Steve Bruce the Aston Villa coach who bought Moses odubajo from Brentford during his time at Hull, wants to work with odubajo once again, odubajo's contract with Hull runs out this summer. If Aston Villa overcomes Fulham in the qualification race, they we probably would be having two of our RBs plying their trade in the EPL come next season.

I hope this deal pulls through because Moses odubajo is quality. I will also like Aina to join a team like southampton on loan next season if he failed to break into Chelsea's first team.

I think it's true, my first real experience of European football was 1999/2000, the rothmans show on nta, mitv also showed some selected epl games, nta showed UCL games every Tues and Wed night.

Yeah. Local stations but not satellite TV.

Satellite TV was way out of reach for the majority of Nigerians then.

I was not so cut up with Brazil 2014 but I think it had loads of Drama. From the performances of James Rodriguez, Carlos Sanchez, Yepes, Van Persie's remarkable header against Spain, the underdogs of Costa Rica, the Spanish and Chile game, the destruction of Brazil by Germany, definitely and all time classic, Mascherano putting up repeated spell binding performances, Zuniga's knee to Neymar's back and Neymar signalling he could not feel his legs. The Arjen Robben's dive which sparked heated debates in studio and blogs, the return of the 3-5-2 by Van Gaal with the likes of Costa Rica and Mexico adopting it and more. It was thrilling.
It was a spectacle. I especially liked the cartoon character with the evocative song that ushered in every match day. I enjoyed the guys in Suoersports studio especially John Barnes (very eloquent) and John Dykes (equally very eloquent)

I will say the 1974 world cup is the best I ever watched, it was packed with lots of surprises. The Polish team was good and could have easily won it but ended up 3rd, I can still vividly remember Lato, a prolific striker for Poland. Zaire just disgraced Africa loosing all there 3 games with a whooping 9-0 loss to Yugoslavia. I watched the final in our principal office when I was in form 4 smiley

among the lot odubanjo is the best but injury have denied him the opportunity to turn out for us. ehizibue is another good mention but he rejected a call-up same time ebuehi did before rescinding his decision. i learnt ebuehi's rise with the national team have made him to have a rethink and he is ready to change allegiance to nigeria if given a opportunity again. i urge rohr to give him a 2nd chance after the world cup. nura should get well first and also seek for first team football if its hard to come by in roma. a move away from roma on loan to the serie B or any developmental league such as the dutch and the belgian league will be a good move for him.

I guess that song was the last I heard any song dedicated to our darling super eagles..

Our artists and actresses should at least give us a warmth song dedicated to the team before the world cup proper sad

ehizibue is very good but slightly better than ebuehi. both were nominated for eredivisie right-back of the season. he was in the dutch u20-21 setup but rumor has it that he is willing to play for 9ja if given a chance. also heard he is on the verge of joining a bundesliga team this summer. after lasting first team football for the first time in his young career, aina moving to an epl team next season should be the next step for his development. a move to any of the epl new boys will aid his development.

the first world cup I ever watched in full was the korea/Japan world cup...
in that tournament after the exit of nigeria....Italy became myfavorite team..
I watched how Del Pedro...equalised for Italy against Mexico...he came up from the bench... In that tournament...my excitement was to watch the likes of del Pedro play being the highest paid world player then and figo was the world best....
the Nigeria goal...against Sweden caused jubilation in school then...I was still in primary school then... everyone shouted and was so excited only for my class teacher to report to us we lost the match afterwards.....I was sad all through that day.

prior the Nigeria match against England...I severally asked my senior cousins and many other senior football lovers...on the possibility of nigeria still making the round of 16.... my cousin told me even should we beat the English team 100 nil we won't qualify... I was so sad....all through.
I had to start root for Italy... the Koreans were the cheats of that tournament.... only God knows how they made it to the semi-finals.... they defeated the Italians with the golden goal rule....
and beat the Spaniards in penalties...with goals from Spain disallowed during the hour mark for off sides....

Senegal almost made the quarter final..by beating turkey if not for selflessness ib the part of the players.... they played Turkey to a stand still that day...even had goals disallowed.... prior to Turkish last minute goal.... that tourney was Turkey first world cup...and only world cup they have qualified for....

I still remember ronaldiho goal against England...which topped the head of English goalkeeper seaman... former arsenal and man city goal keeper....

I remember the spree of goals Uruguay and Senegal game which ended 3 all draw... Senegal was a beast team in that tourney....

I remember the whopping of Saudi Arabia by the German team 8 nil first time I got to know of players like klose and ballack...
afterwards cameroon manage win the Saudi's by 1 nil courtesy of Samuel eto goal....
that tourney was one I will never forget... the majestic stadiums and buildings in the cities of Japan and south Korea were second to none....

I rememeber the fastest goal was scored by the Turkish captain 11 seconds against south Korea I have forgotten his name...though i still remember Hassan sas.
I still remember
that world cup signed my interest in football...

Captain Suker. I watched it last week.

I can identify with what elyte89 is saying.

Most homes did not have satellite TVs in the 1990s. All the champions league games I watched back then in Lagos was on AIT. I don't think any station showed EPL games live.

I repeat. In Port Harcourt, Multichoice was rampant. A lot of people in my neighborhood had it and were following foreign leagues regularly. By 1997, people were hacking Multichoice devices and watching without paying subscription. That year, cable satellites beamed free to Air channels into people's homes. There was a large following at that time. Most bars in hotels showed these leagues regularly.

So people claiming to follow top leagues in the mid to late 90's was true.

Ohhh my goodjoe, Reading this was as if you were playing guitar inside my soul. I see before my mind's eye, Kluivert's legs spread apart as he rose to meet that delicious pass and flick it into the net. I still remember where I went to watch that match. Unfortunately Holland lost during the Pk.

The penalty was heart breaking but having Ronaldo continue the fight for the title in the World Cup with Brazil was the best consolation that came with the fall of the Dutch side. The loss to Croatia was another heart breaking time for the Holland team.

Well, I feel Ehizibue is more talented and versatile than Ebuehi. That is why I rate him above Ebuehi.

Ehizibue can play RB and RW perfectly. Same goes with Odubanjo. It will be great we cap him right after the WC else we might loose a very great player once he begins to shine in the Bundesliga peradventure the deal comes to reality and it will not be easy to fight off Germany and Netherlands if they beckon for his service.
But I still want Ebuehi to be capped because we never can tell what could become of him.

However, If Aina goes to the WC and he somehow gets to play and perform, it's likely he returns to Chelsea were he played a part two seasons ago.

Ebuehi is slightly a better RB bro. Ehizibue plays more as a winger/wing back.

Another good news is that Chinweizu has also said he's open to representing Nigeria when the time is right. He's equally a great prospect (20yrs old now)
