Kog45: i dont disrespect the dead but it hurts me when people paint keshi as the messiah of our football but was sacked unjustly. why is it that every keshi fan out there does nothing but pray for rohr to fail? for christ sake you and i never gave this team a chance when the world cup qualifiers was drawn, we found our beloved team against 3 afcon winners, an Algerian team that was ranked number 1 in Africa as of then, a Cameroonian team that just got crowned afcon champions few months before the draw and a never say die Zambian team who we never find it easy against. i started having believe on this when rohr and his boys got 3 points away to Zambia. the German was able assemble a team in no distant time and displayed an attacking style of football that made them scary before opposing teams. after the defeat to south africa the team came back stronger and walloped Cameroon in uyo by 4 goals to nil! went to cameroon on the return leg and almost got away with 3 points if not for ezenwa's recklessness. watching the team you will see a unit that understands each other coupled with harmony, love and respect for one another.it gladdens my heart to know that the nff have act fast by giving rohr a new contract just because he is on the right track notwithstanding the outcome olf the teams outing in Russia 3 Likes 1 Share |

Sir are we going to breeze past ghosts to the semi finals? Let’s be realistic to talk about who our likely opponents will be at the advanced stages. We can’t just set goals blindly as if we are a nation of stars. Let’s remain hopeful that we can get to the SF or even win the cup, but at the same time let’s not lose sight of realism. MetalJigsaw: If fetching water would make the team better any player should be willing to do so. If Victor was to listen to wat u guys are saying he would never track back to help the defense. Like I said this is the world cup we are talking about. U guys keep talking potency but u forget we are the underdogs and we will not see too much of the ball. 1 Like |

Kog45: Oh as a footballer Keshi was like a god in the Green Eagles. This he displayed both on and off the field. Even with our small black and white TVs then it was not difficult to identify Keshi when he was on the ball. He was a defense Marshall particularly in the 80s. He was almost as influencial as the coach on and off the field of play. Little wonder he was called "The Boss". He was always destined to be a Successful coach. I think he followed the footsteps of his predecessor Christian Chukwu who was nicked named "Chairman". These were MEN that led the Eagles back then. 2 Likes |

bro you may not like keshi but you can't ignore that he left a positive mark in nigerian football. he came in when the super eagles were the butt of jokes all over the soccer world especially from fellow african countries calling us super chickens. maybe you have forgotten how embarrassing that period was. he also coached us to an unexpected AFCON victory winning in style beating favourites like the drogba led ivory coast. he also qualified us for the world cup and took us past the group stage into the second round equalling our best ever performance. all this he achieved in 2 years through grit and hard work building from the bottom with home based players. something it took the much heralded clemens westerhof 5 years to achieve. the big boss had his faults like every normal human being which we all criticized him for but we can't because of those short comings say he wasn't our best ever manager. as for rohr i like him he's also contributing to the success of the super eagles but until he matches or surpasses keshi's achievements then bro there is no basis for comparison. like every sincere nigerian fan i wish rohr and the super eagles success during and after the world cup charlesemeka85: 4 Likes |

i'm happy we don't have the pressure of being favourites we can prepare in peace and stay humble. nobody gave us a prayer getting out of our world cup qualifying group so this should serve as good motivation for the players. don't mind some of these analysts and their ignorance isn't it one i saw the other day that referred to salisu yusuf as the super eagles manager? just bone them we know the enlightened ones both foreign and local safarigirl: 2 Likes |

Keshi remains d best ever whether he took carpenters or not to world cup instead of players, in as much as d records are there, and as at today,no coach has surpass d records, rohr hasn't achieve 2/3rd of keshis' achievement. |

Haha!! That makes two of us, bro. There was quite a substantial amount of assumptions in your post as well. First you presumed that the current crop players are better the players that were available for Keshi, which to me isn't based on reality. As a matter of fact, I would argue otherwise: Goalkeepers: Vincent Enyeama is better than anybody we have right now. I am quite sure you can't argue that fact. (Advantage Keshi) CBs: Oboabona of 2014 is probably better than Balogun (But let's call these two a wash) Omeruo of 2014 is probably better than Ekong (Let's call it a wash) RBs: I will rate Efe Ambrose of 2014 over Shehu Abdullahi any day (Adv. Keshi) LBs: Oshinawa is better than Echiejile (Adv. Keshi) DMs/CMs: John Obi Mikel is better than Wilfred Ndidi (Adv. Keshi) Onazi of 2014 is better than Onazi of 2018 (Adv. Keshi) AMs/Strikers: VicMo of 2018 is better than VicMo of 2014 (advantage Rohr) Ahmed Musa of 2014 is better than Moses Simon (Adv. Keshi) Emmanuel Emenike is better than Jude Ighalo (Adv. Keshi) Osaze Odemwingie is better than Kelechi Iheanacho (Adv. Keshi) You don see am? The progress we're making with the current team is that we now have a team structure/shape. I mean, we now play under a system unlike during the time of Keshi. In fact, if you were to handover the current team to Keshi (RIP), we wouldn't have qualified in the first place. Kog45: Thank you Sir, some folks here want to start making excuses for rohr already while maintaining that keshi was a bad coach. Let me remind folks here that since we all agree that we now have better collection of players than in 2014, we have no excuse than to better our past records in Russia. 2 Likes |
