Lagos is totally horrible in the real sense of the word. As for Abuja, for me it’s too dull and atimes. I just wonder what do people actually do in this city. All my friends are either into restaurant catering. There is just no job other than government. It’s really worrisome

Sorry we dont use buses in Abuja. Only taxis. Sienna maybe accepted only on inter states like Nassarawa and Suleja. So no need for bus stations full of criminals and agberos. Its a pity you make boast with bus stations. Smh

Abuja is an 'outdoorsy' type of place. Parks are everywhere where people, rich and poor can relax, relate and recharge. Parks are also free to all. Let alone Jabi Lake fitness every Saturday where people come and do keep fit, afrobeats aerobics (with full on DJ's), yoga, Pilates, outdoor table tennis, rollerblading, biking and jogging.

It's one of the things that made me fall in love with Abuja. It is accessible to all.

When next you are opportuned to come to lagos, try check out Eko atlantic, VI, Banana Island, Lekki(pls Take a GPS locator with you, because you might get lost to the fantasy of the views) Ikeja, Alausa, Gbagada, to mention a few . As an established individual, Abuja is better for peace of mind.

Lagosians tend to sound angry, they are always shouting and screaming at each other. Same does not apply to Abuja. People are usually more civil here.


Lagos social life is more vibrant than Abuja.


To be sincere though, neither of these cities are appealing to me. I would rather just pack my load and live in a peaceful city like Enugu. No hassles, cheaper living standard.

The truth is Abuja is the better option and hence the reason it was made FCT. Most Lagosians are ignorant: they are born in Lagos, raised in Lagos and will die in Lagos, so everything in their lives revolve around Lagos.

I've stayed in Lagos, PHC and Abuja and truly prefer PHC to LAG because the traffic can give someone heart attack. Just the thought of passing through Lagos during a journey gives me HBP.
Overall I prefer ABJ though -- very cool, calm and organized city.

Abuja was developed from scratch as the federal capital territory of Nigeria and the reason is because, it is the center of the country. Before the implementation of the Abuja master plan, the area was just like any other piece of land.

So, I find it ludicrous some people on this forum are bashing the lady because from her name it appears she's from the east. Back to the topic, I grew up in Lasgidi. And I love gidi like there's no tomorrow. Men, where else in 9ja would one find original agoin beans and agege bread? Nowhere ooo! I love the madness in Lagos. I love the smell. I love the ruggedness of lasgidi. Lagos moulded me into the man of survival that I am today. However, if I were now to choose between Lagos and Abuja, I'd go for Abuja because Abj is much saner and organised than Lasgidi. In terms of business opportunities, I'd stick to Lagos for the obvious reason that gidi is the commercial hub of Nigeria. Both cities are beautiful. And both are Nigeria's priced jewels!

Of course this is no brainer at all. I have stayed in both Lagos and Abuja, but I tell you that I can never live in Lagos! I had to sublet my rented apartment at Palmgroove before it expired and ran back to the East. Since then, I have no regret whatsoever. I still visit Lagos anyway for business or to visit my sister but I don't stay more than a couple of days. I still wonder how people cope with life in Lagos, the quality of life there is abysmally poor. I prefer Abuja, Owerri or Enugu than Lagos.

Over 3 years in Lagos and I still wonder what i'm still doing here. Maybe I am enslaved by my Job and the fear of not earning much in other parts of the country. Lagosians are always angry, the stress is just too much.

I tendered my resignation the first day I went to Lagos, for a lucrative job, even though my house was at Dolphin Estate, and the office on Lekki Expressway.... You can never be in Lagos and remain sane.

Can't forget the day I saw people backing people for money, to help them cross a flooded area, after it rained heavily. The craziness is just out of this world.

I will always choose Abuja over Lagos.
