Kikuyu, Yeah looking at number of registered vehicles, from what I can cleaned Nigeria had around 11M registered cars in 2016 (out of which 5m were registered in 3 yrs -2013-2015!!!) - nIGERIA nollyWOOD against Kenya's 2.8m. That should but Kenya and Nigeria equally around 60-70 cars for 1,000 people. Kenya rise in registered motor vehicles - correlates with GDP - Nigeria cooked gdp is another topic. https://www.ceicdata.com/datapage/charts/o_kenya_road-transport-no-of-motor-vehicles-registered?type=area&period=max&width=1180&height=500&lang=en 3 Likes |

GDP per capita versus 'real wages' on the ground might say something. An economist might elaborate this better! Taxes and other govt policies must also have an effect! I heard it's very expensive to own a car in Singapore due to policies put in place that seek to encourage usage of public transport! But wages of the man on the ground will say a lot. Well paid citizens would want to acquire luxuries such as cars in their lives. The more of these people the more of cars! ! theenchanter: 1 Like |

NairobiWalker: Not only did you fail to make your point without having to add insults, you also lied.. No.1 Kenya GDP according to the world bank is $70bn and not $88b as u claim.. Nairobi indeed contributes to more than half of ur GDP cus is just one of d few working cities u got.. Lagos on the other hand contributes to less than 20% of Nigeria's GDP and still has a bigger economy than Kenya 2) Truly Lagos really benefit from the oil wealth despite not being an oil producing state but it's d same as Kenya.. Kenya doesn't produce oil,but u refine it,don't u? u buy crude oil and refine it.. Lagos doesn't do that.. the benefit Lagos derives from oil comes from the tax being paid by many multinational oil companies with their headquarters in Lagos plus d seaport which is d major point of oil export.. the federal allocation Lagos gets from oil isn't up to it's IGR,and it can survive very well without the oil.. Lagos economy is strongly private sector driven and yea,its bigger than your Kenya's.. And lastly, you Kenyans are over hyping this oil thing.. the oil sector contributes to less than 20& of our GDP.. its d federal revenue not d GDP that's dependent on oil... 3 Likes |

Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Nobody: 11:38am On May 19, 2018 |
Danielnino00:It is not overhype. 98% of your exports is crude oil. When oil prices plunged your economy went into a recession that you have never left and it seems will never leave so long as oil prices are below $80 a barrel. Oil practically funds your budget. So it may form 20% of your GDP but the other 80% depends on that 20% to run. Kenya and South Africa are credited to be some of the few nations which fund more than 90% of their budgets from TAXES. Nigeria is nowhere there. 1 Like |

Outside SA,no African country beats Kenya in terms of their retail market development. What does that say about Kenyans. Are we obsessed with shopping than many African countries? Are our middle class paid better? Nigeria being the giant of Africa with the biggest GDP on the continent, does it pay better salaries than SA,Egypt,Ghana or Kenya? How strong is the middle class in Kenya compared to the one Nigeria or other African countries? What are the poverty levels in Kenya and Nigeria? Are these numbers increasing or decreasing? What are the literacy levels? The life expectancy? How important is Kenya and Nigeria to the UN ? Are you really the Giant of Africa? 2 Likes |

GERALD710:no, oil does not constitute 98% of our export.... our agricultural export stood at 5% last year, how can oil now be 98%? Our federal budget is funded by oil revenue at 2.8t naira and non-oil revenue at 6.3t naira. 1 Like |

Danielnino00: 1. Kenya's GDP was $70 billion in 2016. We are in 2018 buddy. Move with time. 2. If Lagos contributes 20% of Nigeria's GDP, then its GDP is not $136 billion as y'all have been claiming here all through but a mere $51 billion - making it just slightly bigger than Nairobi's yet with 4 times Nairobi's population. This then means all the noise you guys have been making about Lagos' GDP being bigger than Kenya is bull.shit. The bad thing about lying is the liar forgets what and how he lied and ends up contradicting himself. 3. If you can't understand the simple fact that Lagos has benefitted enormously from oil then I have nothing more to tell you. 4. Saying Lagos' GDP is 20% of Nigeria's GDP and Lagos' GDP is bigger than Kenya's in the same post confirms 3 things about you. i) You have poor Mathematical knowledge ii) You're a liar. iii) You're stupid. 5. Saying it's the federal revenue that's dependent on oil and not the GDP confirms five things about you. i) YOU'RE STUPID. ii) YOU'RE STUPID. iii) YOU'RE STUPID. iv) YOU'RE STUPID. v) YOU'RE STUPID. 3 Likes 1 Share |

https://www.softpower.ug/parliament-against-plans-to-relocate-un-base-from-entebbe-to-nairobi/ So there were plans to relocate the UN base from Entebbe,Uganda to Nairobi.I just learnt that the UN has now cooled a bit after a protest letter from Museveni and condemnation of the UN by the Ugandan parliament. This was yet another UN steal for Kenya. Ugandans and other member countries complaining of unfair distribution of UN entities should be asking themselves,Why Kenya? Is there a Kenyan cartel in the UN that made the proposal? Or ,is Kenya more appealing to UN and it's staff ? |

TayserMahiri:And yet we have entire communties made up of different ethnicities. Last I checked where I come from Swahilis are the majority and they are a mix of Arab and African. Kikuyus are a mix of everything. Some have Maasai ancestry (like the firstand current president and half the people in Kiambu county). All Kikuyus have some Cushitic ancestry because they absorbed the Athi tribe which lived in Central Kenya prior to the Bantu migration and in Nyeri many have some Arab ancestry(Hence the stereotype of Nyeri people being lighr in color and being husband beaters).Around missionary centres and in the former White Highlands some European ancestry exists as well (Tumutumu in Nyeri for example). That is why Kikuyus come in all colors and sizes. As dark as Wangari Maathai and as light as Brenda Wairimu .As Cushitic looking as Marya and as swahili looking as Nic Wangondu. In Busia County,a mix of Luos and Luhyias is very common. More than half the Samburu have Rendille ancestry!!!Rendilles practise monogamy ,as a result they always had excess women. These women were usually married off to the Samburu. Borana-Meru intermarriages are very common as well. What the hell are you talking about? 2 Likes |

Lagos is a Hub for Entertainment, sports, fashion, real estate,ICT ,business, sports,Luxury etc in Nigeria and Africa. It will continue to give you headache that Lagos economy is bigger than your country. It will give you more pain that lagos has more hyper projects than any city in Africa. There isn't any excuse for your economical flaws. Build your Nairobi to be able to compete economically, project wise etc with mighty Lagos 1 Like |

frer8:I never came up with these figures. The links are there. 80% of nairobbery population lives in slums. About 60 to 80 percent of Kenya's urban. population lives in slums. In Nairobi, informal settlements cover just 6% of the total residential land area, yet house 60% of the city's population (IRIN, 2013). Access to basic services is not the only thing lost in slum life. slum almanac 2015 2016 - UN-Habitat PDFhttps://unhabitat.org › uploads › 02-old 2 Likes |
