To those complaining about writing, I am no expert but I would like us to tone it down a bit and reflect on where we are getting it wrong. It is an Examination and with every examination, there are different criteria. In listening and reading for instance, you are expected to write short and precise answers with not more than two or more words and a number as the case may be. This is not so with writing where you are tested on your ability to deliver on the tasks given. We need to look inwards, go back to the drawing board and discover ways to do better from understanding, construction, task completion, coherence and cohesion, vocabulary usage, grammatical range and accuracy to writing in "long hand" and not use abbreviations or chat words and phrases or using pidgin/broken English or our mother tongues in our day to day activities as all these inadvertently may come in to play on the test day as some of us don't know how to draw the line and write the way we think in our mind thereby making some mistakes. Same way we took listening serious while doing practice sessions is the same way we should with writing. Find below screenshot of how writing is marked. https://takeielts.britishcouncil.org/find-out-about-results/ielts-assessment-criteria Others can weigh in on how to do better in writing as the above is just my personal opinion. 7 Likes 1 Share

@ Bababode825 I also requested for EOR with IDP but I got a mail 5 days after the request was made. I checked my result online before collecting the TRF at their office and my writing( which was what I requested for) was upgraded from 6.5 to 7. So I believe they also change the results online if the status has changed. I also met another applicant who got a positive EOR on writing when I collected my TRF. For anyone that intends to go for EOR with MOD, it is possible to get a positive outcome if you are sure you made the word count, with legible handwriting and wrote on topic. 14 Likes |

When i went to MOD to seek remark for my writing, the admin staff also told me not to request a remark. He said and i quote ''You are looking for a .5 you may not get it. If it were 1 mark or more i would say go ahead''. It did not make sense to me at all so i proceeded to request a remark and alas it came out unchanged. I have registered with the same MOD because i took it in my strides that maybe i didnt do well. If my next writing score isn't acceptabel to me i will definitely do something drastic. Late response. Apologies. I kept missing it. Just in case you haven't decided. 2282 is more likely for an IT Service desk personnel. It could do with a little rewriting or not. hopefuliam: |

No ma'am!A native speaker of a language is someone who has spoken a particular language since they were a baby, rather than having learned it as a child or adult, for instance a Canadian from Quebec won't call himself/herself a native speaker of English but French. ysteph: 1 Like |
