fxuser, pls add julius begga to ur analyses o

ok will hv a quick glance
- trading at a 3 month highs , d swing traders are happy for sure
- monthly chart still bearish wh is understandable cos d long term trend has been making lower ''monthly'' highs & lows for 5 years
- Weekly charts supports d bearish fatigue , chart shows positive ''Weekly'' RSI divergence wh correlates with increased buying interest
- Weekly RSI also closing above d 50 level .. so expect short term bullishness mood to continue
- the next resistance or test is d YTD high ard N32 levels .. nxt week
- cant make sense of d daily chart looks like a minute chart cause of the poor volume nature of d stock
- but price is above d 50dma (short term bullish)
- still below the 200dma (long term bearish)
- avg daily vols hv moved from about 35k units to over a 100k units more daily activity (still don't like d vols #IMO)
- just over 1 million units traded dis month, 6m last month and 2m before that (keep in mind)
- so if u can swing it , why not !

Not or buy/sell recomm oh
#cheers

But then if it's concentrated in a stock, when news or funny events unfold, you wouldn't rest on your oars except you are the owner of the company or you know what others don't know.

For me ooo....price is key. The lower the better for a good stock.

And that is why I pack all my eggs in one basket and watch it. Trap every news and once it is not well, mo ti gbe jaaaaaaaaaaa.

Assumptions they say is the mother of all screw ups! There's a difference between assumption and reality. Why did traders rush in to sell at N1.90 today? Because it became clear that DBN's result is out and bad. No more assumptions/hope that the result will be fine.

Skye Bank still has no result and can trade at whatever price. Also, you should have noticed that Skye Bank has been under manipulation since January. If you follow closely, you would have seen it.

That said, the only thing that can save DBN is if they quickly engage an MM for price stability. Else, forget it.

How long will MM stabilize this?

Abeg which money MM dey use to.buy these stock sef? Hope no be depositors funds? Union Bank readily comes to mind.

Nope, Agba is already out. He sold way earlier.

But money will be made on this stock though. A reversal will give a sharp 40%.

It was not, but FY17 was too bad and they needed to resort to profit reportage for Q1 at the very least to save face.

Is that profit to save face? Do you know what Diamond used to report as profit? Diamond once traded at above N8 when they were declared to be SIB by CBN.

...To those who loose in DB, so sorry. My portfolio here is less than 1%. I was at diamond bank today to re-activate my old account. I took time to evaluate their staff (sense of urgency, staff customer ratio, arrival rate etc). I was not surprised that the bank performed woefully. They are damn too over-staff for my liking with no sense of urgency. Yo may say probably that branch! Their board is youthful but I have some reservations about their business risk managers. I will take time to analyse their result but I think we should give it to the board for transparency in their financial reporting. I see a take - over from a major investor. The company still has some potentials. I will wait for it at 70k junction.

Meanwhile, my Eterna oil is gradually moving up as I have prophesy - #10 is the juncture. GSK is still hovering as I have earlier analysed - will continue to hover around #20-24. Another special dividend coming soon in this FY. Waiting for Honeywell to give me long hold profit - I will hold this for long time.

Well said. But I see the stock going down for just a week, thereafter, it may resists a further down movement.

What if the market is generally bearish at the time and it is caught in the melee?

Keen watchers of the market know that Diamond is on a slow but steady rise upwards.

Barring any seriously negative impactful outcome of both their FY 2017 and Q1 2018 results, it shall soon be on its usual catch up race with FCMB.

Going down below N1 might not necessary be on a straight line. The bus will always stop, drop old passengers, pick up new ones and then continue. It's the destination that matters. And there will be choppings for the strong "hearted" ones.

Agbalowomeri:
My stock picks for a 50% target from end of April till end of May based on my belief that May will be bullish;

1) Fidelity; likely to declare dividend in a bull

2) Honeywell; traditionally this is it's period of capital appreciation based on dividend expectation

3) Diamond; remote belief

I will pick either Fidelity or Honeywell, maybe both?
It is certain I won't buy diamond.

Happy investing

The Diamond Bank FY2017 results did not surprise me. To me, it was expected with the unnecessary delays.

However, the woeful performance is good news. I know the stock will get better in the future and I even pray it falls to 50 or 65 kobo. At this price, the wise ones will acquire the stock in bulk at a cheap price in anticipation of the future growth.

One thing I have learnt in the stock market is that someone’s downfall is another person’s blessing.

Use the money and buy Jberger and thank me on or before the next 80 days. Their 2018 Q2 result will open many peoples eyes.
Their growth in PAT is moving with speed, before people will notice from angle am seeing it, it might take a little time, but very soon.

What does vetiva research result says on Diamond bank?.
My research is always on fact not sentiment, The way I discovered Dangote flour when they started with good result, was the way I discovered Eternal, CCNN, Okomo oil, as of them no recommendations analyst recommended them, but I do recommended them as of then, today what is happening.
Jberger and FCMB has good future, because the environment has started to favour them.
PAT, PE, and EPS still remain the yardstick.

Dangoteflour has performed, but with their current price, I rate Eterna oil ahead of them.
Also Fidelity bank has performed, but I still rate FCMB ahead of them.

Trust me...by this time next month, possibly before, Diamond Bank may be trading around opening price today for the following reasons

1. There will be those too stunned to believe this is happening and will either put in more buy orders or refuse to sell
2. There are those with infinite confidence in the bank and have become emotional about the investment
3. There are those that believe the bank is one of not more than 3 that are upfront about the true state of its loan book and as such the market has already priced that in...downside is limited
4. Many will be watching the action of the core investors and undecided if a shakeout is the overarching intention
5. Some will be too focused on upside to care. The market will decide everything. Afterall, this same share was trading around 80k less than 15 months ago and did rise to N3.47 a couple of months back.
6. Finally, the X factor

The market markers will not allow their bank to suffer, don't be surprise seeing Diamond bank price ahead of Fidelity bank before this month end.
Their price might not go below 1.75 or 1.80, as far as their co competitors FCMB and Fidelity stays around 2.4 and 2.5, Diamond will stii catch up with them.
Diamond bank might touch 2 next week.

Going through the thread, im suprised people believe diamond will fall below N1.

It cant fall by more than 30% before establishing a new trading range i believe

Im looking at 15 to 20% fall max.
