Hello, I was introduced to NL by a friend. I'm a masters student in a school in the US. I just started last fall. I intend to do my Ph.D. in US/Canada. Please, suggest to me which school(s) I can apply. Below is my profile; UG GPA: 3.73/4.00 MS GPA: 3.67/4.00 ( I'll be graduating in May2019). PS: preparing to write GRE soon. |

PhDAdmission19:Really? One would have thought being in the system would have given you more insight. However, how do you want strangers to suggest school without intended course of study?. You didn't write GRE before you started your masters? Additionally since yout plan is to do Phd after masters, I think you need to do better with your Msc gpa, Aim for >3.8. No correlation between your UG gpa and Msc gpa right now 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Demonicide: Relax, u can definitely meet up for fall. I will be using my Cleveland state University admission for my embassy interview soon though am going for masters. My masters admission took about 8 weeks, I paid application fee January 9th and got the admission March 1st. Here's what you have to do to speed up your process. 1. You obviously can't do anything about the wait period. The school said admission takes like 4-6 weeks from when your application was completed. Have you gotten a mail from them stating that your application have been completed. If no, you need to mail them and find out what is pending in your application 2. Get your financial documents ready. Immediately you are given admission you will be required to scan and upload your financial documents in order for them to prepare your i20. If you have them handy, u will be doing yourself a favour. Cleveland state university took 4 working days to prepare my i20. 3. Cleveland state university uses eshipglobal to ship i20. You will be charged $90.44, bank charges not included and this can only be paid outside Nigeria by wire transfer or PayPal. I will advise you start talking with Walspring and other gurus in the US so that they will help you make this payment as quickly as your i20 is ready. 4. Cleveland state university will send you some of the important details on your i20 to your mail. You can use this details to pay embassy fee, first DS160 form, pay Sevis fee and book appointment at the embassy while you wait to receive your i20. eshipglobal uses UPS, DHL and FedEx. There is little or no risk of your i20 getting lost except you deliberately give them wrong phone number and delivery details. You will also be given tracking number that you can use to track it. You will receive your i20 within 5 working days from when eshipglobal picks it up from the school 5. Begin now to prepare for embassy interview as you might need to scale it at first trial. I hope this helps you calm down a little. 4 Likes |

Please help...... I want to reapply and the appointment page is asking me to choose if I have either been interview between 6 month or not. If I choose I have been interviewed,it won't bring out any date for,it will say no date available but if I choose regular, it will bring out date. I kept on refreshing d page and now its saying my maximum limits for d day is over till tomorrow. And if I pick regular, it was written there that I will be denied for misrepresentation. My fear is I have only 3days before my receipt number is blocked by d embassy and one day is gone already, please when can I likely do the appointment that I will be able to get a date. Please gurus help |

SPERMANC: As an international student, there's a minimum amount of credit hours you must take to show you're 100% enrolled for the semester (full-time) and maintain your F1 status. I don't remember what the amount is, but I'm sure you can't do just 3 hours Look it up. You'll definitely find that information. |

sheke01:You just saved a soul...Yes, I got a mail from them on the 12th of this month thanking me for the completion of my application.(will the 4-6weeks start from that date?) My brother is in USA, he will help me out with the payment via credit card. I have started preparing for the interview a long time ago. Thanks so much for the attention, you really calmed my nerve. |

Humble11: I read your transcript. Now, I'll attempt an analysis like you requested. 1. Stay on track. Not for this particular question but for all questions. Simple question: which school are you going to? Give a simple answer. 2. I read the "VO countenance changed..." part and wondered what the relevance was. Did the VO's demeanor knock you off balance, put you under pressure, trigger a change in your own demeanor that you started stuttering/shivering/sending wrong vibes to them? If so, that may be where you started encountering problems and things went downhill. 3. Your reasons for choosing IGU. No, Sir. I would have cut you off too. Time is important and they don't wanna listen to things like that. You'll need to do better. 4. "I was confused at first"... you should have asked for clarification. I have no clue what you were trying to say with that answer. What relationship do the three schools have? Who knows if all of them are private schools or if they're all in republican states or "they all have an A rating for low crime on campus" lol. Could be anything. Oh! Maybe "they all offer graduate programs in IT field" idk. 5. The drilled doctor before you... irrelevant. In summary, you shouldn't waste your money going for another interview until you've prepared better. You still need work... personally, I'm interested in knowing why you chose IGU. Just curious, let's start from there. 1 Like |

theamerican:All this story wont cut it. He or she went to the embassy with i20 from Iglobal a one building school, if you have been here for a long time you would have known the problem is the school and not how he or she answered. There are people on this thread who have been denied visa twice and thrice because of that school. Just do a quick search of Iglobal on Nairaland and to see for yourself. A VO even told one person he needs to start his application again, that is a clue for the wise. I cant phantom how people will leave Nigeria for schools like igblobal or VIU if not for ONLY immigration intent. We all left Nigeria because we wanted good life for us and our kids but at least gain two things with one stone. Good/Quality education and a good life. 13 Likes 1 Share |

femi312: Ok. You're saying IGU has no international student(s)? You're saying for sure that no one can get a visa to come to the U.S. to study at IGU? If both answers are yes and you have proof, I'll accept your statements and apologize for my ignorance. This thread topic says "enquiries for USA student visa". I have absolutely no interest in what anyone has as a plan for their life after school or after they get their visa unless they ask for my opinion. I focus on the primary issue and that is: "How can this member get a visa, legally, based on the information provided?". It's not my job to worry about why someone would wanna spend $100k to go study adult education in Singapore. It is not my business. Again, when I'm asked what can I do to get a visa, I consider what information the person provides and give my opinion. That's all. They have the freedom to completely ignore my opinion/advice and call me clueless. Whether it's to Stanford to study STEM or to IGU/VIU to study fishery, immigration intent is immigration intent. 8 Likes |

theamerican:I am not saying there are no Nigerian students in Iglobal since nobody can say for a fact. However, using a pool of sample on Nairaland, getting a visa to the said school is 1 out of 10. Secondly, because the thread says 'enquiries about visa', does that mean the discussion here has been centered on just visa? NO! People come here to inquire about H1b, opt, student life, cheap phone plans, health insurance etc. I don't think it is fair to see someone entering fire and because they never asked for your opinion or even know they are entering fire, you keep mute. Not everytime you have to be optimistic or tell them what they want to hear because you seek validation or something. Sometimes be realistic because reality makes people make better plans. Enjoy your day. 12 Likes 2 Shares |
Ok. You're saying IGU has no international student(s)? You're saying for sure that no one can get a visa to come to the U.S. to study at IGU? If both answers are yes and you have proof, I'll accept your statements and apologize for my ignorance. this your comment is really somehow. Are you saying that people should apply to one building schools or what? or schools that would loose accreditation anytime (because that was your argument some days), the thread is to guide and help each other , and also help people who are getting things wrong, people who have gone to that school have repeatedly come back with a refusal (make your research and don't ask anyone for proof) so are you advising him to go again? N.B when you become a vo you can give visas to students who want to go to one building schools and the likes. for now don't advise people only on the basis of the interview. the schools and other aspects matter. Finally, @the guy in question, please do the needful! All this talk of you can get the visa with any school cant cut it. #lethethathasearslisten 1 Like |

Demonicide:You are getting yourself worked up unnecessarily. That it can take up to 4-6 weeks from the day they received your materials online does not mean it can take that long. It differs from one person's application to the other. Mine took only but 2weeks and couple of days to offer me the admission into their MBA program. Yours may take up to 4-6 weeks or less perhaps. Keep checking ur campusnet login like I advice before, and again u can contact the admission office through email or a phone call to ascertain the status of ur application or even ask them to expedite ur application so that u can meet up with visa interview and other immigration issues. Lastly, take a chill pill and do not develop cardiac arrest because of the admission decision 1 Like |

It's funny how people read what you write, misinterpret things and draw absurd conclusions. When did I tell anyone to start applying to unranked school or one building schools or say this thread should only discuss visas and nothing else? If you can't comprehend what I write, ask me to explain. Don't come and say nonsense to me afterwards. You can't say something is impossible then I call you out and you retract with "well, it's only 1 out of 10" or whatever, that's nonsense. I answer questions asked and stay on track. If you ask me about visa, I'll talk about visa. If you ask me about weather, I'll talk about it. You won't ask me "Do you think my toefl score of 89 is high enough to study Geography at Baylor University?" and I'll reply with "which family member of yours is considering wasting money on you to study at Baylor?". I try my best to stay on topic. At the end of the day, it's just nairaland lol. Not that serious. Seek validation? Lmao. Nairaland that I'll still drift away from and nobody'll remember I was even here. 6 Likes |
