Her ties are stronger in Kuwait. She works there and her husband lives there. If she tries in Nigeria she won't be able to prove strong ties to Nigeria.

That’s not true. She is a temporary resident of Kuwait and that counts against her. The VOs have mentioned this here before.

This rule was long overdue. It is a consequence of us abusing their rules. A situation where people who have been denied a visa clog up interview dates was unfair to legitimate applicants.

but this is so unfair on students after paying alots of money for sevis, i20 and visa fee

Let’s be frank. No one has asked you to pay all these fees. You do so with full understanding of the risks involved. I think it is more unfair to other kids, visitors, pregnant moms who are applying for the first time who can’t get a date because people are applying 5 times in two weeks.

Visa Approved today at Walter Carrington

Thanks to all those who have contributed on this thread. You all deserve some accolades.

No need talking about how I slept or woke up, or how I got to Walter Carrington. I'll just go straight to the point.

Interviewed at Window 1 by an American lady

Me: Good morning

VO: Good morning

VO: What are you going to do in the US?

Me: I'm going to Duke University for my Master of Quantitative Management with concentration in Business Analytics

VO: Duke University is extremely difficult to get into. How did you do it?

Me: First of all, it was recommended by my industry mentor. Then, I took GRE twice and then the TOEFL. Then I applied and was interviewed before admitted.

VO: When did you get your undergraduate?

Me: 2016

VO: What have you been doing since then?

Me: During my mandatory National Youth Service, I worked as a Business Developer for a management consulting firm. Prior to that, I worked in multiple roles as a freelance business consultant.

VO: Have you traveled outside the country before?

Me: In 2016, I was an International Volunteer at a Community Development Project in Ghana (we chorused Ghana together)

VO: Who will be paying?

Me: I got a merit based scholarship, a loan and family support

VO: Married

Me: No

VO: Have kids?

Me: (I laughed) No

VO: Okay, I will be approving your visa. I couldn't remember the renaming things she said

Me: Thanks and have a nice day (after she completed her statement)

I appreciate the love, the bashing and the blackmail. Life itself is full of ups and downs.See you all at the top!!

Congrats bro.

Way too many people applying. They are trying to change this by first blocking your ability to apply multiple times in a short time period.

The consular officers at the Lagos consulate categorically said if you work and live somewhere else (the lady in question is evn married and her husband works there too) you should apply from there cos your ties are stronger there...go to USA embassy on Facebook and watch for yourself. Maybe it's the consular officers that are lying then.
@madam in question if you and your husband work legitimately there, you have a better chance there , if it's otherwise then I cannot advise o.

it is funny how people we look up to for help choose to look the other way.

I asked them mummy and daddy to help vet my proposed transcript and they felt it was too much of a big deal.

No problem at all. Everybody will be alright.

Thank you Sorelee and ariesben5. God's blessing on you always.

You got admitted to Duke... pretty easy to grant you a visa... congrats!

Let those who continue to choose visa-mill schools learn from you.

i cannot help but to shake my head anytime i see you with this kind of comments.

because you were able to get a great cgpa to apply to teir 1 school, does that make people who got lower grade due to circumstances less important?.

oga Ade, their is a reason why the term "individual difference" exist in the English world. so many people who deserved a first class from Nigerian universities ended up with 2.1 and 2.2 due to several situations like bad lecturers, poor academic structures, family problems and the likes. but if you ask me, they also deserve a life, they deserve a second chance and hence, they have the right to apply to lower tiers school since their profile cannot get them to a high ranked school.

i have been on this thread since 2015 and i have counted up to 10 people you pronounced to that "they wont get visa" and guess what, they all came back here to share approval testimonies.

on this same thread, i have seen someone who finished from ball state university, a school that ranked 33% overall and 99 in top public school sharing testimony of getting H1b sponsor.

on this same thread, i have seen someone who applied to central state university in ohio with a cgpa of 2.7 getting scholarships.

oga Tforest, Everyone didn't have the opportunity of getting CGPA 0f 3.0 and above and hence, not everyone will have the chance of applying to a top school.

if every other people on this thread (Lagosismyhome, imperoux, theamerican, femi31) and the others were like you, then this thread would have been long dead with people like you who get irritated by persons who aren't opportune to apply to Harvard or Duke.

life is to short bro. Drop the sadist attitude. live and lets live.

So much peace on this thread ever since the sadist left....I tell you!

he is very good, i must be honest. he is primarily the person who motivated me personally to take GRE and ace it to get funding when i posted here last year about my intention of going to US for masters.

but i won't just overlook the fact that he get irritated when people don't apply to Harvard or duke. we all just have to accept the fact that not everyone will be opportune to graduate with good grades and hence, we shouldn't be irritated when people who didn't have the opportunity to get good grades decide to give life a second chance.

My line manager was a 3rd class graduate from Unilag before proceeding to obtain MBA in the US, i can tell you that many first class graduate can't stand where he delivers. he has been one of the most productive managers in my work place that we all look up to as a mentor and role model. he keeps telling us several times that you are not a failure because people label you as one, you are a failure because you accept their label and see yourself as one.

once again, everyone deserves a second chance, a chance to give life another shot and gain what they missed in the first attempt.

live and lets live
