Lol... All this noise is dead on arrival because Rohr's list is already merits-laden. And the final 23 will be the best of the very best of the lot. It is no longer business as usual. wink

Every time it is a world cup year, you see these folks come out to keep saying the same old boring things over and over.... Well newsflash! This is 2018 and that 30-man list was really sweet. Infact the sweetest in recent years. So Disu and others like him can plsss find another tune to play.

Ohhhh that? Ofcos I saw it.... Two people who miss quoting each other just having a little shouting match to say "Hey It's been long I quoted you". Just hoping their "mouths" don't get too close... cheesy

Don't worry... It will be just fine... And did you just say Gold and Safa...?

I like that name combo... Safagold? grin

I don't think it will be ok because the direction of the personal attack is obvious.

Come on... I did. You really think Rohr will make Echiejile first choice in Russia or pick him for that role? It is obvious Idowu takes it. The last two friendlies show it. As for who the backup to Idowu will be... It is between Echiejile and Aina. And knowing Rohr to an extent, I still cannot predict him on this one. But seeing how he and pinnick worked to get Aina for the team and seeing how Aina performed for Hull all season in the championship. Aina will be bleeping too hard for Rohr to ignore.

This is why I say Disu and co should relax and sing another song. Rohr will pick the best hopefully. His 30-man list is a good one so far and I expect his 23 to reflect the best of the best from among the 30 picked.

Rohr will not pick rubbish.

Federal Government Warns Super Eagles: Qualifying For Second Round No Longer Acceptable
The Federal Government has warned the Super Eagles of Nigeria that just qualifying from group D of the 2018 FIFA World Cup is no longer acceptable while insisting the team should aim to win the World Cup.

Special Adviser to the President Muhammadu Buhari , Femi Adesina, also charged other African teams not to have low ambitions, adding that funding will not be an issue for the Super Eagles team.

''Nigeria should do well, do very well at the World Cup. You know our target used to be qualifying for the second round, then at a time the target of Africa was getting to the quarterfinal,'' Femi Adesina said.

''I think we should be more ambitious this time, let's go as far as we can get and if we can win, why not, but let us not have low ambition.

''Funds should not be a problem as long as everything is put in place timeously, those who should make the request should make it in good time. If everything is done when it should be done, there should be no problem.''

Nigeria’s best outing at the mundial was finishing at the round of 16 three times in five appearances.

Coach Rohr has released a 30-man provisional squad for the World Cup, as the Super Eagles prepare to play Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in the group stage when the competition starts in June.

The truth is Echiejile did't make the list on merit. How many games did he play for his second division club and in the Turkish league that make him deserve to be on the list?

What about Eze? Is Eze performance ths season better than Ambrose? Forget.

Rohr is not perfect.

Those who will accept his list will accept but those who will not accept, will not. It is normal and it doesn't make ones opinion better than others. Let us just leave it there and move on.

I am not saying Rohr is perfect... Mbanu! Who is? undecided

I am saying he wont pick rubbish. And do you actually expect him to drop an echiejile from the 30 man list? An Echiejile who featured in crucial games through out the WC qualifiers campaign? Come on man! Think about it naa... It is just not logical at this point to leave him out of the 30.

And why calling Ambrose again? Rohr watched Eze at the CHAN and truth be told Eze was one of our finest at rhe CHAN. He even made it into the CHAN team of the tournament. He made CHAN first XI and secured a move abroad soon after. Eze merits his place even as a backup.

And ofcos naa... There will those who won't accept Rohr's list. Some of them were even calling for Isaac Success grin So yes it is normal... You just cannot please everybody. **shrugs**

I do not think the team was great in CHAN. Yes, they got to the final but they needed a huge chunk of luck and goalkeeper heroics.

On the defensive front, Osas was clearly deficient. He was better offensively but that is not saying much. The team as a whole hardly played well in any game.
I do not think the CHAN team was great either, I'm not stupiid. The fact is that the player you're trying to rubbish was one of the pillars of a team which played 2 continental finals within 3 months.
I think it is uncharitable the way you're having a go at the said right back who scored twice in the qualifiers, scored in Wafu and made 2-3 assists in chan.
Please, tell the whole story.

I don't know if in your haste to justify the exclusion of Kayode, you forgot he didn't play the qualifiers and he was never given the chance to prove himself.

Don't forget that he assisted Iheanacho in the game we were trailing by a goal against Senegal which salvaged a draw against Senegal in his first ever match for the Super Eagles. In that game, he didn't play his preferred striker role rather he played as a SS and he still impressed.

He went ahead to play 3 matches coming in as a substitute in 19th, 20th and 3 minutes of those games.

There was no place in those matches confirmed that he failed based on the situation on things then. Somebody, you are absolutely wrong.

In the match against Cameroon, Agu came on the defend the lead and he did wonderful well.

Against Zambia he came on for injured Onazi at the time the score was 0:0 but we still didn't conceed a goal but went ahead to score.

How did Agu fail the test?? Is it until he dribbles like Messi score goals before he is good enough?

Sometimes people just don't see things the way they are. Just sentiments everywhere.

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick was on a breakfast show of Channels Television on Monday, May 14 where he discussed a wide of topics including, Super Eagles preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and development of grassroots football.

These are 10 important things he said on the TV appearance.

1. No injury worries for the Super Eagles ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup

Pinnick was impressed with the likes of Iheanacho who scored for their clubsides (Holly Allison/TPI/REX/Shutterstock)

Pinnick has played down injury worries for the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

“You can see yesterday (Sunday, May 13), all our players were blazing. (Kelechi) Iheanacho, (Alex) Iwobi and the boy from Plateau United (Junior) Lokosa, Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon they all scored yesterday,” the NFF boss said.

“The injuries are not to be worried about and their spirit is amazing, they are thinking about the World Cup and that gives us so much joy."

2. 2018 FIFA World Cup target for Super Eagles

The NFF boss refused to state an outright target for the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the World Cup and said the federation are just doing all they can to encourage the players.

3. $2.8m for Super Eagles

Pinnick reveals how the NFF and Super Eagles shared their World Cup bonuses (Mark Leech Offside Getty Images)

Pinnick also revealed that from the $8m expected from FIFA, the Super Eagles are to get 30% of it, about $8m for their 2018 World Cup bonuses.

This was agreed after a meeting between the NFF and senior players.

4. The vision of the NFF

During the interview on Channels TV, Pinnick stated that the vision of his NFF is to make football the integral part of the Nigerian economy.

“In 1992, when the Premier League started, they requested $200m from the British government, not to give to the clubs but to develop their infrastructure,” Pinnick said.

“Today the British Government rake in between $2.5b to $3bn pounds on taxes and other direct activities relating to football annually.

“It adds to their GDP and that’s exactly what I wanted to do. Our programs include the QIP, the quick impact programmes which of course means we want to qualify Nigeria for all major tournaments because sporting successes also impact on your cooperate existences.”

5. Football houses all over the country
Pinnick revealed that the NFF ready to commission six football houses (secretariats for state FAs) in the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

The NFF have also commenced the building of more 12 of these houses across Nigeria.

“This is important because the problem we have is for example if you go to your state, you discover a player, you don’t nurture that player to greatness,” Pinnick said.

“There is what is called the FIFA connect program. Whereby every football stakeholders are already registered under the FIFA Connect programme.

“If you are discovered as a six-year-old, you get connected to a FIFA connect program and at that level, the state starts nurturing you.

“You cannot change the age of the player, you cannot change the name of the players because the player is being monitored by FIFA through NFF and through the state FA till he becomes a star."

6. NFF not paying a dime for Super Eagles Team B Vs Atletico Madrid

Pinnick says NFF is not paying for the friendly game between Super Eagles Team B and Atletico Madrid (CAF)

Pinnick revealed that the NFF will not be ‘spending a dime’ for the friendly game between Super Eagles Team B and Atletico Madrid.

7. DR Congo players to be tested to Ebola in Port Harcourt

DR Congo players will be tested for Ebola Virus on arrival in Port Harcourt for the friendly game against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

8. NFF get half of their budget from corporate sponsorship

Pinnick also revealed that the NF get half of their annual budget from corporate sponsorship.

“Our budget in a year is about between N5.5b to N6b and as I speak to you the NFF is about doing about N3.5b from corporate sponsorship,” Pinnick said.

“Within the next one and a half year, our target is to be 100% self-funding.”

9. Pressure from players

While denying reports that Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has been pressuring players to sign with an agent so they can make the World Cup squad, Pinnick revealed that he has been pressured by some agents to make sure their clients are in the list.

“I told them that I am the wrong person to meet. It is the call of the coach,” Pinnick said.

10: Ignoring court case distraction

Pinnick refused to respond to questions about the court cases he is facing and said their only focus is on the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

“We want to focus just one the World Cup because we believe that for the first time, Nigeria can focus on the World Cup,” he said.
