A very significant proportion of vehicles imported to Nigeria have their mileage altered after purchase and arrival in Nigeria, before sale.

This is referred to as Odometer Tampering/Rollback or Clocking Miles, and is often done to give the appearance that a vehicle has not undergone much use, to raise the prices at sale.
