jnyuwa02: I grab your point my attorney! Considering the applicant is heading for fall and the clock is fast ticking for his application submission. I see no problem If he submits a notarized affidavit to support his claims with his application, while he goes ahead with the names amendment from his school and NYSC. |

Frankrobbn1: How sure are you that this name change cannot be done in a few days or even a few weeks? That sure is the safest way to solve his problem. Because with the way CIC is so suspicious of Nigerians, a certificate is so important and should bear the right name from the issuing institution. It’s like this guy I asked to go get his transcript from his school. He was so convinced it couldn’t be done because when he attended school, the institution didn’t have computers for record keeping. With a little push and some Nairas exchanged, the school fished out his transcript in two weeks. Please let the guy do himself the favor of going back to his school and correcting the error and resorting to an affidavit only as a last resort. 1 Like |

Vnjz:Vnjz, You need to present a rational explanation to why you left the IT industry for the past 4 years and now wants to further your studies in the discipline of applied network infrastructure. The 15 certifications you've acquired in the IT industry will be of paramount assistance here to explain your intent to further in the IT field. Write extensively to why the cost of your program is justifiable and warrants the cost and difficulty of undertaking a foreign education. Why you can't undergo this program in Nigeria since it will be less expensive here and reduces the financial burden on your sponsor, why you opted out for a PGC instead of a direct masters degree, How the program will be beneficial to you as an individual and to your prospects back home, the lucrativeness of this program in Nigeria after studies in Canada. Activate this and discuss them on your SOP and you will be fine. 2 Likes |

bbclue: Exactly my points said better! Imagine the questions you raised and many more this error can portend. I wouldn’t even put it past these CIC guys to start thinking he obtained someone’s result with a similar name and tried to change into his by doing an affidavit. I mean he obtained an admission in Canada with the certificate or transcript and didn’t see it fit to correct the error then but now? How did this error happen and why did he not correct going through the admission process until now? At least if he makes the move and correct name on cert by talking to the school now, all these questions will go away and affidavit to back up NYSC error might be acceptable. Cross all your “t” and dot all your “i”. Give these guys no ground for speculations. They are extremely suspicious of Nigerians. 2 Likes |

gerrymini:gerrymini, You're expected to fill four (4) forms namely: Document checklist IMM 5483, Study permit questionnaire IMM 5832, Study permit form made outside Canada IMM 1294, Family information form IMM5707En All the best! Cc: chisiudeh take note! 1 Like |

Linsigne:Linsigne, Check Memorial University of Newfoundland! They have tuition fee below your targeted budget. Visa application fee is 55-57K for paper route, while online applications cost 65-67K. You also need to acquire a sponsor to support your application, presenting 1.9M will be insufficient as you will also need to put your first year living expenses of 10,000CAD equivalent = 2,850,000N. All the best! 1 Like |

Frankrobbn1: We are not merely talking about inconsequential change in names or discrepant names as in birth or marriage certificate. This is a critically important document upon which admission or scholarship decision was made. How did he get admission without dealing with the problem then the VO will be forced to ask. Go and talk to school if you hear me and deal with the root of the problem. Bring your certificate in compliance to your real and correct name used to obtain admission. |

bbclue: My Madam! Sure!Yes he is making a good point from his end. I know very well the applicant can present a notarized affidavit to tackle the both errors in his NYSC & Degree certificate and It's not a rule that the applicant must visit his previous university to effect a change in his name. Wait a minute, with the bolded words are you saying based on experience or presupposition? Changing a university degree certificate name isn't so easy as you thought it would be. |

Please, what's the likelihood for an applicant to be denied after medical requested and passed? @Austinpee4 @jnyuwa02 @Frankrobbn1 @mcobex and every other guru(s) |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Frankrobbn1: 10:42pm On May 23, 2018 |
Phocusjosh: From recent findings, it's rare. Getting a medical request and passed and later got refused took place last year, but I haven't come across such happening this year. They hardly deny an applicant nowadays after being called for medicals. Therefore, the likelihood of getting a refusal is significantly low. 1 Like |
