The Federal government should stop being reactionary to a scripted documentary by the BBC and pay more attention to unemployment and the mental health of young adults. 108 Likes 3 Shares |

Just because BBC scripted a documentary on Drug abuse in Nigeria...... Of all the killings and maiming in the land, they paid deaf ears! What if those youths are abusing drugs due to frustration and lack of jobs? Who has given a thought to creating employment and enabling environment for youths to thrive? Thought these drugs were not easy to come by in Nigeria. Am surprised to know these drugs are available to the point of abuse. Nigerians even abuse common codeine?? Absurd! A physician prescribed an anti-anxiety (drug) for a high bp friend, you know we couldn't get the drug over the counter from licensed pharmacies, he had to resort to common sleeping pill for respite. Alabukun is the only readily available over-the-shelf-drug, but I have never considered it an opiate. It's shocking how people can combine drugs with alcohol for a lasting emotional effect without any forethought of the side effect this mixture, which could be fatal. Banning these drugs is not the solution. Nigerians will always find a way to get 'high'. It's a by-product of laziness and restiveness 2 Likes |

That's what I tell my friends, all this rubbish songs our so called artists release also contribute to the promotion of this drug abuse.... Some people don't even know what the drug is all about, but since they listen to a song mentioning those drugs, they will make sure they try it. 10 Likes 1 Share |
