If you sell your existing batteries before you buy new ones; what will you use to power your inverter? |

YES . the wiring was somewhere in earlier posts by me - it is wired similar to changover. Be carefull though the contractor does not have tripping characteristics so the downstream must be protected by another fuse assuming upsteram with ELCB . or just create separate box what exactly you want to do |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Saipro(m): 11:21am On May 07, 2018 |
I apologise for going off topic but I need to solve two problems and need the most efficient way to do it. My personal workaround is largely inefficient. This is the first issue: I recently acquired a dual-band NetGear router for large homes. It accepts LAN input. I have a MiFi and a Wireless Modem but both have limited coveragein and around the building. What I want: A 3G/4G device which accepts a SIM and has LAN output yet won't break the bank. The second issue: I need a WiFi extender which can plug into the LAN sockets of my Midnite Classics. I recall having read from one or two people here using them (dapsyra comes to mind). I want to use whatever it is you've used which works. |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Barezzi(m): 3:40pm On May 07, 2018 |
@Saipro, 1. Get a 3g/Lte modem (Huawei makes several variants) 1a. Disable the wireless ssid on the modem. 2. Connect modem to a firewall to secure your network from "them" 3. Hook up firewall router to a POE switch (Edge, unifi, tp link etc) 4. Connect a unifi AP to the switch (Unifi makes several variants) 5. Centrally locate the AP. You'll get magnificent coverage. You can connect as many wireless devices as you like. 6. Connect a Powerline adapter(ethernet over power line device ) to 3 above(the poe switch) 7. Connect the second part of the adapter to your classic, and viola!! No need for wireless extenders. 8. Connect as many Lan devices as your switch can carry(example your TV points, NAS server, etc) I've done something similar, but mine is an overkill |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Saipro(m): 4:10pm On May 07, 2018 |
Barezzi: Thanks! Kinda seems like your idea requires through a PC at some stage (the Huawei modem?) The NetGear hs NAS capability via USB (also inbuilt firewall and some other security features). I have a number of switches too (leftovers from a datacenter project). Trying to avoid anything beyond PnP if I can. Would wanna avoid the overkill as well. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Chuckdee(m): 4:32pm On May 07, 2018 |
Saipro: Hi Saipro, Most routers with inbuilt 3G/4G Capability don't come very cheap. The tp-link TL-MR6400 (See attached pictures)will serve you as it has a sim slot and has Lan ports too. It goes for around 50k Here in Abuja. For your Second issue, I use a TP-link wifi extender that has worked flawlessly for me. Not only does it give you a lan port for your midnight classic, it also extends and improves that your already existing wifi a whole lot... (see attached pictures.) It was $20 when i bought it Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NR2VMNC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by kiekie1(m): 12:41pm On May 08, 2018 |
It depends on the camera position /view. The 250a fuse cartridges comes in similar dimensions !

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Barezzi(m): 12:46pm On May 08, 2018 |
Fuse holder dimension. The price is of little consequence, na the size. I want something petite as reflected in the picture I posted for use on my classic. I've seen them online in different sizes baba. I have the 3-pole 250A isolator which I use for "Emergency battery disconnect". They come in 2 and 3 pole variants. kiekie1: 1 Like |

sharks776: Based on the looks and form factor, as well as the fact that it uses WatchPower as it's control software, I can conclude that it's a re-branded Axpert-based inverter (other rebrands are IPowerPlus, MPPSolar, GennexTech). They are very good inverters (and i can swear by them). I've used two axperts so far - I dropped the 24V model because I wanted a 48V system. The only issues I can see are: * Axperts dont deal well with loads over 50% capacity, especially where most of the load is coming from a heating device (iron, oven, water heater etc) * The hybrids manufactured before 2016 suffer from the 'premature float bug' where the inverter jumps to float after spending just a few seconds/minutes in absorb. While there's a firmware with a bug fix available on the internet for the 5kVA/48V models, I haven't seen such a fix for any of the other models. It's not a problem for me because I use an external Charge Controller. |
