Folabimi: I was also contacted in February but haven't heard from them since then though I missed the documentation. Have you tried calling the Hr contact that called you for documentation? |

This is totally unfair. After being made to wait this long, we get to hear 'no accommodation ' without any reason. So, in one week, I should make accommodation preparations for 3 months in a place I've never been to in my life. Kudos FBN. God de. I pray for a miracle in between.. 4 Likes |

God should just help me to stop ranting. First bank, please we don't know your reason but kindly consider this whole accommodation issue. I know someone(staff) is seeing this. Even if we have to feed ourselves or pay rent in your facilities, I don't mind. But, this news has drained me. Let me just sleep and wake up tomorrow and reread the mail. Maybe, something will change. 4 Likes |

Latest development so far is that there is no accommodation. Please, Tomilayo Esan (Dean of TS) ma'am in your humble office I and other candidates do plead that FBN considers the no accommodation stand, we have planned with accommodation offered in mind all this while and this move would be hard hitting on us. I'm referring to we out of Lagos candidates. We know accommodation is not our right but a privilege but please as future staff of the bank please consider our plea. Lots of us are coming from far locations, some of us don't even know anyone in Lagos. Even if we have to pay for accommodation on TS ground, or even if you guys take it out of our stipend, please any option you guys come up with would be accepted. I know the dean of TS reads this thread, please consider us ma'am. 5 Likes |

Ma'am Esan, my two palms are stretched before me, one on another, in a posture of plea. Reconsider this move, please. Please. Let the bills be on us, we don't mind at all. Withdraw the luxuries our colleagues enjoyed...we don't mind. Help us. nlanded: 4 Likes |

Congratulations guys.... It feels good to know you have crossed one of the hurdles of life. To be honest, this is what you have been praying for. The issue of no accommodation is an unfortunate event that is almost impossible to change, but guess what.... You have always prevailed. See it as a challenge and also an opportunity. Most banks conduct training without accommodation, yet the participants survive. I feel at this point we should not have this 'entitlement mentality ' ..start preparing for TS. Wish you all the best guys. 2 Likes |

Re: 2016 Firstbank Graduate Trainee Programme by fayte: 7:38pm On May 08, 2018 |
You are a suspect. Well, it's not really an entitlement mentality. If this has been a trend, many people will be prepared to attend ts from various locations. It's 1 week notice and while it looks like 7 days, it isn't really up to that. Some have to be in Lagos earlier than that to actually find accommodation before 14th or 16th as the case may be. Before you travel, you have to put your stuff in place because prepping for three months stay outside home, isn't beans. You need to source for cash for accommodation, feeding, transport and basic running around as not everyone has more than enough Now. All these, in how many days? Then resumption stress too. Even if this is to build us for the stress coming, it's a whole lot. The mail alone is giving headache. Meanwhile, nothing is impossible. It can still be changed if they want reconsider, which I still pray they will. I don't even know if your congratulations are in order, so no thanks. Roy11: 2 Likes |

@fayte, i know how that feels. @Roy11 has said what needs to be said, however, choose to look at the bright side of things. Many are out of Lagos residents, but have adapted and are waxing stronger. |
Re: 2016 Firstbank Graduate Trainee Programme by Divami: 7:56pm On May 08, 2018 |
Pls @baritone point us in their direction cos I’m out of ideas. What if we don’t have cash to even get ourselves accommodation? N we r supposed to also be ready for the mental task ahead...I’m tired pls. 1 Like |
