get information and idea of schools to apply to and know the process. Who knows, by you posting the name of your school, you might network with someone who is already in the school or who also just got admission to the school. That's what this forum is for. If everyone came here and bleeped out helpful information like you did, where will u be today? Giving back is giving back and not this way. Congratulations still anyway. Just my 2cents 5 Likes |

It's left for you to increase your sagacy with the info's dropped here. Probably if you read back some couple of pages or thread you'd understand better. aadeyi: |

aadeyi:I didn't want to say anything but it seems like you're "Mr know all" and it makes me want to believe that you really haven't been there as you claim. This is the definition of transcript: An inventory of the courses taken and the grades earned of a student alleged throughout a course. How does this correlate with WAEC/NECO. Even we here in Nigeria know that transcripts is a list of courses you've done throughout your secondary/university education. Just take it easy and learn regardless of who's speaking. If you still have doubts about what I told you, Google scholarships for undergraduate students in the US, tell me the requirements and explain what the high school GPA is to me, then tell me how it is calculated by the school. #peace 4 Likes |

aadeyi: i recall when my sister was processing her admission for "undergrad" about 4 years ago.........a lot of schools inaddition to WAEC/NECO still request for transcript which is your secondary school result . i think they grade both and weigh both to determine your strength , especially if you are targeting any time of funding 5 Likes |
