Because they play in the NPFL?

The U20 is not for academy players.

If you have any proofs of any over age please do us a favor by bringing it up.

No, because i know a few that are overaged...

Uduokhai and Akpoguma have as much claim as being German as they are Nigerians. Jordan Torunarigha on the other hand has 2 Nigerian parents including one who played actively in Nigeria.

I’m not insisting. The opportunity remains open post Russia for any player who identifies with Nigeria and proves good enough
Kog45:
Joebie i don't think these guys are ready for us

Rohr threw wide card for these guys to represent Nigeria at WC but still they remain adamant. If we are insisting then why blaming Tammy.

Good age is still on Ekong and Awaziem sides and hope to see Balogun and Omeruo spending some years more.

I think we are going to discover the likes of Awaziem after WC.

Ighalo is not a consistent striker. He failed to score in his last two matches in a league like the Chinese league.

Let's try out other available options.
If you've ever watched him play these days you'd agree with me that dude is playing with a lot of caution to avoid an injury.

Not trying to support age fraud but if he entered at ~16 (which is not unusual) he could be done by 19. HND programs typically last for 3 years. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Do you know when he graduated and what age he entered?

Yes, assuming he just graduated. The Nigerian public school years are not that straightforward anyways.

He did not just graduate.

Let us leave it there.

Honestly am okay with Kayode or Oyekwuru but with Musa,Simeon,Moses and Alex in the team i don't see Oyekwuru making it especially he is just coming back from injury.I see Kayode as third striker behind Ighalo and Iheanacho.

Nevertheless the third striker position is open for grab and i will not be surprised seeing players like Sadiq,Simmy and Onuachu gatecrashed.

See, I am also against age cheating. But one thing I do is not to jump so quickly to condemn the age of a player when I don't have solid evidence.

Seems a lot of us have refused to embrace this team because of perceived age cheating. Because of 1 or 2 insinuations you condemn a whole team.

Me I can only wish them well because the future of Nigerian football lies with this crop.

We missed out in the last U17 and U20 WC of which we are already seeing the negative effects in the lack of quality players behind Iheanacho and Osimhen's groups. We need to bridge that gap now else we fall back to the mess we found ourselves 5-10 years ago.

People enter school these days at even 14/15.

Imagine when Taiwo Awoniyi wrote WAEC. 2013. Assuming he gained admission that same year wouldnt he have graduated by now? Meanwhile he is 20years old now.

I support the team but we still have problems with age that should not be swept under the carpet.

There are some players that many in league circles already know they are above the age limit but we let them off.

Let us say, we win the the u20 WC with this crop, the overaged players in the group will not provide much longevity. It is the young ones that will be there in 10 years time.

How many of Yobo's Nigeria 99 teammates were still playing football by 2010-2014? Age had caught up with most of them.

When I was graduating one of my classmates was 14/15, two years younger than the rest of us. There was a girl in my school who was 9 in form 1. So it's not uncommon. Some schools also make up the time. University of Ilorin is one example. As far as I know students graduate within 4/5 years regardless of strikes and other interruptions.
I hope he is not being dishonest because it not only discredits him, it discredits the country.

Thank you.I think this age of a thing is being exaggerated.

I'm one of the old school here and finished secondary school at 16 marked my 16 years birthday during my WAEC and i have a friend who did 5 years course and graduated at 20 in 1992.

I have said it here that a friend was in Japan 93 camp at 16 and his real age,so we still have them young doing it.

All of my siblings entered university at 14/15/16... My immediate younger sister was out of school by 19 and she studied law, a 5 year course.
