''Africa is in the process of expanding its manufacturing sector in an attempt to bolster economic development. Nigeria, as part of an attempt to wean itself off oil dependence, has grown its manufacturing base from just 2.5 percent of value added to GDP in 2009 to 8.8 percent in 2016, according to the World Bank. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/21/china-state-led-growth-wont-work-in-africa-former-nigeria-finance-minister.html . . . . Slowly slowly, our dear country is industrializing. More grease to our elbows!! 23 Likes 4 Shares |

Hmmmm Obviously, PMB , has been chosen by God to triumph over his challenges, my challenges, and challenges of all Nigerians. Our voices may not be loud enough to sing his praises. But at the end, those who have willingly submitted their sanity to be used as tissue paper will have reason to bow before you. 10 Likes |

rufusigbokwe: You cannot neglect manufacturing. A huge country like Nigeria, with 200 million people NEEDS to become a manufacturing giant, or she will have to spend untold billions of dollars importing goods she can produce at home. Smaller countries like Ghana and Kenya can afford to specialise in the digital sector alone. Not Nigeria. 22 Likes 3 Shares |

Rosskii: True, but how many Nigerians can Manufacturing employ and pay well? Switzerland built an economy on finance. There are countries who import almost everything but still net positive. We have a huge market yes, but also a large population. Digital can help us equip youths faster and get them earning even in foreign currency. How many manufacturing outfits are larger in valuation than the tech unicorns who are all less than 20 years old? 3 Likes |

Don't be deceived this is a paid advert cuz majority of the so called companies has moved out of the country long time ago. No light, no good road, security is at the lowest ebb just to mention a few. And it is no news that we import toothpick from China. Why do we have to rejoice over this stupid news. Abeg, next page jare. 4 Likes 1 Share |

The period covers 3 regimes of Yar'Adua, Jonathan and Buhari. Many would praise blindly, while those programmed to hate will also disregard the growth because they believed in error that such positive news was ascribed solely to the Buhari regime. 11 Likes 1 Share |

My problem is most of these spikes in indices are tied to oil price surge. We are just going round in circles. Oil is still the main thing population is out growing all other indices. 2 Likes |
