Good evening house I have a very few questions that I want someone to help dissect and give an answer to. The questions are listed chronologically as thus: 1. I am currently preparing for GRE and will be writing in July. I have tested myself with the ETS powerprep and my average score for both timed 1 and 2 were good compared to my program requirement (Q160 V154) but I have tested myself on Magoosh prep and got a very low score in average ( Q157, V145), I even got as low as 155 and 143. Verbal been giving headache. Now my question "which of these two emulates the real test" Or do I just start reading from start and assume I have not read anything? 2. I have been searching and searching for schools to apply and one deficiency I have is that I am limited to only schools that accept WES evaluation because I have HND in Electrical and electronics engineering and evaluated to be 3.6 of 4 but came up with this list of schools. I. Florida institute of tech: A tier 1 school but ranked 601 in the world, I don't understand why it is like this but if someone can just help explain why a tier 1 research institute is ranked so low or am I getting it wrong? Because I thought a tier 1 university should be ranked as high as 1-200 Ii. Florida state university. c. Georgia tech: requiring a competitive GRE score and that's why I need to ace that thing III. North Dakota state university. Although I can circumvent the GRE according to the requirement. IV. Illinois institute of tech: GRE score as high as 312 Thanks, please ignore any grammatical error because nobody in infallible |

Predstan: You're doing a great job! 1. The ETS Powerprep is the best simulator of the real test. Assuming you did not see any of your practice test questions prior to the test, the worst you can get on your main test is x-5 where x is your ETS practice test score. Magoosh, on the other hand, is a helpful resource but it seems that their Quant is slightly more difficult than the main GRE. I will advise you complete the entire Magoosh 500+ questions before taking your exam. Answer all of them and know the various concepts tested. Since your exam is almost 2 months away, there is enough time to consume the entire questions on the question bank AND LEARN THE CONCEPTS TESTED. Also, try your hands on the Manhattan Quant tests questions In summary, nothing replicates the main GRE test than the ETS PowerPrep. The worst you can get is 5 less than your ETS test score assuming your test score isn't inflated 2. There are millions of universities in the world. A tier 1 university in the US being number 600 in the world is not a bad thing. Remember there are approximately 15 elite schools in the US combined with ~ 10 in the UK, ~3 in Singapore and several other countries of the world. So, I don't think a school being ranked 600 is a bad thing. Just try your best and join the best school you can. Your school list is nice especially Georgia Tech and FIT. I wish you the best of luck fam. 2 Likes 1 Share |

theamerican, this is the proposed transcript dear. I'll the expecting your feedback. Thank you Me: Good morning sir, how are you doing? VO: Good morning, I am doing good. Pass your Passport and i20 form please. Me: (passes documents) VO: So why are you going to the US? Me: I am going to the US to study for a Masters degree in Healthcare Management at the Califonia State University, Los Angeles. VO: How many schools did you apply to? Me: 3 schools. Aside CSU, I applied to University of Maryland and University of Indiana. VO: Why California State University? Me: I applied to California State University because their curriculum is interdisciplinary as I would have the opportunity to take up courses in a variety of areas such Finance, Law, Public policy, Organization psychology and so on. Also, upon my initial research, I found out that theses universities have an ongoing research in Healthcare management and policy. However, CSU have a research project specifically in the area i am most interested in, medical intelligence and surveillance services in the healthcare industry, which is headed by Prof Daniel Meade. I reached out to him about my desire to join the research group and he encouraged me to choose CSU. Vo: What are your study plans? What will this program do for you? Me: I would be taking 36 course units in the 24 months duration of the program with core courses such as Healthcare Law, compliance and ethics, Managing a healthcare organisation, financial management in healthcare organisation and so on. These courses will enable me to develop the necessary managerial skills and awareness of recent innovations ans reforms in order to fulfill the responsibilities of management positions in the Nigerian healthcare industry. VO: Where do you work? Me: I work at the hospital service unit of *********, **** Lagos as an administrative specialist. My job role is primarily to provide admistrative suppprt for admistrative assistants, ensure that day to day operations functions effectively and efficiently, and to handle amd organize all medical documents and records. VO: Who is sponsoring you? Me: My mother VO: What does she do? Me: She is a medical doctor and CEO of ***** Healthcare Limited, Oregun. VO: What are your plans at the end of your program? Me: I'll be coming back to take over the administrative unit of my mother's healthcare company and will also be able to collaborate with the federal government in improving medical intelligence and surveillance as the Nigerian health care had suffered several disease outbreaks in the time past such as Ebola, lassa fever and so on. Hence, there is need to tackle the problem. 1 Like 1 Share |
