Reps order Julius Berger to produce report on EFCC building

The House of Representatives committee on drugs, narcotics and financial crimes has ordered Julius Berger construction company to within two weeks produce the progress report of the EFCC headquarters building which it is handling.
The committee also directed that the company should within the period sponsor its consultants on the project to Germany for the inspection of some equipment it said it had procured for the building.
Chairman of the committee, Rep Jagaba Adams Jagaba (PDP, Kaduna), who gave the order during the committee’s oversight to the EFCC headquarters expressed dissatisfaction over the project.
Jagaba expressed concerns that the level of work done so far at the site was not commensurate with the amount paid and directed Julius Berger to ensure that progress was made when next the committee visits the site.
Representative of Julius Berger, Olu-Kayode Dickson, who is the project coordinator said as far as the company was concerned, the project was completed structurally, that what remained were some fittings, saying N9.39 billion which is 51 percent out of the N18.867 billion of the contract was paid.
