The ref needed VAR to decide if Bayern had a corner or not with just few minutes left on the clock and Frankfurt were leading 2-1. The VAR decision went, Bayern awarded a corner.. all the Bayern players including the keeper pumped forward with the hope to equalize and send the match to extra time. But behold they failed to connect the corner and I think it was Alaba if I’m not mistaken he got the ball taking away from him. Omo see race o to goal with no keeper in sight, the Frankfurt player just carry ball all the way slot am for open net. Final score 3-1. Kpele Ribery and co. MetalJigsaw: 1 Like |

Icon4s: This excerpt from Telegraph highlights my point. France 98 was a conference made of stars with thrilling drama all the way. And what about France ’98? Like a proper drama, that was a World Cup that built and built, sustaining its excitement right to its conclusion. Played in fine stadiums which did not appear to be under military siege, this was the competition illuminated by sumptuous goals from Michael Owen and Dennis Bergkamp, in which every municipal fountain anywhere across the country seemed to be occupied by a cheerful Scotsman in a kilt. It was also a competition in which the host nation embraced local expectation, rather than withered under it, playing with panache and style until the very last kick. That was the tournament against which every World Cup must be measured. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup/10963667/World-Cup-2014-Was-this-the-greatest-tournament-of-all-No.html |

tbaba1234:I wanted to put that in the parenthesis. I was surprised the day I learnt about it. I used to feel a certain connection to him as per the only African on the world wrestling stage but kai dem sabi beat Kamala. I can't recall watching him win one match. With his invocation of African voodoo and slapping his drum like tummy before getting sound beatings. He never disappointed us- he was always a loser. |

Icon4s: Note this excerpt from the same article. Of course it is better than USA ’94, Italia ’90 and Mexico 1986, tournaments which flickered only occasionally. The author rated 2014 ahead of USA 94 when it comes to drama. A good example is the game between Argentina and Holland in France 98. The dark night of the game was when Ariel Ortega who thrilled the World with his repeated brilliant displays decided to head butt Van Der Sar in retaliation to a complaint. Not long after that, a long ball to Bergkamp and one of the most delightful first touch in the history of football from Bergkamp took the ball in between I think Ayala's leg. A fantastic finish beating, I think Goalkeeper Roa of Argentina ended the tie. This kind of thrill and brilliant display was not felt in USA 94. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:mexico 86 had some all time classic games namely brazil vs france, soviet union vs belgium, argentina vs england and argentina vs germany..brazil vs france had drama, technique and skills all wrapped in one game not sure how in the reporters mind brazil 2014 had more drama than usa1994 |

Kog45: Were Dosu Joseph, Garba Lawal, Mobi Oparaku and Tijani Babangida members of the Super Eagles as at the 1995/ early 96? No, o. Dey were only promoted after Atlanta Olympics which was held later in the year. AFCON is in January. So those 4 players wouldn't have made the 96 AFCON list. |

Simy Nwankwo in action today against Napoli. Crucial game for Crotone. A win could possibly inch them out of relegation. |

Mujtahida:Holland won 2-1, Lopez and kluivert had earlier traded goals. 98 is still my best World Cup till date, tho I was still too young to enjoy football in 94. Germany 2006 too wasn't bad, Tho Nigeria failed to qualify, 2002 is the worst, too many upset and plenty ojoro in favour of Korea, 2010 had lots of stalemate and low scoring games bar Germany who set it alight with their all attacking game. the last one in Brazil was OK too, the top teams came to the party and there were goals. I hope 2018 will be exciting to watch. 2 Likes |

asha80: I was not so cut up with Brazil 2014 but I think it had loads of Drama. From the performances of James Rodriguez, Carlos Sanchez, Yepes, Van Persie's remarkable header against Spain, the underdogs of Costa Rica, the Spanish and Chile game, the destruction of Brazil by Germany, definitely and all time classic, Mascherano putting up repeated spell binding performances, Zuniga's knee to Neymar's back and Neymar signalling he could not feel his legs. The Arjen Robben's dive which sparked heated debates in studio and blogs, the return of the 3-5-2 by Van Gaal with the likes of Costa Rica and Mexico adopting it and more. It was thrilling. |
