Too much ignorance on this thread ... First and formost you if you understood of a jet engine works you will know you can't push an aircraft to start any of the jet engines .. and two that's a regular procedure you see there because planes don't come with reverse gears for it's taxi motion so must always be assisted backwards by ground crews using a vehicle known as a Push Back Tug which is rented form airport services for a fee or in the case of smaller planes like the one above you get hands to push it back instead of renting a Push Back tug 8 Likes 1 Share

SalamRushdie:Oga, why not use the pushback truck instead of pushing it by ze strength of ze arms...that's the point! I won't fly with that airline...most folks won't. That practice you support is against international best practice...I presume; what else have they got in store? Fly with some of the aircraft engine malfunctioning?

BiggerbossAmani: There is no airport where this can't happen ..like I said many factor would have caused the ground crew to opt for a human push back for this small aircraft. 1 : lack of a small push back vehicle to fit the size of this plane so instead of risking damaging the landing gear they opt for this method 2: from the type of plane involved and the surrounding this might be a very small remote landing strip that handles small aircrafts only sobhas no need own an expensive push back tug vehicle . 3. The crew of the aircraft must have opted for this method to reduce operational cost . 8 Likes 1 Share |

Come on its just a Push Back..the military does this everyday for high performance predator drones .. the aircraft in that picture is a small turbo prop and believe me most small jets including privates jets are pushed back like this one time or the other especially in the hangar area 6 Likes |

SalamRushdie:Your points...1,2,3, you finely articulated only buttressed my earliest summation...poor management. Good thing we are getting educated on how airlines circumvent certain "safety policies?" somewhat to save cost. Thanks for the information too. 1 Like |

9jaArea: That’s Senegal. What if it’s Nigeria? Haven’t we seen Alhajis in overflowing robes using a ladder to get into an aeroplane? Haven’t we seen a plane surrounded by cows? What’s the big deal that some Senegalese men were seen pushing a plane? |
