We support our own, but not to the extent of deliberately pulling the wool over our own eyes in the name of patriotism. Hardwerk may be toeing extreme lines by calling the team poo, but it is an inescapable fact that the team is bang average. 1 Like 1 Share |

Unlimited22: Bang average ..... hmmmm If i may ask, did you conveniently forget that this bang Average team was in the same group with a current Afcon winner(Cameroon), the best team in Africa as well as a former Afcon winner(Algeria) , and Zambia (Another afcon winner) Did you remember how we ALL went into panic mode after the draws were made that what sort of draws is this? Do you also know that we qualified for the world cup with a game to spare? ( cant remember if that has ever happened before). We didnt bring out our proverbial calculator. So because we lost to Serbia, everyone starts with defence mechanism aimed at managing their disappointment level so as not to be disappointed or say Sebi I told you? Oh ye of little faith! (Now I understand why Jesus himself was angry with his own disciples) The people that are supposed to be of one mind and unity are the ones that are pulling things down. Does a fountain bring both sweet water and bitter at the same time? Yall need to check this garnished pessimism that you call realism. Enough already! Support your team Pray for the good of Jerusalem (Our Nigeria) and they that love it shall prosper. Bang average? Seriously? 6 Likes |

kennysville:Good God, I wish you'd seen me worrying when that draw was made and how I screamed my head off after every goal, every save, every dribble. However we shouldn't get complacent because we qualified this time around without employing a mathematician to do permutation and combination. The Serbia game was a reality check. The team is improving, but is still average. It is not contestable. Our prayer is that the average team forms a cohesive Unit with a mix of terrier hearts and flashes of individual brilliance that will take us far. If I don't say the team is excellent, which isn't true, does it mean I'm from Niger Republic? Na WA o. |

asha80:Both. We seem to have been lured into a sense of security that's completely unfounded. There should be a difference between self-belief and stupidity. Even scholars define cowardice as not the absence of but the ability to act in spite of fear. |

asha80:Go and see the Serbia game again. Even before that, our last two qualification games. Even the game we won against Poland. Then compare that to our games against Cameroon and Algeria. Spot the differences. Are you serious? The complacency of the fans has no bearing on the team? |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by kennysville(m): 10:03am On May 25, 2018 |
Unlimited22: If we are to use the serbia game to judge the performance of the team, dont you feel it boils down to the tactics employed by the coach in executing the match? Dont you also see that we lost all games that rohr ever lost because of wrong personnels on the midfield? Who will float the right passes to the attackers?... let us watch the England game and the Czech game before labelling them bang average. I am not calling them world class but i will also not call them bang average. Lemme ask sef? When will this team be good enaf? If it were all about quality, Barcelona suppose win against Roma home and Away na? The earlier we realize that football has changed status, the beta. On paper, so many teams will beat Nigeria team but at the end of it all, it is 11 men vs 11 men. If upset happens , una go say na luck. 2 Likes |

Unlimited22:you are very funny..i guess Croatia got complacent after qualification that was why peru beat them 2-0 in a friendly the same day we played poland..also too argentina got complacent that was why they were threashed 6-1 by spain..look friendly matches are to fine tune lots of things in a team..results help boost confidence but results are quite deceitful..i guess we were also complacent when the team beat Argentina 4-2..what was the complacency against the zambian team in uyo?is it because we beat them by a goal only?so you judge complacency in result only and not in their actual effort?no reason to even talk about the aigerian game in algeria 3 Likes |

Certitude: Who saved you from crashing out of the 2010 world cup? It was one legged Obafemi Martins. Did I hear you say his short status is his undoing? Bhuuuhahaha! Are you serious? How tall is Messi? How tall is Aguero? Does that mean Ighalo, Simy and Kelechi are better than these players? Bhuuuhahaha! My Oga, Martins will bench Ighalo, Simy and Kelechi in any team. He's not in the team because of injury. EOD 3 Likes 1 Share |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by kennysville(m): 10:19am On May 25, 2018 |
Lemme say this to us all, we have lethal forwards, fairly good defence, average goalkeepers and a not so excellent midfield. We need quality bsll distribution and the defence is not where the solution lies. It lies in our midfield connecting to the attack. If every other national team coach starts underrating our team based on the friendlies they saw us play, hmmmm na problem them dey so. We know our mistakes. And that is very obvious. Our issue is not poor goalkeeping, neither is it blunt attack. Its not even in defence. The SA game and the Serbia and Poland games will attest to this. Plug these loopholes and see the team in a different light. |

Martz101: Rabiu Ibrahim was named among the top 'prospect' too but you know that didn't translate to his missionary football journey. We are talking about the best performing Nigerian players in the Belgium pro league this season and which among the top 3 deserves a call-up to the National team. But as it stands, Samuel Kalu is not among the top 3. Fact. |

krattoss:all your examples are club related. You have not shown us one example that pertains to the National team. Let us go down memory lane as to how indiscipline has cost National teams. 1) the 2002 French team where everyone was too big for the coach, how far did Anelka and his gang go in the World Cup? 2) Ghana in 2014 Imagine if three or four players in this team decided to follow Moses' footsteps, would it be alright? 2 Likes 2 Shares |
