to me i am still looking for Mikel replacement , even Leon Balogun's replacement is not there

Mikel is the only player that is indispensable right now but i feel Iwobi will do a good job if given the responsibility. Awaziem and Omeruo can cover for Balogun. Against Argentina, we had Omeruo, Ekong and Awaziem for a while and the defence was solid

The 2014 team only had a first 11..

TheSuperNerd:

Iheanacho was not fit for all parts of the first half of the season and I believe the previous pages of this huge thread did justice to that with news and updates. Feel free to scroll back and check them up. You denying knowledge of Iheanacho's toe injury relapse after that first Arsenal game (when he came in as a sub) is very very funny. Leicester kept updating the public before every match day us on how he was trying to battle out of his toe injury and how they must take it easy on him. And how ehen he is fully fit, Leicester will see the best of Nacho... these were even Shakespeare's comments. Egbon Forgiveness... you not knowing this shows your argument is invalid. I will end it here.

Actually he was fit but considered not good enough.

He was fit to play in the U23's and fit to play in the cup games. So the notion that he was unfit simply lacks merit. The issue is comparison standard for selection.

If the yardstick for selection is present continous performance then Kayode should at the very least be in consideration and not frozen out quite dubiously as I see it.

Because in reality KC has had a poor season no matter the window dressing or excuses presented. After 21 games in the EPL and three goals is simply not good enough for a £25 million striker.

However his track record for SE is very good and that gives him the nod not his current club performance.

Wasn't comparing both. I said Umar was in form and yet didn't make the squad. Rohr obviously knows what he's looking for in a striker and he doesn't feel Umar possess it. He could've easily dropped Lokosa if he was that keen on Umar

I laff but not in mockery.

Do you really think that Rohr is totally in charge of team selection and that there are no other influences

Yes sire, I think he's very much in charge of team selection and while there are obviously other influences and attempts to influence, the list reflects the players he has worked with and he wants to work with sir.

From the list, Rohr is in charge.

He chose players in form like Lokosa and Simy.. He also chose players that he has worked with...

The biggest word for me in football is opportunity not ability. What you do with your opportunity will reflect your ability.

But when opportunity is denied nobody will know your ability.

Finally from all the players given opportunity this is about the best we can get. I think it is proper and good for local league motivation to give players like Eze and Lokosa opportunity.

Interesting, could you be gracious enough to kindly educate me on the players he wasn't ALLOWED to work with and who the 'people' giving him the go-ahead are. Quick flash back at the final 23 man list to the last World Cup in Brazil.

Full Squad
Goalkeepers: Vincent Enyeama, Austin Ejide, Chigozie Agbim

Defenders: Joseph Yobo, Elderson Echiejile, Juwon Oshaniwa, Godfrey Oboabona, Azubuike Egwuekwe, Kenneth Omeruo, Efe Ambrose, Kunle Odunlami

Midfielders: John Mikel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, Ramon Azeez, Michael Uchebo, Reuben Gabriel

Strikers: Osaze Odemwingie, Ahmed Musa, Shola Ameobi, Emmanuel Emenike, Babatunde Michael, Victor Moses, Uche Nwofor

If not for Keshi's great coaching and tactics, these guys would've left the group stage empty handed

So you are saying if Shahktar Donetsk are in English premiership they will be in top 4?? My brother, on a normal day, can u bet Shahktar Donetsk will beat Chelsea or Arsenal who couldn't make d top 4? Or unrealistically beat any of Man city, Man united, Liverpool or Tottenham from top 4. What about Seria A. Juventus, Napoli, Roma, Lazio, Inter will kill Donetsk on a good day. If Donetsk are that good for Epl top 4, how come they hardly pass group stages in Ucl or more realistically, win Europa? All these blind arguments because u wanna sell Kayode to us. Fear God naa...

Which club first shartered Manchester City unbeating record? Shaktar Donetsk. grin

Arsenal will be work over for Shakhtar Donetsk. grin

All the few times Chelsea played with Shahktar Donetsk, we fumbled. grin

If Manchester City chop am, who is Manchester United and Tottenham not to chop am? grin

Roma was also beaten by Shahktar Donetsk this season. Roma was so scared to attack against Shahktar Donetsk hence the park bus system of play. grin

Who is Inter, Lazio and Napoli not to chop am for Shakhtar Donetsk hand? grin

Shahktar Donetsk has won the Europa League in this 21st century. They were even in the Semi finals 2/3 seasons ago.

Shakhtar Donetsk do come out from the group stage.

Don't ridicule Shahktar Donetsk because of one player. grin

Oh please, give me a break! If he's not a tribalist what is he? Can you name a single non-Yoruba player that either Forgiveness or his alter-ego Komekn has ever promoted on this forum? Please name one! The man is a tribal chieftain and I will tell him that to his face if I meet him. I don't give a rat a$$. He and his ilks are the problem with Nigeria today!

I totally gave up on this dude when he kept promoting Dele Alampasu. Someone who has never played even a single game for his clubside. Someone who's been given an invite time and time again but failed to impress. Now, on what basis would any sane human being keep hyping him here, as if he's Nigeria's best goalkeeper since Emmanuel Okala

Now, the flavor of the month is seems to be Olarenwaju Kayode. I practically watched ALL the games Kayode played for Girona this season and I can tell you without any fear of contradictions that Kayode is an average player! There is NOTHING special about him and he's way below several other players in the pecking order. It just staggers my imagination why an intelligent guy like SuperNerd would decide to engage Forgiveness. Are you that bored or something

O pari

I had to look up the meaning of alter ego again because I couldn't believe the context in which you use it.

You used the word tribalist as a negative descriptive term.

I really do not understand tribalism. I was born in the UK, came to Nigeria to complete hight school returned to the UK to complete university.

So I speak Igbo first, then my Urhobo / Isoko and if course Warri pidgin and then a smattering of Yoruba.

I would describe myself as totally detribalised.

Recommended players;
Ademola Lookman
Fred Onyedinma ( off the boil now)
Seyi Ojo
Dominic Iorfa
Obagoal first on my list unfortunately Injured.
Efe Ambrose
Sone Aluko
Uche Ikpeazu
Tega Onomah
Tega Abrahams
Ovie Ejaria

Anybody going to Kaliningrad to watch the game I'm intending to go Lithuania seem to be entry cheap flights from Manchester. Maybe then they can testify that I'm not forgiveness LOL

Or if you like I'll be in London to watch Nigeria play England. I'll be with quite a few former Nigerian internationals.

.
.only babatunde Micheal brought some spark to the team as a new player.....
Kudos should be given to gernot rohr for not allowing the NFF to dictate for him!
two days ago, I said it was LUCK that took Keshi's team that far.

That team lacked quality and depth. Our first game against Iran is still one of the most boring game have ever watch. Even an NPFL match is not as boring as that.

When did the FA Cup games take place? How many games did he play for the U-23s if not one? Your words on Nacho always carry half truths... Always. It is a norm.

21 appearances and how many of them were starts? How was his run of games in the first half of the season?

Nacho finished this season strongly. In the final two months of this EPL season, we saw Nacho bag assists and score goals. He grew into his own. The niggling toe issues he mostly endured with pain killers were now all gone. Nacho was no longer limited on the field. What do you know about medicine to tell me a player fighting to have top physical conditioning and fitness was fit in the first half of rhe season? Huh? Listen mister... I normally ignore your quotes but I take exception to this one. I really don't like you quoting me on here because I don't like reading your views laden with half truths.

Sir Komekn.... Nacho deserved to be on that list based on his club form and also his national team form. Simy's club form is beyond ignorance. Musa too... Kayode has not done more than three at all. Unless you want to tell me too that performing a little in Ukraine trumps performance in your beloved EPL. cheesy
