lol yet ''the poor man's kanu'' has scored more goals in the seria a than the original Kanu you are right very funny grin cheesy

I don't understand why those who condemned the selection of Bartholomew Ogbeche to the 2002 World cup by Onigbinde because they claimed he began to score goals for PSG just prior to the world Cup and have suddenly applauded the inclusion of Simy Nwankwo whose situation is exactly like Ogbeche.

I don't have problem with Simy's invitation but I want to fish out these two faced and double standard fellows

Now, I will ask, why the sudden change of mouth when it seems to favour them?

I have come to realise that this sudden change of stance has to do with the area the coach and the players comes from.

It's now clear to me that these fellows are only interested in the area a particular coach or players comes from.

They are not logical in reasoning but sentimental in judgement.

It's only God that can raise a man and your believe that you are the best people in Nigeria or the world is delusional.

I have come to know this even though I may be of house of kings.

but why have they come up with such an average list of players.

That team lacks a creative midfielder. I don't know where they expect the Harry Kanes and Vardys of this world to get their service from? Oh have forgotten. They'll resort to huff and puff football. they'll be hoofing every ball to their attackers.

Baba No compare England with our team. If I assemble Super Eagles' team B(not home base o) you go fear.

Can you please give me just 3 names of our players that can get into their list else what do call our team?

So, you mean Dele Alli and Lin are lesser than Iwobi and Onazi, ba?

Just give me 3 names.

please save simmy that empty comparism... had it been ogbechi never fumbled at the world cup that year...I am so sure chief festus would earn so much praise...
so please give rohr some break...simmy has not made final 23 man list yet...
let him make the final team list first and fumble..before you sing your comparism.
you can't expect any reasonable coach to ignore such a player who could score such a magnificent goal against renowned juventus.... and went on score 5 in sequence in his next matches... had it been kayode was in his shoes he would have been picked...
rohr has no personal problem with kayode...he is not a Nigerian neither a Yoruba or ibo... so stop trying to score sentiment

Lokosa “Overjoyed” By Super Eagles Call-Up, In Bulgaria For ‘Medicals’
May 16, 2018 4:27 pm

Nigeria Professional Football League hotshot Junior Lokosa is overwhelmed by his invitation to the Super Eagles for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, chairman of Kani Pillars FC, Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Babangida, has revealed.

Babangida told Completesportsnigeria.com that Lokosa who arrived in Sofia, the Bulgarian capital city on Tuesday, was overjoyed when the news of his call-up to national team reached him through his agent

“Lokosa is overjoyed at his invitation and he has expressed gratitude to the coach for including him in the 30-man provisional list for the World Cup. He also promised to try his best to convince the coach that he is good for the World Cup,” Babangida stated
.
The Kano Pillars boss further disclosed that Lokosa, who has scored 18 goals in the NPFL this season, will undergo medicals with his unnamed new outfit and return to the country by May 20, adding that the striker is not on trial as being reported in the media.

“He (Lokosa) is not on trial but has only gone to do his medicals and if he succeeds, the club will come down to Kano to sign the necessary papers for his transfer. We’ll miss him if he finally goes; he has been fantastic for Pillars this season,” Babangida told CSN.

On the choice of Bulgaria for Lokosa, the former Kano director of sports said: “We had several offers for him from USM Algiers, Al Hilal of Sudan, a Libyan club, a Tunisian side a team from Serbia but the Bulgarian offer was better and he chose that.”

Two same scenerio but one was condemned and the other priased to high heavens by these two faced and double standard fellows.

These condemnations was confirmed by one of these fellows immediately after Onigbinde released the list and not after the poor performance of Ogbeche which only exist in your imagination. Infact, he made us to understand that he condemned Ogbeche's inclusion on live T.V program. Chai! grin

But he's already praising Simy's inclusion by saying the coach decision is final, period. grin

As you can see same scenerio and I don't need to wish my country badluck by wishing Simy bad game in the world cup before I start to condemn his inclusion on the list.

That your advice is very evil and I reject it in Jesus name.

Now, Are you among these two faced double standard fellow?

Nwankwo: I’m Happy With The Opportunity To Vie For Spot In Super Eagles’ W/Cup Squad
May 16, 2018 11:20 am

Crotone of Italy forward, Simeon Nwankwo says he will prove he is worthy of a place in the Super Eagles following his surprise inclusion in the 30-man provisional list for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.

Nwankwo, 26, and Kano Pillars striker, Junior Lokossa are the notable first-time call-ups in the list released by Nigeria head coach, Gernot Rohr on Monday who overlooked the likes of Brown Ideye, Junior Ajayi and Sadiq Umar.

The former Gil Vicente of Portugal player has earned rave reviews recently following his impressive performances for Crotone in the Italian Serie A.

He has scored seven goals in 22 league appearances for the club this season an improvement from the three he netted in 21 league games last term.

The striker however has a tough task in his hands as regards making the final 23 for the mundial with forwards, Odion Ighalo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa all favoured to be on the plane to Russia.

“The last few days have been a good one for me, my club and family. I have received a lot of congratulatory messages on the invitation and I’m happy with the way things have turned out for me so far,” Nwankwo stated in an interview with Lagos based radio station, Brila Fm monitored by CSN.

“Playing at the World Cup is the dream of every player . This is an opportunity for me to showcase my talent and prove myself to the coaches.

“Already, we have some friendly matches lined up before the World Cup which is a big opportunity for every player to fight for a place in the team, especially those of us coming into the team for the first time
“I will give my best and see what happens at the end of the day.”

The Super Eagles are expected to begin preparation for Russia 2018 on May 22 in Uyo where they will train for a couple of days before proceeding to Port Harcourt for a friendly match against Democratic Republic of Congo on May 28.

The Three-time African champions will play in Group D in Russia along with Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.

All Rohr's Worries Are Over: Leicester Ace Ndidi Starts Swimming, Gym Work

Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi is pushing himself to be fit even ahead of schedule after he was named in Nigeria's 30-man provisional roster for the World Cup.
The hamstring injury the defensive midfielder suffered against Crystal Palace on April 28 is expected to keep him out of action for six weeks but he has stepped up his recovery programme in the swimming pool and the gym.

The Nigerian Federation and coaching staff are amazed at the way the energetic midfielder is recuperating very fast, that is better than they earlier thought.

''Ndidi is doing very, very well. He is recovering very well, all the worries are over now,'' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com .

''It is confirmed that he will go to the World Cup. He has not started training on the pitch but he's doing treadmill workouts and swimming exercises.''

Gernot Rohr has identified Ndidi as one of the key players in the Super Eagles squad since he was appointed coach, and handed him starts in all the Super Eagles 2018 World Cup qualifiers apart from the game against Algeria in Uyo.

Adepoju: Expect Very Strong Atletico Madrid Team Against Nigeria

May 16, 2018 10:15 am

Former Super Eagles star Mutiu Adepoju is the Spanish La Liga Ambassador in Nigeria. In this interview with Completeportnigeria.com’s KAYODE OGUNDARE, the ex-Real Sociedad of Spain midfielder talks about the forthcoming GOTV MAX Cup international friendly between the Super Eagles and La Liga giants Atletico Madrid on May 22 in Uyo as well as the partnership agreement between Nigeria’s League Management Company (LMC) and their Spanish counterparts…

How did the deal for Nigeria to play Atletico Madrid come to be?

Got something to say? The let your voice be heard! Back Pass *Sport related topics only*
It is the result of a partnership agreement signed between the League Management Company and La Liga few years ago. By bringing a powerhouse like Atletico Madrid, La Liga has demonstrated the pride of place that Nigerian football occupies in its scheme of activities. We are doing everything for the Nigerian fans and to get everybody familiar with the best league in the world. This friendly match is just one of many more to come.

How long is this deal between the LMC and La Liga supposed to last for?

It was an initial five-year deal but La Liga is not planning to leave Nigeria in a hurry. The relationship is bearing fruits already and we planned to stay for a long time. We have an office here, employ Nigerians and discharge our duties as good corporate citizens. So I think it is a long-term project and both parties are satisfied.

In what other ways will Nigeria football benefit from this partnership?

The La Liga deal is a total package which includes providing visibility for Nigerian football and helping in youth development and access to global best practices in sports administration. It also includes capacity building for administrators so that the league can grow and catch up with the rest of the world in the shortest possible time. Kudos to Multichoice and GOTV for also partnering us to make this Atletico game possible.

Is La Liga also benefitting in this partnership or is it a one-sided affair?

No, definitely not. We are not looking at this in terms of naira and kobo but definitely there are benefits to be derived from both sides. La Liga will also benefit commercially and by providing access for Nigerian players to play in the Spanish La Liga which in turn will help to strengthen the league. So it is a win-win for everybody.

Talking about players, when can we expect to see the first direct transfer from the Nigerian League to La Liga?

It’s a gradual process which has begun already. We are strengthening systems and processes so that the quality of players produced from the Nigerian league can be better. La Liga is gradually having a better knowledge of Nigerian football too. Don’t forget that in 2016 an NPFL Selected side went to Spain and played quality friendlies including against this same Atletico and they narrowly lost to a late goal. This shows that the gap is closing and very soon it will not only be possible, it will also be easy for players to directly transfer from the NPFL to La Liga. Already we saw some Nigerian players move to La Liga from other European teams last season so it should not be far off to have some going from home too.

Can we expect to see a full strength Atletico Madrid side or is it the reserve team that will play against Nigeria?

Of course it will be the first team of Atletico that will come. Like you know they are playing the Europa League final against Marseille on Wednesday and they will get ready for the trip to Nigeria immediately after. Apart from anybody who may be injured or those who are World Cup bound with their countries, you can expect to see the full team with the technical staff led by Diego Simeone. I know FIFA sets aside a number of days for players to rest between end of the season and when they start World Cup preparations so some players may fall in that category and not be included but Nigerians can be sure that the team will be full strength.

Super Eagles Media Officer Toyin Ibitoye has posited that the Super Eagles defenders played the most important role in Nigeria's qualification for the 2018 World Cup.

William Troost-Ekong, Leon Balogun, Elderson Echiejile and Abdullahi Shehu were the preferred back four during the third round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers and Ibitoye has revealed that Rohr's decision to name them in the provisional roster as well as Chidozie Awaziem, Ola Aina and Brian Idowu was a no-brainer.

''These guys are responsible for where we are right now. We failed to qualify for the Nations Cup in 2015 and 2017, confidence was low,'' Ibitoye told Channels Television.

''Gernot Rohr came on board and he said the first step is to organize our defense. If we don't concede goals, we don't lose games.
''He started working with young defenders, these guys are responsible for getting us to the World Cup from that tough group with a game to spare, there is no reason to discard them now, the coach believes in them and they are getting better and better.''

Ibitoye acknowledged that Rohr faces a selection headache before naming his final 23-man squad list as the defenders have shown their versatility especially the fullbacks.

''Ekong has improved tremendously, lately there was a change of coach but he played the last game.
''Balogun is back training, Awaziem has been toughened up by the French League and plays in a number of positions, he plays left side, right side of central defense.
''Aina, Brian and Tyronne can play on the left and right, the team is spoilt for choice and it's a very good mix of youth and they can play at a high level for a very long time,'' he added.

If the forfeited match against Algeria is not included, the Super Eagles defensive unit conceded only three goals in five matches in the final round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
