Chaaaiiiiii... Kelechi. Nwakali's ball holding and quick feet are so so beautiful to watch. See how he recovered a loose ball with one turn and used skill moves to wriggle his way out of trouble.

He is a true baller...

Tosin Omoyele's industry up front is really good...

And what a brilliant super stupendous and magical goal of brains class and sweetness from Usman Mohammed!!!!

I am speechless... Is this Nigeria Team B?
Oga calm down jare. Why u dey like over hype everything

Haba, you want him to go blind? Didnt you see the lightening shot? Even the angle the shot went to would have been impossible for any GK to stop.

Don't forget Thomas is short.
TheSuperNerd:
It is official... Our keeper is on a long thing... My goodness! What a strike but poor attempt from Femi to even have a go at stopping the ball... What kind of goalkeeping is this? I k ow he made a good one on one stop from Gameiro earlier in the half but indeed shaa... He has been shaky and has not been assured with shot stopping.

Nigeria B 2-3 ATM

The NFF needs to create a species goalkeeping academy of sorts. This goalkeeping crisis must end. It's embarrassing.

I thought he was the injured LB that started.. I was dancing my baby to sleep while watching the 2nd half lol. Good one from Usman and the Nwakali brothers. I thought the two LBs did well.

Partey try well well.

Nothing to add really.... These were indeed our very best today. Chidi Nwakali even showed another side to his game with his driving dribbling runs... Really impressive...

Omoyele had presence up top. Fine fine player. He even bagged an assist sef....

Samadi was magical in the first half with his touches, runs, and passes... Crested two beautiful chances wastes by Eduok and then later on by Destiny Ashadi.

Usman mohammed was great too. He grew into the game after a shaky initial start after coming on. And his goal was OH MY GOD!!!!

Musa Mohammed showed that we still have depth on the right even in our fringes. He was very lively... Defended well... Went forward well, recovered fine... He led well as captain on the day.

The rest pick themselves up. My MOTM on the Nigerian Side is Kelechi Nwakali.

Thumbs up to Salisu's Super Eagles Team B. Overall, they did well. Lovely game.

or defending for that matter.

What I saw in this game was that Nigerian players are still too instinctive and dependent on flair than their European counterparts.

sometimes the flair works- that 2nd goal was an amazing example- but you're never going to see space to dribble the same defender 5 times on the spot in any decent league.

A tactical person would have dribbled one time and passed the ball. The guy stood there dribbling the same man 5 times.

defending was a similar story. our guys were too quick to go to ground, or getting too attracted to the ball and opening gaps.

sorry..these guys ain't ready for real footy.

Lol cool down.. I retract my earlier statement on Usman and Kelechi.

U can’t rate players based on the club or the leagues they play. Eduok who has 7 goals in the Turkish Super Lig was a flop.

They definitely played pretty well, especially in the first half. Based on this game alone, I can declare Kelechi Nwakali and Samadi ready for an upgrade but, honestly, I don't think anyone of them is ready yet. And I said that because Athletico didn't get out of the first gear, so rating them on this game can be deceiving.

Kudos to the guys. I must say I didnt expect to watch something this beautiful against a side who train everyday while the Nigerians barely meet themselves the first time 3 days ago.
Maximum respect to Diego Simione and Athletico who showed respect to the opposition by playing his best available squad and making a genuine attempt to win the game.
I honestly do not envy Gernot Rohr at this point, Nigerians have been been spoilt by the free flowing football on display in this game. If his team serves up a knee jerking performance at the world cup, Nigerian fans will take him to the cleaners.

Yes he was, and kinda weak defensive-wise to me. The 2 CBs and GK are the Flops of the Match.

Good game but we should not get ahead of ourselves. Athletico played like there was nothing at stake. We can not compare it to Poland/Serbia world cup preparatory games. Different context.
