EEGA:
Exactly,Ighalo has played 3 games for us without scoring.

We really need someone who is consistent in that position.

To be honest, I am more confident in Iheanacho getting a goal than Ighalo. Ighalo's national team record is not good. Maybe Simy can add something.

Ogu is a fringe player in the SE. Moses needs the rest more.

If I try to look into the future Post-Russia, I struggle to put Ighalo in the picture.

Ighalo has been too direct with his style of play .... very very predictable .

The level of talent in the current team? Oh please, this team is not even as talented as the mediocre 2014 team. As a matter of fact, let me reproduce my comparative analysis of the two teams .... for your reading pleasure grin

Goalkeepers:
Vincent Enyeama is better than anybody we have right now. I am quite sure you can't argue that fact. (Advantage Keshi)

CBs:
Oboabona of 2014 is probably better than Balogun (But let's call these two a wash)
Omeruo of 2014 is probably better than Ekong (Let's call it a wash)

RBs:
I will rate Efe Ambrose of 2014 over Shehu Abdullahi any day (Adv. Keshi)

LBs:
Oshinawa is better than Echiejile (Adv. Keshi)

DMs/CMs:
John Obi Mikel is better than Wilfred Ndidi (Adv. Keshi)
Onazi of 2014 is better than Onazi of 2018 (Adv. Keshi)

AMs/Strikers:
VicMo of 2018 is better than VicMo of 2014 (advantage Rohr)
Ahmed Musa of 2014 is better than Moses Simon (Adv. Keshi)
Emmanuel Emenike is better than Jude Ighalo (Adv. Keshi)
Osaze Odemwingie is better than Kelechi Iheanacho (Adv. Keshi)

You don see am? The progress we're making with the current team is that we now have a team structure/shape. I mean, we now play under a system unlike during the time of Keshi. In fact, if you were to handover the current team to Keshi (RIP), we wouldn't have qualified in the first place.

O pari

ykalhaji:

Bros so with VicMo we will beat Argentina at the world cup ? Vic Mo is not a disciplined player when he plays for Nigeria which will make it easy for European coaches to game plan for him. If VicMo is the player we arr going to depend on to score or creates the usual penalties he accrued against African teams, we might not win one single game. I love Vic Mo, but I am just raising a caution, Vic Mo's gra gra was needed against African teams and during our Nigerian Indigenous coaches era, but with the level of talent in the team now and technical expertise of the new coach, Vic Mo's gra gra should be his last option not his go to.

But to your Mikel statement, in that list ROHR is taking to the world cup. If Mikel gets injured omo forget, nothing for us again. I watched Joel Obi is like 33% pf Mikel Obi. So in the world cup Mikel Obi is indispensable, VicMo not so much.

Just one extra match. If he was NDIDI that means he won't even show in camp till eve of world cup. How many minutes has he played this season compared to Ndidi?

Let's wait and see when CR7 will report to camp after UCL final.

His team is exiting in second round. Not a serious contender. Truth is Moses is almost always late to camp.

In terms of actual recognition, only Samuel Kalu has been recognized officially by placing second in the awards..

Your so called "team of the season" was first posted in March by me and is not an official record of anything.

Officially, Kalu is the second best rookie in Belgium. He will have the award on his shelf now.

Please friends, all SE reports now should be in green, as we usually have our debates in between.

Eagles Training: Simon Suffers Thigh Injury, GK Uzoho The Chosen One, Balogun & Ekong Partnership

Published: May 24, 2018

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Gent winger Moses Simon was unable to complete his first training session with the Super Eagles on Thursday morning after suffering what appears to be a thigh injury.

The winger had to be replaced by Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa for the remainder of the practice game.

The Super Eagles medical team had to wrap an ice pack to Simon's injured thigh and he looked okay after the treatment.

If today's training session is anything to go by, three players on the 30-man preliminary roster have their starting spots in Russia confirmed.

Deportivo de La Coruña starlet Francis Uzoho might be the chosen one in goal as he stayed behind after the practice game to get extra training drills from the goalkeeper coaches on how to goal-kick.

Gernot Rohr and his lieutenants did a lot of talking to William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun to help improve their communication in defense so that the unit can function well.

The two central defenders who were first choice during the World Cup qualifiers performed admirably in the workout.
