Good evening people. Please my husband would be doing short landing next month and coming back to Naija after a month. The PR cards may not be ready when he is leaving. Please how do we apply for the travel document to enable him re enter Canada. Or do I just wait, and send him the PR card via courier when it is ready? Please help a sister out. Thanks |

fnor: Did you fill the IMM0008 and the additional Family information form? or you sent your passport without them? |

fnor: It is simpler to just send the PR card to him through family/friends travelling back home when it's ready. My wife just returned home for a visit yesterday and took PR vards for a family of five back to them. Customs sometimes intercept PR cards inside courier packages and send them back to IRCC, fear of 'Nigerian boys'. So look for trusted family and/or friends to take your husband's PR card back to him. 7 Likes 1 Share |

My People, Happy Sunday. Please I am considering moving to Missisuaga or Brampton especially when the reviews on Toronto in terms of living is quite high. Please which is better to land and stay in as a first timer and no support system in relation to quality of life, cost of living, housing transport, daycare etc as I would be landing with my baby? Help a sister. 1 Like 1 Share |

kazchick: They’re both in the GTA and very close in proximity. In terms of transportation, presto charges $2.95-$3 for each 2 hour ride on regular brampton transit or miway buses. Go buses and trains have different fees. Housing is cheaper in brampton than Mississauga and it depends on the kind of house you’re looking for. Bear in mind though, what you’ll save in housing costs in brampton, you’ll pay in auto insurance. Brampton is known for high auto insurance costs. Daycare is relatively similar in both cities. 13 Likes 4 Shares |

My Short Landing Story Eyin Temi bawoni o. Se wa? So we left Lagos via Ethiopian and because I didn't want to be in a rush. We were at the airport before 9am for a 2pm flight. All bags were within limits and we only bubble wrapped the one with the most important consignment - food. No one said open your bag and we didnt have to get a receipt for food items though my mom who travelled weeks before us had too. Get ready for the 'dash us something' from immigration point to boarding gate. I left Oga to deal with them. The flight to Addis Ababa was ok with ample leg roomy but our connecting flight to toronto was quite snug. Checks in Toronto was ok. The border officers we met were really cheerful and helpful. Have the full address where you want your PR to be sent handy. I had to start calling to know the postal code. I also wasn't asked my list of goods to follow. Na me come they ask where I go sign and stamp am. My luggage was not checked in any way though I didnt have much contraband. The jet lag no be here o and I think sleeping through the time zones on the plane helped. We were up early on our first day like before 4.30am Right now I am cooking ogbono soup. Come chop. 61 Likes |

Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Virt: 7:36pm On May 21, 2018 |
No, I'm not short landing. Hoping to start job search soon but I'm also afraid that if i land a job now, they may want me to start sooner than I'm ready to start. I need time to get a house, settle my kids in school and my toddler in an affordable daycare b4 the work hustle. rainazoe: |

Fellow Ontarians how did you prove proof of residence for your Ontario health card? I haven't decided if I would live in this province though. |
