Thanks a lot bro, before your response I was able to do it through http://ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-visaapply.asp which took me to the main visa application page: https://ceac.state.gov/GenNIV/Default.aspx So I was able to complete the online application successfully.

However, Ive been trying to book an appointment but I cant create an account as a new user, each time I try I get the below message:

Your request cannot be processed at this time. The site administrator has been alerted.
User could not be created. Please ensure First Name and Last Name are entered as they are in your passport.

What could be the problem?
Use another email address
I even tried to add my First Name and Middle Name in he first name field but it didnt work, I also entered just my first name but that one no work as well. Is anyone here facing same challenge?

Pls help a brother out.
Thank you

One thing observed during my interview yesterday was the fact that quite a number had no business applying for the visa, a particular lady was bragging to the VO how she earns about 500k from her business on a good month when all she put on from head to toe was not even up to 10k ! the VO rejected her and she started making a scene and was walked out of the place.

So if she makes 500k a month she should spend all on clothing for the US embassy?
You guys should stop attaching so much importance to the value of ones appearance. As long as one looks neat and smart that's what matters not how much the clothes are worth.

My advice is this, if you have gone through this thread carefully and you still have doubt or fear within you about if you are eligible or not then it's better not to apply save your visa fee those guys spend less than two mins with you before taking their decision. Once you have deficiency in travel history, marital or job status etc then it's highly likely they will deny you, also I have reason to believe that they have something on the screen that seems to profile you regarding your body language, conduct etc.

I don't agree with you 100% on this...

Even if you have all ties, that little fear/doubt crops up once in a while until you finally pass the interview and secure the visa... same can be said of you from your transcript

Applicants should just be prepared to the best of their ability, have a genuine reason for travelling and expect any eventuality...

Good day all. So I sent an invitation to a family friend in Nigeria but she got denied twice on the basis of not having close ties . Is it because she is going to the interview herself without her husband or what? Cos on both occasions the Vo asked if she got kids with her husband that they have been married For three years but she said No. the issue is her husband is a busy jerk that don’t even have a passport the lady has been to Dubai prior to her first refusal before she reapplied . Any tip on what she can do. Does it make sense for her to answer yes the next they ask if she got kids?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by blackkeyc: 10:29pm On May 16, 2018
If she has no kids there is nothing anyone can do about that. She can focus more on work and travel ties. Dont encourage her to lie because the comeuppance may be severe

Good day all

I am currently applying for a B1/B2 visa. My intended travel date is August 13 and the next available apointment date on their website is around July 30.

The issue now is I currently have 9 months left on my passport (exp Feb 2019) and so will be left with just 7 months by the time I will be interviewed.

I intended renewing my passport but was told I could only do so within 6 months to the date of expiry. I then checked the Nigerian Immigration website and found I could apply for renewal even if passport validity is more than 6 months.

1. Will the time left (7 months by the time of the interview) on the passport reduce my chances or should I get another passport?

2. If I decide to renew, can I schedule an appointment with the current passport no. and go for the interview with both current and new passports?

3. Can I renew even though I still have more than 6 months? (Their website says I can but we know our people)

I am yet to submit the DS160 form but I've paid the visa fee using my current ppt no. I don't want to make any mistakes as I have been refused before (2014; 214(b)).

I'd really appreciate everyones advice and suggestions.

Thanks in advance smiley

Ps let her d'nt say she has kids bc her privious records is with them. They will always run a check on it. She need to be consistent. If she say she has kids now, the VO will supect her and this will arise to questions on how old the kid is and she then say the kid is some months or few years, the VO will then ask why is she not traveling with her child? It does not make sense for a mother to leave her baby at home and travel for vacation alone especially when the kid (s) are still little. She can travel alone as a mother when the kid(s) are good enof to take care of them self. It is not a crime not to have kids yet. USA embassy are not God. My married friend has no kid and she was given visa.

May I ask what y sister does for a living?
If she is working or doing business , how long av she been doing it ?
How much does she earn monthly?
If she is into business how many staffs assisting her?
Then did she give time to apply after the first refusal or she quickly reapplied?
These are the questions she need to ask her self and then focus on her work or business as her strong tie.

Ps u stated (exp Feb 2018.,) But we are in May. When will the passport expire?

1.The 7months will not reduce your chances at all. The passport must be 6months validity, but everything depends on y time. For me I am looking at the schedule appointment time which is 30th July and the appointment time do move fast every day. I will advice u if u are not too in a hurry to travel why not quickly renew the passport, it does not waste time especially if u av a reliable immigration officer that can do it for u that same day or next. Then u use y new passport number and quickly secure a date in july. Is just that u might not get that 30th July but will still get a date within that July. Just take y time d'nt be in a hurry, just renew it, if it is possible. It also safe u the stress of carrying two passports to travel, especially when the visa is in the old passport that will soon expire few months. On the other hand if y immigration officer says the passport will take time to renew, then u use the current passport. It all depends on y time. Making payment with current passport does not mean since it is yr passport. The most important thing is the schedule appointment aving the same passport number with DS-160.

2. Note that the passport number u stated in y schedule appointment must be the same u will use for your Ds -160. It is the passport number u gave details of in y application that u must take to the embassy ps. So either u renew it and put the correct passport number or u use y current passport then when u get the visa u renew y passport. It all depends on the passport u will like the visa stamp to be. But will still advice u to take y time and renew y passport if what u are going to the USA to do is not urgent.

3. If u can renew it better for u. Just go 2 immigration office and verify but I know u can renew it., dending on y location . Here in Lagos with y immigration officer u can renew it that same day.
All the best and work on y strong tie this 2nd time.

He/ she might be denial bc of the document the VO put in the passport. The documents might not be reliable that might be the reason she was denial. My advice go and renew y passport, d'nt be in a hurry. Take your time ps.
Lesson learned, it is not given white paper for approval is the main thing, the main thing is aving the visa stamp on y passport after processing. Ps friends always share y transcript as u see the visa stamp. Lol! Thanks for sharing

good point, but then why take chances of future denials having being refused the first time? the more times you are refused the more your chances to get the visa decline. By going through this thread i had my doubts as i had dubai as my only travel history for the last 5 years, i had already planned for UK instead as they look at documents to determine your approval or not, but i had already submitted my DS 160 form a month before I stumbled on this thread. I just had to go so as not to waste my 64k.

by the time you come back next time to reapply they already have your previous transcript and will surely refer to it , well no harm in trying but just make sure that everything is tidy on your own end before applying.
