People who are rich and simple rarely run out of money.

There is nothing more satisfying than knowing that you have more money that you will ever need to meet your basic needs.

In my book, the man that wears $300 fake Rolex is trying too hard to belong but should be pardoned whereas the man that buys $10,000 Rolex is irredeemably stvpid. They both tell the same time. What's outside can never fill the big void inside.

THE CASE FOR ATIKU ABUBAKAR

IN QUOTE HE SAID” ATIKU ABUBAKAR is a good ,detribalized and intelligent Nigerian ,a conservative, broad-minded and liberal fellow ,and has consistently bought into the biting issue that has to do with the country been restructured frankly that is really what Nigeria needs now. More resources should come to this side, maritally detribalized ,he has a Yoruba wife.
Nigeria at this stage of our democracy needs someone who is has succeeded in one thing, like Netanyanhu in Isreal and Donald Trump in US , we all know that Atiku has built a successful conglomerate.
On other candidates, Sule Lamido has not gotten the charisma and national appeal, Kwankwanso is a foundamentalist and has base in Kano alone, his behavior and statement few years ago when there was an issue between Muslims and natives in Ibadan is worrisome and he may be worse than Buhari,Elrufai is a fundamentalist that has not been able to control the indiscriminate killing of Christian in Kaduna, for Buhari ,he has lost the country and has failed woefully on all side.
ARCHITECT OPUTE OJIEH- AN NDOKWA MAN BASE IN ASABA

You have no idea.

You should spend relative to what you are worth. A fake $300 Rolex and a $10,000 Rolex do not both just tell the time. A $10k Rolex is more accurate and precise than a fake $300 Rolex. Read about watches. And when you enter a room with top shots, a 10k Rolex will buy you more goodwill than a fake 3h Rolex.

Say you're a partner at a hedge fund with an eight to nine-figure net worth, looking to sign on a nouveau rich Chinese client, who flew you on a chartered Gulfstream to meet him in his fourth home in the French countryside; you don't want to show up like Zuckerberg showing up at work (even though he is much richer). You want to show up in a four-figure custom suit, a five-figure limited edition Patek Phillipe and a Ferragamo pair of dress shoes.

Heck, the Patek Phillipe may kick off the conversation, warming you up to the client.

Now, if you had a six-figure windfall and do not have the same profile as the hedge fund partner, do you go all out to splurge on such luxury items? F*ck no! You may be able to afford it, but buying it is not an informed decision.

Want to know how to manage your finances? Watch how the old money spend.

If you've got a big void on the inside, spending a ton wouldn't fill it, but so will not spending. Striking a balance is harder than it looks. It's an art.

You're right here. Remember listening to his songs - Plantain Boy, Dem Mama Dem Papa and Ogologoma - those days. Same generation as SkyB and one other dude whose songs controlled the airwaves then.

He has not really improved to maintain a standing in the industry. But then, how many persons from the mid-2000s to late-2000s have stayed relevant like him? Talk about Ruggedman, Yahoozee etc.

You have no idea. Either you watch too many movies or the black in you is doing numbers on you. By black I mean, look good first and make money later. Ever wondered why blacks are at the bottom? Look in the mirror because you are a prototype.

Investors are impressed by returns/results not appearance. They have data on your performance and that matters more. The fictitious scenario you created is more in M & A than in portfolio management.

Like I said...stop watching too much TV series.

I take it from your reply that you haven't ever researched partners at hedge funds.

Here's an excerpt on partners at Goldman Sachs (just a bank not a hedge fund),

"Partners always wear suits, even when going for a smoke," says the senior banker. "You always know the MDs who want to make partner," she adds. "They have new suits. They start wearing their jackets. They grow beards."

Link -- https://news.efinancialcareers.com/us-en/242688/secret-dress-codes-investment-banks

You think these MDs don't have "returns/results"? Why then are they putting in the effort to pass off the "I'm successful and I look like success" message? It's part of their MO. That's high finance. Surgeons don't have to do same for their job, they only have to put on scrubs. Eventually, if they're looking to become directors at centers where they have to kiss a$$, they'd have to tune up, buy more expensive tux and dinner dresses. It's social interaction/making an impression 101. You don't escape it.

You only get one chance to make a first impression and if you're about to land an HNWI as a partner, you don't go looking like a pauper or like you just stepped out of a golf course. It shows you have no pride in your job, no respect for your client, and if the client doesn't like you, no amount of results/returns will get him/her to sign up. He'd take his/her money elsewhere.

The richest 10% of the world population control 76% of the world's wealth. In America, the richest 10% own 84% of all stocks. If you want a slice of that huge pie, you can't afford to treat each prospective client like he is replaceable. He could very well be your last as word travels quickly in their circles. You impress, you flatter, you do everything to get that account. And if a five figure limited edition Patek will get your foot in the door, you'd buy it.

You call it the movies, it's someone else's reality.

And to your nonsense about blacks at the bottom. In individual professional settings, blacks excel. And they play the game. Do some research, it'd do you good.

And do you see how you went straight into doing racial profiling, like you've got nothing else to back your opinion. Inferiority complex is dangerous. Wean yourself off of it.

You are going off tangent. Investors fly down to meet you because of GS and her track records. Wearing a suit (corporate attire) is the official dress code at GS and have nothing to do with Patek, Rolex or other expensive watches. I don't do research on things I see or witness. Therein is the difference. People have different things they splurge on: cars, houses, watches, etc. But it is foolhardy to believe that the Patek you wear will make a good impression on an investor or VC to cut you a multimillion dollars check. In a roundtable conference, the person you are trying too hard to impress may not likely see your timepiece. Your watches are there to impress your mates and ladies (for those who know the difference).

Racial profiling? Yes. Because what I stated is a fact.
