I've watched him quite a bit because he was highly rated. I was even interested in us signing him but when an English player is comfortable on the ball the English tend to wildly overrate them. And thats what I noticed with Maguire. He's strong and confident on the ball but his reading of the game is very poor. Positionally average. I can't imagine how he's lightyears better than smalling because he's better on the ball than smalling. That to me is laughable. I don't want this to turn into me praising or rating smalling because I don't and he's had a poor season for me. So I have no problem with him not making the squad but no one of other center backs are any good.
