When I was in your shoes, I chose #Boerboel because I love the look, the breed temperament, how heavy and solid they used to be, they are trainable and not overly aggressive like the Caucasian and even their shorter coats means lesser work compared to the Caucasian.

I spent last night online browsing about the two dogs but still wasn't able to pick out which one ..our house got broken few weeks back when no one was at home dats why i need to get it asap

Yeah, they are both guard dogs, boerboels are used to guard farms/properties while Caucasians are used to guard flocks of sheep. Which means they are both active and aggressive but do you want and can you handle an OVERLY-aggressive dog? That gets angry and misbehave most of the time, to you and others?

About the growing big, they both grow very big, but boerboels have more weight than Caucasians, on average.

I wanna go for caucasian cus I love the hair on thier body ...but when I came on here and reading about stuffs I stumbled on pedigree now am confused

Okay, since you've decided already then go for it. But be sure of what you're committing yourself into. Pedigree has to do with the originality, authenticity and quality of the pup.. Kinda like a Pup that can be traced to it's deep roots with certainty.

Quality doesn't always mean pedigree... I have seen non pedigree dogs look better and confirm to standard than some pedigree. When there is a database for a dog from past generations to present, then the dog is said to be a pedigree

Sure, there's no need to doubt that. Everyone that has experience with dogs in Nigeria must have seen that due to the fact that most breeders here are whack breeders and just breed pedigree with pedigree without making proper selection. But when you see a pedigree dog from a foreign or reputable breeder. There's no non -Pedigree dog here that will stand it. I repeat, no non-pedigree dog here will stand it. Thus, that's where quality and pedigree goes hand in hand.

Caucasian can bark for the whole world not only this planet alone lol. I couldn't well sleep yesterday night. I will go out there would be no one. I will move close to it's cage it will keep silent immediately I open the door to go back inside it will start barking loudly and angrily again while wagging it's tail lol...
Well Caucasian is a dog that will stress you, it might decide not to eat Indomie and fish mill and at the same time not eat the Diamond food too. So u wil be bewildered lol. But its a good and very beautiful dog too...

The hair on its body too.... if it tangles or form lumps... well another story for another day ooo

My Rottweiler rarely barks, even as i am complaining the Cauc barks alot, some Caucs bark more than mine... So i thank d Lord

I personally would advice u go for neither of those breed but seems u want a giant breed ND have brought urself down to either a Caucasian or a boerboel, I will give u features of both, ND give u reasons y u should go for one

Size: both boerboels and Caucasian are giant breed, but if u re able to get a quality Caucasian, they are far bigger than boerboels.
Advice: if u re a first time dog owner owning a dog that is overly large, might be really difficult, walking my neopolitan mastifs are really tiresome.
But if what u want is a very big ND huge dog, go for a Caucasian, boerboels may be bulky but not all are tall. Majority seem short compared to their weight.

Grooming: this is very important, most people that say they like hairy dogs don't actually know how to maintain it, sure it looks good when u see a well groomed Caucasian, but can u groom urs to be dt way? I own a long haired German Shepherd which I groomed well, ND looked so attractive, my sister requested for d dog, ND not long after he had dread locks.
Advice: if u know u will not be capable of handling the grooming choose a boerboel

Shedding: Caucasian shed allot compared to boerboel so if u don't want hair around u house, a Caucasian is not for u.

Appraised dogs: if u want ur dogs Appraised, currently boerboel breeders association has made it possible for boerboel owners to have their dog Appraised in Nigeria, Caucasian haven't gotten that yet

Ferocious: if u want a ferocious dog, the chances of getting that with a Caucasian is higher, not like am saying boerboels can't be fierce but most boerboels brought to 9ja re usually breeding quality, so u ve higher chances with a caucasian

thanks I've gotten 1 already it will arrived tomorow from Jos it's a Caucasian I'm new to its so I'll definitely need advice on training her ..like the foods to giver and all that she is just six weeks old

My dog rejects food like mad. Is your dog female or male. Mine is female and 9 months old. Can I see a picture of yours?
