EmmGee:still not convinced about ndidi played as the defensive midfielder just in front of the defence line |

Icon4s: At the bolded Sir..... we can only talk about who was not is. Until we see the Lineup in a competitive Match at the Mundial precisely, then we gonna have the Answer. Change is constant, and the only permanent thing in life is Change, thus between now and then anything can happen Sir. 1 Like |

Icon4s:i know mikel is there but then lets look at iwobi from the middle and iwobi from the wings for Nigeria. in the first match against zambia he scored from the middle. in the match against algeria he was ineffective from the middle. in the match against south africa he was very ineffective. in the match against zambia he was effective but his goal came from the middle. against algeria he was flat. against argentina his two goals were from the middle. against poland he was not effective from the wings. against serbia he came alive when he disobediently drifted into the middle sensing that there was a disconnect in the team. from the middle 3 goals. from the wings no goal, no assist. what does this tell us about not just his preference but his effectiveness? |

Mujtahida: So you think Simon will start against Croatia even if Iwobi is fully fit? |

Icon4s:It's Iwobi, against Poland and Serbia he was Rohr"s choice with Simeon on the bench. |

Icon4s:i do not think so but i cannot say for a fact that Iwobi will start. its a fine point but that is my argument. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by tbaba1234: 5:16pm On May 26, 2018 |
asha80: He has recovered. He is training fine. Simon Moses is not doing any training at all. He is going for a scan to determine the extent of his injury. Ekong sat out training with a complaint yesterday but was part of training today. Ndidi is almost there and is recuperating nicely. 2 Likes |

Mujtahida: We can't speak of what's gonna happen in the Future since we ain't God. Also we can't decide who starts for the Team at the Mundial since we ain't in charge. Technically the Coach might opt for Iwobi, but there are some Matches that tactically Rohr will have no other Choice but to start Simon and keeps Iwobi on the Bench. |

Mujtahida: With all these you prefer Iwobi to sit on the bench so Simon can start on the wings? I say again even with Iwobi's level of effectiveness or ineffectiveness, he is still more effective than Simon and Musa from the wings which is why he starts ahead of them. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by asha80(m): 5:20pm On May 26, 2018 |
Kog45:he is the very mobile type that runs round the midfield breaking up opponent play and getting stuck in tackles.a bit like a gattuso type player. he does not strike me like the type the plays his best just sitting in from of the defence a la makalele 1 Like |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 5:21pm On May 26, 2018 |
Oasis007:this is precisely why i began the debate. if you read me well i use the word "opinion", "judgment". if its based on those two words then fine. but as per facts its not so clear cut unlike in Vicmos's case. ultimately one's opinion or judgment might be prove to be correct |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 5:23pm On May 26, 2018 |
Kog45: You don't get my point They raised questions about Iwobi's effectiveness from the wings. I explained that even at that his level of effectiveness or ineffectiveness which ever way you look at it, he is better than either Musa or Simon. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Kog45(m): 5:24pm On May 26, 2018 |
asha80:Yes you are right but this is national team where every player must play to coach instructions strictly. He just need to sit in front of defence cos we have Onazi,Etebo,Ogu and Joel who are good CM. |

Oasis007: Give me examples of such matches in this world cup and the kind of tactics that will make Rohr start Simon ahead of Iwobi. |

A normal person shouldn't argue who is meant to start between iwobi and moses simon if they're fit!!! Moses simon will definitely start ahead of iwobi!!!! Our match first match SE would definitely win with a one goal difference (2-1) Next march trust me na that one hard pass don't argue with me but your ancestors, lol naija go escape with 1-0 Argentina..straight draw |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 5:30pm On May 26, 2018 |
Icon4s:but moses has been more effective from the wings than iwobi. in the match against cameroun he floated in one dangerous cross that vicmo could not nod home. he eventually gave an assist to moses from the wings. against cameoun he scored form the left wing after he and vicmo swapped wings. but iwobi has not given even one assist. remember iheanacho's freekick against argentina was as a result of a foul on mikel from a pass in the middle by iwobi. even musa has recorded one assist as a winger in the argentina match. iwobi none. in terms of football intelligence iwobi beats the two of them but as far as effectiveness from the wings is concerned there is nothing to supprt your assertion that iwobi is the better winger Sir its not a matter of his preference ooo . the stats say he is more effective from the middle. 2 Likes |

Based on what i saw in the training, I think Lokosa will start on the right, Simy in the middle and etebo on the left. Eze will start in defence with Omeruo.. This is just a guess. |

Mujtahida: More so...... argument ain't won by being judgmental, and in my Opinion the Purpose of a Debate is for the Audience to learn. Let's drop Stats to justify our Stance for the sake of the Audience. What makes Iwobi a better Winger ahead of Simon and the Reason we are convinced he should be the first Choice tactically and Technically?! Bar Injury or Fitness Problem, Simon is a Starter for Gent as a Winger. Even when he returned from Injury during the crucial moment of the Season for Gent, Kalu was sacrificed and relegated to the Bench as a Super-Sub despite been in form of his life. Whoever envisaged Musa could deliver 2 super Goals against Argies in the last WC?! He was played on the left, hence he had the freedom and audacity to cut in and shoot. When was the last time he played majorly on the left Wing for the Eagles, especially under Rohr?! Simon is also more effective on the left Wing, but the Position is a no go Area as far as VicMo is in the Lineup. 1 Like |

Kog45:he should even be coming in as a sub for mikel or operate as a fasle nine. me i have searched to see his effectiveness as a winger i no see ooo.we can point to matches where moses inspite of being not up to iwobi in footballing IQ still proved very effective but iwobi as a winger i no see. at a certain point during the WCQ on this thread we were even saying that iwobi dey flop abeg especially after the algeria and south africa match. i do not think rohr would have started him against cameroun even if he were fit. yes mikel is there and doing it so well but it doesnt mean iwobi is effective from the wings. |
