Both auto.

For space, comfort, beautiful speed and well balanced movement, Go for the Accord.
They come in 2.4, 3.0L engines.

Civic is more like the boring 07 Corolla, it comes in 1.8L and most are not full option and micro space too.

But both are good but!

1. Low fuel consumption
2. Reliability No surprises
3. Just normal route service
4. Legs are more reliable than EOD
5. Less repair ( Your Mechanic will be calling you self for any repair)
6. Its good for someone who is not rough (The body)
7. Am currently using it 2007

But if You get better Money buy Camry from 2009 Up or Lexus ES 350 from 2009 up. My next car come August Ishi Allah.

Accord comes 2.4 L (for d inline-4 models) or 3.0 L (for V6)

2. Civic is smaller and a bit more compact in space dan d Accord. U can as well compare Civic to a Corrolla, while Accord to a Camry with respect to dia sizes.

3. Both cars are durable and from the same manufacturer, Honda. However, there is a prevalent user complain about Accord's front legs breaking apart if the signs are ignored. Civic has a different suspension and leg system which does not have this concern. Civic is totally immune to this issue and most people don't know this (they think it's a general Honda problem).

4. 07 Civic and 04 Accord have a comparable Capital cost, but Operating cost is cheaper on d Civic.
Besides, a 2007 technology is more recent dan 2004.

My Verdict: Make ur decision based on ur personal requirements and what fits ur style.

Choose Civic if U don't have a problem wit a smaller-sized sedan, a decent (140hp by performace, similar to Corrolla, 406 etc) and an economic vehicle (ave. 29mpg same wit Corrolla)

But if U need a better performance (about 160-240 horsepowers), a larger sized-sedan, but not comparably so economic (ave. 22-24mpg), then go for Accord.

My personal inclination however is towards Civic. Unless I can afford Accord later than 2018 models.

Engine - Super efficient. I use ₦1000 petrol from Chevron to Allen and back. 1.8L but perfect for a car of it's size

Comfort - You wouldn't naturally expect much from a car of that size but it works. There are days I do Lekki to Ikeja and back two times in one day. Never feels tiring especially when you have the AC running.

I have to deal with serious traffic almost daily and not for once has the car left me on the road.

The legs too I believe are a lot better than what you have on the EOD. Never ever pulled out even while making unpleasant sounds (You shouldn't tolerate those sounds anyways)

Did Uyo - Lagos with a full tank of gas. Bought @ Uyo and topped (refilled) @ Asaba. It was @ ½ tank when I topped. It got me home (Lagos) with 4 bars left. The ride was smooth. Did 165km/h comfortably on the freeway. AC all through.

Do your servicing at the right time and pay attention to strange noises and you'll have a great car.

The best option for this Nigerian economy and road is Toyota Corolla,my advice is that you save a little bit more and get corolla 03-06 you will thank me later,that car is just too durable and fuel efficient.
My brother if you buy Honda now in 8months you would consider buying another car. A word is enough for the wise.

D body and engine looks sharp and I can see dat it's straight Toks, even tho it has counted quite alot of numbers, it wud be excellent for city use.

This is partly why the corolla and toyota’s in general remain expensive in Nigeria

but some people would also advice against the V6 and say the in-line 4 or commonly as V4 is more better

the bigger the engine,the bigger the maintenance and running cost.

Nice input so far. Guess i can make up my mind based on these for the Civic. I have been drawn between the Civic 08 and Accord 06 (it is the least problematic of the Accord series from my research) all the while, but can see why the Civic, my first option is what I should go for.
