JGracious: Lolllzzz... I remembered how the mothers I met in dt general hospital were arguing n showing me the immunization cards that the vaccine is included and it's free. It was when I publicly asked the two matrons n a nurse that they believed it wasn't included. The funny thing is that they won't even talk about most of these vaccines that they don't administer and they'll discourage mothers from considering giving their los. |

sassyangel1: Lemme add to what you already know and for the benefit of those that don't know. One of the brand of rotavirus vaccine given in Nigeria is Rotarix made by glaxosmithkline. 2 doses of the vaccine is given. A minimum interval of 4wks is between the first and second dose. Mininimum age for the first dose of rotavirus vaccine is 6wks just as you stated while the maximum age for taking the second dose is 8months. It is a vaccine that helps in preventing severe diarrhea in babies. Even if the baby happens to suffer diarrhea after getting the vaccine, it can be better managed. modified: Just learnt that the other brand of rotavirus vaccine Rotateq made by merck vaccines is also available in Nigeria and is given in 3 doses. 3 Likes 4 Shares |

Congrats to all other mamas that have delivered. Please i have a question. I don't know if anyone is familiar with this CT pelvimetry that is done for ftm. I did mine last week and it shows pelvic inlet is 11.9cm while the normal gap should be 13.5cm (all other parameters normal/above). I've met a Doctor and he said I still have a chance at VD but that if progress is slow, they'd go for CS. Explained that the inlet is not too small for baby but they can't take chance of too long delivery not been sure of if baby is coming through or not. My aunt is suggesting I go straight to CS instead of VD and risking ECS. I hope to see another Doctor (still same hospital) at next ANC for another opinion. I'm about 5" 3 or so. I know some people say height matters sometimes. Baby's size is also normal, scan EDD is exact as LMP. is anyone familiar with this , experienced it or know someone that can comment on it? I want to really understand it better and what the odds are to save myself myself from VD and then ECS. I had really hoped for VD for my Children. I guess if I go for CS now, it means all other children would also be CS. |

iaatmgirl: I don't have idea of how the pelvimetry is read. I was asked to do a pelvimetry as well, I'm 5'4 But I didn't do it cause from what I gathered from doctor Google, a pelvimetry is not an accurate determinant of a woman's chances of VD cause the pelvis expands when labour comes. I had a VD, altho I had a small baby Think you should seek a 2nd opinion to be sure Hope this helps 1 Like |

GlamMrsO:I didn't o! But my younger sister did and it really affected her self esteem. Hers went away with constant sitting on wooden stool with her legs closed. Can't remember how long it took sha. You should try it! And just tell yourself it's part of the price you paid for your baby cos it can be Soo upsetting and embarrassing. All the best. Prevention... Sit with your legs closed immediately after birth and don't sit on sofas. 1 Like |

icekwuin: Take a chill pill mama. There are many possibilities... Mamas online may not have a good answer to your question. There is a search bar at the top of the page to help with your queries cos the probability that your question has been answered before is quite high Mamas that answer questions do it out of love and care. I could go on and on.... Oya smile. |

icekwuin: Getting a 7months old baby to eat other kinds of food apart from taking milk can be a huge task at times. You have to wear patience like wrapper and blouse to do it successfully. Some babies carry their picky eating style till 1/2yrs sef. What kind of foods have you introduced.? Try and start with soft foods such as pap, fruit(apple/banana) purees, oats etc. You can also try age appropriate cereals such as heinz, cerelac, gerber and the likes. please note that your baby does not have to eat a big bowl of food. Up to 4 teaspoons of food is ok as their stomach is still quite small. giving food to less than a year old is complimentary feeding, so milk is still their main meal. You can also introduce formula and get someone else to feed him. HTH |

He is 3yrs plus.... so there is no pin doing whatever anywhere. From research and hearsay, it doesn't happen to babies 4months and above . Anyways you know best. BTW, friend is rubbing her baby the traditional medicine already. rezzy: |

icekwuin: Morning I don't have answers to your question but I think you should make use of the search option. Sometimes a question has been treated sevearally and other times one is not sure of the best response. Just search baby food or formula or weaning or puree or such similar words. You'd come across previous discussions. It's not easy for mamas answering same questions every 2/3 weeks. I give kudos to mamas that take out time to respond. 3 Likes |

SapphirePRINCEX: Morning Not open to only salary earners, it's only common with salary earners because employers pay the whole or part of the premium. .it's an health insurance program. You pay something regularly to them and they'd cover your medical bills. You can approach anyone of them for further details. Mind you, there are different packages dependent on how much you pay so ask to know the benefit of your proposed package so no surprises at the hospital. They also have their own hospital list that you'd pick from depending on your premium/package. 1 Like |

A woman told me that it occurs as a result of one not closing her legs and sitting on hard surface immediately after childbirth. Try as much as possible not to open your legs too wide while sitting. Whenever you feel like you are about to pass gas through your vee when inside your house, raise one of your bum up and the gas will pass through the anus. Eventually, It will stop. Just take your mind off it. Don't be worried as far as, it is not fistula but this also can be corrected. GlamMrsO: 1 Like |
