House please your candid advice would be appreciated. my wife was denied visa 3 times in 2016 and we decided to have our baby in Nigeria while preparing that our second born will be in the us. we tot we should go as a family for a visit visa then we go for visiting while she go later to give birth but the problem now is , my colleague said we should not go as a family because of Canada issues that we would be denied they may think we want to run away instead we should process Canadian immigration stuff. but am thinking of applying alone for visiting visa while she would apply for child birth along with our daughter. Gurus in the house, kindly advice what should we do? my wife is 5weeks gone |

Latifahed:It's not buying dates per say. It's just normal human beings sitting down on their computer 247 and monitoring the dates. The moment someone cancels or embassy releases any new dates, they quickly grab it. So if you have the time, sit on your system and do same, you may be lucky to get a date 2 Likes |

sevule: Lucky you, having to pay only $1000 out of pocket, I wish I had insurance cos I heard the monthly fee is next to nothing for residents in the US but since i don’t have US insurance, I need to do the needful and pay the bill that was quoted to me by the service providers. If we continue to do the right thing as Nigerians, the outside world will begin to see that not every Nigerian is a fraudster. Little drops make the mighty ocean. Something I noticed in the US is that, a lot of people are in debt, I love that their insurance system works efficiently for the insured. It’s actually easier to pay $1000 out of pocket, not many people in the US can pay $8600 out of pocket. 5 Likes 1 Share |

TWoods: Hi Twoods, it’s been a while, where have you been? I used to enjoy your constructive criticism, even though once in a while, it could be quite mean but I used to look forward to reading your opinions. For the cost, that was what I was charged by the service providers. All the best and have a lovely day. 1 Like |

Springdance: That is the reason why self paying patients have lower bills than patients with insurance because the insurance company makes a whole lot of money from premiums paid by the insured and the hospitals are aware of this and double or triple the charges. During my three months industrial attachment in a hospital laboratory in my undergraduate days, the hospital charges times two or more in some cases from company patients(those been paid for by their place of work) than normal private individuals. This is because the management know company can pay more than individual paying out of pocket and it may take up to a month or more to get the bills paid by the company, but individual will pay instantly. This same applies here to insured patient and patient paying out of pocket, so been charged lower than insured patient is nothing out of the ordinary like some people will want to project. 7 Likes 1 Share |

From personal experience, TB are not really valued by VOs. They prefer the easily accessible cash in your statement. And 2m seems to be quite small for this sort of trip..how much is your budget sheet value in total? aremso: 1 Like |

Gtbank Naira Master cards work on POS with provisions to insert but not by swiping. Though, I was surprised on two occasions when the swiping worked on the southwestern airline POS while paying for excess luggage at Dallas Lovefield Airport on our way to El Paso TX Coh15: |

Peemama: i applied for an expedited date on the 11th of April and got a response on the 12th scheduling me for April 24th. The content of the report from my doctor in Nigeria stated the peculiarity with my pregnancy and a transfer to a hospital in Houston that can handle such, i also attached a an acceptance letter from the hospital in Houston - stating they are capable. Being preggy alone isn't enough reason. 1 Like 1 Share |
