Ha na carshopper and Gazzuzz be the real veteran o .. Me am operating from afar ..but I have a good team around.. I dey manage small small, the only truth I tell you. Don't expect to start making money rite away o.. Same weeks u will loss money, sometimes money made will go back to repairs. Do the basic check, guarantor, tracker. Address verification, assurance deposit should be around 15k to 20k .. Once the driver start to default, use their deposit to try and balance up.. Collect your car if the driver is messing up. It is better to have your car to sit and wait till you get a good driver.. Than to lose money and have them drop I meant dump your car in bad shape.. And than spend for repairs.

NOTE: "assurance deposit " will not solve all the problems. It will only help to reduce your risk.. Nobody wants to get f*@ked over, but at least nobody wants to be f@cked twice

Any assistance I can be of this is my email dru23@hotmail.com

The worst part is that she also borrowed 700 naira from me. Thank God the Bros later show, I had to allow her go inside the hotel. Though it's risky sha but what will I do? How she take locate the Bros is what I don't know. But they paid and left small change for me too. Lol

Bayo is not his monika, i gave him my 06 tokumbo camry on HP (N35k) weekly without any deposit. after 2 week he came up with stories of hw he can be paying 30k because of family issues, i told him to continue with 30k for 3mnths in other for him to to sort wat ever family issues he has and then go back to the agreed 35k after 3mnth. but wen it was time to strt 35k payment, he came with more family issues and i got tired and called for a meeting with him and my lawyer (meanwhile he carried forward 3weeks payment within that 3mnths he was paying 30k). after the meeting, we agreed 30k but he must make sure he doesnt not skip any week payment.

Before we left he told me he wanted to travel for 1week and he doesnt have somebody to secure the car with and as such he will like to park the car in my compound, and he explained to me that he will change the 2 damaged frnt tyre, spare tyre and the side mirror when he comes back because he was gng for an installation, only for him to call my lawyer after 2 days that the contract did go as plan and he wants to quite uber.

3 tyres are completely damaged, front shocks are gone, front and back bumper dented, passenger side mirror is damage, i am yet to ascertain other parts of the car because i traveled the following day he dropped the car. I have called my lawyer we are going to gt him arrested and also move against his guarantors because we agreed that his guarantor will be held responsible for any damaged caused by him that can not be taken care of by the insurance coy

Its painful because i knw he will still get a vehicle here on this platform..

Wow,this is quite story.

I believe the red flag started showing when he start giving stories after the 2nd week.

Depending on the form you gave the Guarantors to sign, you can actually hold them responsible for all damages done to the car.

Do you call them to confirm they actually signed the documents and understand what they signed. Do you have a copy of their work ID?

Kindly put a call across to them to produce the driver within (stated hours, days or weeks) to come face the music. If they don’t, get FSAR or any other respected force aside police to their office address and demand full payment for repairs of your damaged vehicle.

Or you can simply tell the guarantors they have some days, weeks to repair your damaged vehicle or they will not only find themselves in the Labour market, they will also be behind bars.

Have a good mechanic inspect the car, get a quote of necessary OEM spare parts needed to fixed the car plus workmanship fee. Send the bill to the Guarantors and give them deadline which failure to comply you can have them reported to their company Human Resources as a debtor and you could have your money deducted at source (Before they pay their monthly salary) or the company pay you upfront whereas they deduct it from the guarantors monthly salary.

That’s one of the essence of having a good and verifiable guarantor before giving your car key to the driver.

I don’t really stay out at night. But on a few occasion. I will recommend places with activities like Admiralty Lekki phase 1, clubs are there. Police patrol and it is well lighted and Awolowo road Ikoyi. These are places I have crashed over night. U will see fellow Taxify/Uber guys around there.

Did the driver run away with the car or snatched it from the partner that you want him to involve FSARS? The way and manner the duties of this outfit has been bastardised no be here. undecided

Hello everyone,
Do you really know who is driving your Uber vehicle?
Do you have an ironclad agreement with your Renter/hirer?
How protected is your Uber and Taxify investment?

Available resources for protecting your Rideshare business:

- Partner-Driver rental agreement template: An up to date rental agreement template that lays out relationship between car owner and renter.
This document protects both parties.

- Partner-Driver hire purchase agreement template: An up to date hire purchase agreement template that lays out relationship between Car Owner and hirer.
This document protects both parties.

- Guarantor form: A guarantor form to provide your renter/hirer with for verifying his/her guarantor.

- Vehicle handover, inspection and return checklists: These are checklists that detail the exact condition of the car in diagram and written form. When handing over the car to the renter/hirer, it is very important to complete a Vehicle handover Checklist, during inspection, it is equally important to fill out a Vehicle Inspection Checklist, and during return, in order to check any level of damage to car, the handover checklist is compared to the Return Checklist, any damage discovered between the two documents determines whether vehicle was returned in the shape it was given out or not.

While we all pray for non-defaulting and responsible drivers. It is equally important to take steps to secure your investment in case of an unforeseen dispute.

Bros. Very sad what has happened to you. But do not be discouraged. Next time please do what i have done for the 3 cars i presently have on HP (Zero Default Rate So Far).

a. Make sure you collect at least 250k as security deposit. No deposit no deal. So many would come to you with plenty big big grammmer (house am sure you all still remember the Andalusia guy) sweet words, stories that touch etc as to why they cannot afford the 250k security deposit. Dont ever shift ground. Just be patient until the right person comes along. Might take you weeks but you would eventually find the right person.

If you had collected deposit of 250k, he wouldn't have the balls to drop off your vehicle the way he did. You would simply have used the 250 to fix your car and return the change back to him if any remains. Moreover, any driver willing to part with his 250k for a HP deal is very serious and would likely stick to his commitments.

b. Guarantor is key. Make sure you get 2 guarantors, meet with them in person and be sure they understand the agreement they are signing.

All the best.

Assurance okay but in what position are you to advice anyone to say no to HP? It's the owners choice, I have a vehicle on weekly rental and already planning to give the next on HP so I don't bother about repairs or any other things besides my weekly payments. You guys should learn not to impose your believes on others.

To all my uber / taxify partners .. Am thinking about getting a Honda civic 05 or 06 for uber ..please any experience owners here.. I do have one 04 on the platform, which is doing fine.. Due to the fact that the currant driver likes it and treats it like his own . Like I always tell people, do your research well well.. So now am seeking a second opinion... thanks in advance, and also I was told that 04 to 05 are very rugged .but new shape from 06 upwards not so rugged

Civic 06 is one of the first set of cars I got on uber, Bros that car is not just cut out for the job. Three weeks into the job, fuel gauge stopped working after its first Lekki water experience. It's a beautiful car though, perfect for personal use.
