Good morning Pals.
I came to uk on 2yrs tier 4 visa 2014. I switched over to EU spouse family member year 2016 with uk residence issued March 2016. Just want to know if i can apply for uk Permanent Ressidence card by Jan 2019 because i will be 5yrs in uk by then though my uk residence permit is still valud till March 2021. My wife will be 5yrs in uk by October and think of applying both for the uk Permanent residence.
Thanks

The EU spouse 5 years residence card is issued under Arricle 10 of the european laws. This is quite different from UKVI immigration laws, you switched off from. So I do not know if you can get your PR despite staying up to five years. I would suggest that you seek the opinion of a UK based immigration lawyer.

Ask her to send an invitation letter by post with your own passport details in it. She have to attach her passport photocopy, at least 2proof of address *payslip and any other proof. She should mention it that she will accpmodate ypu and bear your transport and feeding expenses.she must signed the invitation letter and she can include her mobile details incase if they needs to contact her

Thanks very much @Phenmeson
It is now very clear to me what my sponsor has to do. And on my part, can you please tell me what documents I need to include?

Good Morning everyone.

I am a Unilag student, and I am currently on a long break(6 months, due to IT), I plan on visiting the Uk during this break.

I have a brother who is studying in Uk, and he plans on inviting me over, now my question is, Please what are the documents to be submitted and what are the things my brother and myself need to get ready, it's our first time, so we are very new to this.

Thank you so much.

I will assume you are not a LNY, so I can tell you that your questions have been answered on this thread a couple of times. Best to read through and pick up the bits useful to you.
You need to be clear about who is sponsoring your trip; is this your first sponsored holiday? Are you an adult or a minor? etc.

When you have read the thread and still have questions, you can seek further clarifications here. Please rep Unilag well o!

I love this forum and I have been glued to it.

Please gurus in the house, I need urgent answers, I'm an intending UK visitors visa applicant. I'm going over there to see my friend for 2 weeks. I'm going to stay with him throughout and He's ready to send me all the necessary documents needed for the application.
I on my part, I'm teacher in a private school where I have been working for up to a year now. I get paid 100k monthly. I'm single, no kids, no tangible properties of my own. The school is gonna give a month leave.

Please, I need to know what I need to do, the documents I need, how much I need in my account statement and how much I should budget for the trip.

Please, help me.

Since y friend will send u all nessary information ps make sure that u know him well and he has a geniu stay in the UK. Ps if u d'nt know him well, I will advice u to use hotel reservation for y application, inorder not to complicate issue, then when u get the visa u cancel the reservation and still visit him. Hope u are the one that will sponsor yr self?

What u need to do: Go the website register and fill y application
The documents u need: employment letter, confirmation letter, letter of introduction from office staying that u are going for y annual leave, 6months payslips , staff Id card, 6months statement of account both y salary account for 6months showing how money comes in and go out.
How much for budget: incase u are booking hotel
Hotel: 55k
Flight fare: 280k
Living expenses and shopping for 2week:150k or 200k

If u are not booking hotel, budget flight fare and living expenses and shopping for 150 or 200
Budget 430k

U need about 700k in y account. Showing the amount u av bugeted for y trip and the remaining amount showing the money u can use when u come bk to Nigeria. Ps try to go through the website and take y time to read the thread, u will really get more informations. All the best

Your salary of #100000 is not enough for you to embark on UK trip. You need to convince UK immigration that you earn a good salary i.e at least 200k and above, you must also have a good Bank statement with regular cash inflow and outflow and lastly have about #1m to spend for your 2weeks trip because a return flight is about 280k and you need to book an hotel or hostel for 2weeks which cost about #300k

What if I reduce my stay to 1week to reduce the budget?

1. I don't really know the guy. I got to know him through my cousin. and haven't seen him before but we chat often and getting along.
he told me he would send me hotel reservations along with the invite letter.
How can I apply without the invitation letter since it's a visitor visa I'm applying for?
2. I'm sponsoring my self
3. What does a confirmation letter look like
4. Can I use my 6 months statement alone cos i don't have any pay slip due to the nature of my job - teaching
5. I don't have any salary account, my salary goes to my savings account. Can I use it alone?

6. I'm going to build my account statement till it reaches 1.5 in 8months with my 100k salary. What do you think?
Thanks
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by monchat(m): 11:15am On May 20, 2018
My advice, since u d'nt know this guy well ps use hostel. There are cheaper hostel u can get at liver pool. Early this year I renew my visa and I use hostel at Liverpool beacuse that is the city I got the cheapest hostel and I book for 10days bc 14days was expensive for me so I reduced it to 10days which was £113, in Naira was 56,500. I reduced the length of days because I wanted the amount to fit into my budget. U can Google Cambrington international hotel liver pool. Check it on booking.com. u can tell the guy to goggle it and book it for u using y details and email. Let him book 10days to tally with y budget. Then when u get the visa he cancel it and u can decide to stay 2weeks or more in uk because duration of visit is just 6months(180day) if u av multiple u can go and come bk. But since u are working u can stay all your leave days and come bk to Nigeria.

Dear u can apply for tourist visa without any invitation. I av never used any invitation letters and I get my visa. It is not compulsory. It is safe u use hotel/hostel than invitation especially when u d'nt know much about d person inviting u.

2. Good that u are sponsoring y self. It is the best. U are an adult and working u are expected to sponsor y self.
3. Confirmation letter is a letter given to u after 6months u are employed. To confirm to u that u are successful in 6months probation. But if u d'nt av it no problem.
4. U must av a 6months pay slip/ check to verify your gross pay,net pay and tax deduction. For u to apply for UK visa u must show y tax deduction, they d'nt joke with it ps. Try to talk to the Admin office in y Skol to make a payslip for u. Without pay slip the consulate officer will reject y application.
5. The main account that y salary goes into, also serve as y salary account, provided the netpay in the account reflect in y pay slip every month. U can use the account alone. If u av two accounts u can use it, provided there is inflow and outflow of cash.

Since u will sponsor y self for 10days
The total cost of y trip to the UK is 600k. This include ticket fare estimated at 280k, accommodation at 56k, the remaining balance for living expenses,train/bus fare, visiting tourist attractions, sight seeing and shopping. This is the amount u will state, just to be at the safe side.
Then in your account u can now av 1M or 800k. But at least 800k. Yr budget is 600k and the remaining 200k is what u still av left bc consulate officer will like to see u still av some money left in y account to fall bk when u get to Nigeria. They d'nt want to see u are spending all y money in y account to go to uk to finish it on sight seeing and shopping.

Yes build up y account. Make sure u d'nt just deposit money there. Make inflow and outflow ps. AV a comprehensive account.

Moreso y salary is a bit small. Do u av additional job? If u av it ps build it up to increase y salary. Since u are a teach u can do extra home lessons to build up y salary ok. All the best

Most offices dis modern time transfer salary to y account and it do refer in yr salary account every month as monthly salary or reflecting the company's name.

In your case since u are going for graduation soon. The only advice I will give u, is that u should state the clearly to the consulate officer in d additional information, that u do receive y monthly salary in cash and save some in the account.
Ps make sure that y company gives u y 6months pay slip showing every deduction, the gross and net pay, tax deduction , pension and others. All these make a good payslip
Then for the store not registered ,it doesn't mean especially if it is a small shop. just explain apart from y permanent job, u also run a small biz as part of your extra income and u get at least 100k per month and y customers do pay u in cash or they pay into y account. (u know how much u make state it). Also state the kind of business to them, u can av a small profile of the business as evidence.

Submit the savings of 6months. And explain why y salary is paid in cash.
800k is ok for 1week in y account if u state y budget well in the additional information.
All the best

What do you think?

The simple fact is that UK govt will like you to have double of your yearly salary because if you have #1.5m your holiday trip to UK of 1 or 2weeks will cost you nothing less than 500k and they knows that most people with low income will not travel back to their country after arriving UK for their holiday

Hello everyone..i picked up our passports today and we got the visas ! I was so nervous !. The balance on my account was about 1m and my wife's was just 100k. I also made one or two silly mistakes at the point of submission. I drafted the cover letter based on advices here and i explained the other funds that came into my account asides my salary.

All thanks to God, Justwise, Frontpagelawyer and others on this thread who provided advices. I am most grateful.[/quote]

What do u mean that the advice given out is a grab?
Who told u she is spending 800 for one week? What I said is that 800k is ok in her account. Did I write that she should spend 800k for one week trip? Ps try to read well. There is nothing bad in aving 800k in her account. It is left for her to calculate the budget she feel that is ok for her one week trip and av some left in her account for her to fall bk when she comes bk.

1.Just fill the tourist visa application which is for vacation. Nothing to convince the ECO, when u apply for tourist visa they know is vacation u are going. This is not USA interview where u need to convince the VO. Just go through the form and answer the questions given and if u av additional information, state it there.

2. Try to do so to improve yr salary.
3. Travel experience will not affect your chances. This is not USA requirements. If u av all y documents inorder and comprehensive statement of account with good balance then u are good to go.

It is depending on u.if u av it u can use it, but if u d'nt av it d'nt stress yr self, provided yr payslip is showing tax deduction . For my two applications I never use tax clearance certificate, my payslip shows my tax deduction.
2. U must av a statement of account that u do receive y monthly salary. The monthly salary in y statement of account must be the same amount in y pay slip. U can also use other statement of account that u av inflow and outflow.

Hi gurus,

Good morning to you all. I applied for a UK Visa 11 working days ago and I made a crucial error of not doing much research before I applied. Post my application I've been reading through this site and truthfully I don't fancy my chances of having a successful application at all.

It seems I just got complacent due to my travel history and didn't put much effort into my application. I'm considering withdrawing And reworking the application for resubmission. Up to which point can you withdraw? Today is the 11th working day. Can I still withdraw if a decision has been made but I'm yet to receive my passport?

This was my application details;

Travel history:
- Been to the UK 6 times. The last time in 2014 on a 2 yr visa where I spent 5 days.

- I have a valid US Visa and visited last year in July for 14 days.

- Was in Europe (Netherlands) in August last year for 6 days.

This application;
- I applied for 2 yrs visit visa
-Reason: To attend a friend's graduation and 10 yr marriage anniversary party.

Documents submitted ( this is where I feel I erred)

- Intro letter from company ( employed for almost 10 yrs)
- 4 months salary slips
- 4 month bank statement with 3,400,00 naira balance
- Treasury bills investiment proof (7,300,000)
- invitation letter from host
- tenancy agreement from host
- passport scan of host and wife
- marriage certificate of host and wife

That's it. Reading through the site i've realised where my application is lacking;

- I didn't add any proof of our friendship/relationship
- I indicated my trip will cost me 2,300 pounds. This is because I intend to do a lot of shopping but I didn't state this in trip reasons. Considering a trip duration of 16 days with no accommodation costs this seems quite high. I earn 520,000 a month.
- I'm 34, single with no landed property or dependants.

What do you guys think? Are my chances ok and it too late to withdraw now. I'm seriously considering withdrawing and adding the proof of relationship as well as having my host get graduation invitation.

Any thoughts? Super thanks in advanve.

This was my application details;

Travel history:
- Been to the UK 6 times. The last time in 2014 on a 2 yr visa where I spent 5 days.

- I have a valid US Visa and visited last year in July for 14 days.

- Was in Europe (Netherlands) in August last year for 6 days.

This application;
- I applied for 2 yrs visit visa
-Reason: To attend a friend's graduation and 10 yr marriage anniversary party.

Documents submitted ( this is where I feel I erred)

- Intro letter from company ( employed for almost 10 yrs)
- 4 months salary slips
- 4 month bank statement with 3,400,00 naira balance
- Treasury bills investiment proof (7,300,000)
- invitation letter from host
- tenancy agreement from host
- passport scan of host and wife
- marriage certificate of host and wife

That's it. Reading through the site i've realised where my application is lacking;

I don’t feel you should withdraw the application. You have good travel history to the UK and the fund for the ECO to overlook these lapses. I will suggest that you wait for the decision. If it’s negative and the reasons are based on these lapses, you can easily correct it and reapply. Having said that, you are permitted to withdraw you application at anytime before a decision is made. However, you will not get a refund. Refund are only possible before your appointment and biometric collection.

Hello house,

Good day every one!

I intend to apply to a UK Visa, I HAVE BEEN REFUSED UK VISA IN 2014
So i want to be on spot with this application.

But i have a situation i believe your experienced advise will help clarify

I want to travel to the UK in July for two reasons:
1.) A training that will be sponsored by my office (holding in bristol, UK)
2.) My brothers university graduation ceremony (holding in London, UK)

For no 1.) I would have the following documents to support my application:

-Letter of admission
-Invoice
-Letter of introduction from office stating sole sponsorship or the trip
-Employment letter
-Contract Agreement
-Payslip

For no 2.) I would have the following documents to support my application:

-Invitation letter from the university
-British passport data page
-Cover Letter from my brother sating he would be responsible for feeding and accomodation
-Bank Statement (proof of address and income)

I am married (Marriage certificate will be attached), but my husband does not intend to apply with me
earn a considerable income monthly (payslip),
I have travel history to only china and dubai (will attach photocopy of expired visa page)
I have been refused canada (twice), US (once), UK (once)

Please my Questions are :
1.) What class of visa should i apply for?
2.)Which of the reasons above is most appropriate to state as my reason of travel?
or do i state both plus supporting documents?
3.)What other documents or information should be added or removed to increase my chances of being granted visa?
4.)Also, i am yet to do a change of name since i am married, does it affect anytin?
5.)I will be attaching bank statement of about 800k balance, is it sufficient?
6.)what duration of visa should i apply for? cos I would be willing and able to afford application fee for as much as two years
7.)Also, i remember that in my uk visa application in 2014 i did not state that i had a brother or relative there (the agent advised me not to as he was not a citizen then), will this affect anything? or how do i address this in this application?

Any kind useful advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Please House ,I intend to attend a friend graduation by August .His school wil be sending invitation.
My concern now is the issue of statement of account......I receive my salary in cash from the cashier every month. I have a savings account I save part of my salary and customers do transfer into the account once in a while, cos I have a store of my own, not registered though.

Please, can I summit the savings 6months statement of account. I have like 800k that can cover the a week expenses . Or it's must my salary reflects on the account ?

Married with 2kids....
Salary is 196,570
Have my appointment letter.
Company ready to give me leave letter since it's just a week off.

You can get a cover letter from your company HR to explain why your salary is paid by cash and support it with your payslips. However, how do you plan to convince the ECO that it is reasonable and justified to spend 800K to attend a friend graduation ceremony on a salary of 196K with a wife and 2 kids. The ECO will be interested in your monthly expenses and how you have been able saved up to 800K without any additional income.
