And the fact that we wamt them to excel doesnt also mean we should wrongly demean them or talk down on their true quality. Why compare the team B of today to the A Team? You even said "so called" A team... Is that not taking enough away from the class they command? They are not Spain or Brazil but they are serious competitors who floored some of Africa's finest in Africa's toughest qualifying group. Even our first golden Generation never had it that easy in 1993. I believe in balance of views on the Super Eagles... So if you must talk about the shortcomings be certain to also keep in view the team's true quality and class... Never bring them down to the level of the B or C team. Never. Unlimited22: 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd:Note taken. Undoubtedly they are better than the B team, but for a set of people who barely trained with each other prior to today, and another team that largely picked itself, it is noteworthy to highlight that at times the A team lacked cohesion. Yes. I said it, and I'm not going to recant because I know what I've seen. |

TheSuperNerd:That Greek team had a plan. The most extreme form of catenaccio, feeding off setpieces and nice counters. And to their credit it worked for them. In your opinion, what's the Eagles best style of play or plan going into Russia? |

No one is saying we are perfect. No one is. But the fact remains that this current Super Eagles have given us more positives than negatives. That is the fact. We have shown weaknesses here and there as do all teams too... We are not perfect... But we are rising. To keep harping on the negatives as if it overshadows the positives is to deny the true power and quality of this team. Unlimited22: 3 Likes |

Maybe it is just me but,Thomas Partey didnt play like a guy on on vacation. He played with as much intensity as I have seen him play in a champions league game,Corea as well.... Also Diego Simione's game face wasnt that of a disinterested fellow. Yes it was an exhibition game but there wasnt a lack of desire and intensity like most commenters would like us to believe. The game wouldn't have been that enjoyable if those vital ingredients were absent in the match. 3 Likes |

Ohhhh but nobody knew that until match day right? Looolll... Nobody knew Greece's plan... Look... You wanna know The Super Eagles' plan... Go stay with Rohr for a week or maybe a night... I am sure you will get all the details... Hahahahahahahahaha... I guess even Greece's fans knew the plans of their darling Greek team to the very letter abi... What we can harp on is our strengths going forward... But a plan is dependent on match day opposition... You cannot just have a general plan. Some plans are opponent specific...and some are general and known to the analytical fans most of the times. So Buddy... Wait still matchday and find out the very plan specifics will ya? No one has made mention of Musa Mohammed. IMO he did well in the early stages of the game but subsequently faded. Can't see how he will claim the rb spot in the future. |

Nigerian Can Only Beat Croatia With Counter Attack – Coach Tomislav Obradovic, the coach of Croatia national team, has revealed that the only way the Super Eagles could defeat his team when both sides meet at the 2018 World Cup in Russia would be through counter attacks, boasting that there is no way Nigeria could overcome them. Both Nigeria and Croatia will go head-to-head at the Kaliningrad Stadium, Kaliningrad on June 16, 2018 and the coach is optimistic that they would see off Nigeria, saying that in the Super Eagles, there are several players in the team with the same characteristics. Obradovic was coach of the Rwandan U-20 National Team for two and a half years, and he almost qualified the country for the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Asked to compare Nigeria’s offensive players Iwobi and Chelsea’s Victor Moses, Obradovic told Sportske Novosti: “Compare all of them with their characteristics? Everyone is similar and quick, good within a group. But where are the world-class players? “It’s probably quite enough, but as a team I do not think they have world-class quality. Why do I say that? They have too many players with the same characteristics. “They cannot beat Croatia. Not in one segment of the game. Neither technical, tactical, nor organisational, nor in any sense.” Tomislav Obradovic warned the Croatian team that Nigeria’s counter attack could be dangerous because they have fast players. “The only way they can outsmart us is if they threaten us from the counterattack because they have such players, quick, fast. “We have to hold the ball, wait and play our organised football because we are better, disciplined, stronger on the ball, better one on one,” Obradovic boasted. http://247ureports.com/nigerian-can-only-beat-croatia-with-counter-attack-coach/ |

i must commend the LMC for organizing this friendly. this will help to give exposure to lads from the local seen and also a decent platform for some untested foreign based players to showcase their qualities to the coaching crew of the A' team. this friendly encounter should not be over analyzed in the sense that its just a test game. few positives can be drawn from the match of which one is kelechi nwakali who has shown he has what it takes to be a member of the A' team. in him i see a worthy successor and understudy to super eagles skipper mikel obi, though its just a single match and a bit too early for the hype and expectations so he should be given more time and closely monitored instead of rushing him. a move away on loan to a decent developmental league will add more to his game and exposure. another notable observation was the skipper of the current u20 team utin ikwuomen who was subbed in for the injured left-back, its not a surprise to me how good he is because i monitored him closely at the last CHAN and tipped him to blossom into a top player soonest only if he is well guided and nurtured. i foresee him as the left-back who will take over from elderson and his integration to the team should start after the world. chidebere nwakali showed some glimpse of his talent but he really need to work hard to break into this current super eagles team. all the same a big kudos to the LMC! 3 Likes |
