MrBigiman: Before you can touch any Johesu member, many greedy resident physicians will be members of kirikiri and Kuje. Physicians introduced strike into the health sector and have killed many patients starting from the military regime. Your current minister of health also took part in the butchery as a leader of resident physicians. In saner climes it would have been scandalous to even consider him a nominee for a ministerial post. You can't keep your right to strike but will not be allowed to deny others same. 1 Like |

ozo13:You are correct for the pay during internship and housejob, lemme now breakdown the salary scale at the point of entry post NYSC for you, A physiotherapist earn 151000(25000 is the call allowance) a fresh doctor start with 249000(I knt say specifically wat d call allowance is) but all oda allowances are equal such as hazard and teaching as d case may be, d dff in dt salary scale is 64%, wat johesu want is 20% increament so awa salary can be 191000 wc is still 32% lesser dn a doctors own, and they keep shouting we want equal pay... Now base on the present salary scale for a physiotherapist, pharmacist or lzab scientist to earn dt 249000 of a fresh doctor you mst use atleast 10years in civil service, all wat johesu want is jst 20% of salary across CONHESS salary scale dtz all and NMA kip shouting equality. The issue of skipping is still there for doctors to enjoy and no Phyio, pharmacist is allow to reach the post of a Director in there own field till dey retire wat we get to is Deputy or Assistant Director. Another issue is d issue of professional autonomy and specialty, I will leave dz 4 now.... |

phase1:you dont get why NMA is pissed, do you? it is not the matter of the strike itself, afterall they have the right to strike. It is the fact that when doctors are striking, they dont drag JOHESU into their demands and negotiations, but when JOHESU is striking, they are busy comparing themselves with us. it is the greatest insult, and you guys expect NMA not to react? |
Re: JOHESU Summons Emergency Meeting Over Court Order - Guardian by Nobody: 6:24am On May 27, 2018 |
AlphaT1 let me demonstrate to you what i know will happen once JOHESU members are given consultancy. i saw this message written from a JOHESU group page. *JOHESU.COM Discussions Activity* *Need to brace up to do the NMAs jobs whenever they are on strike* Dr Kelly Nwagha fpsn 11:48AM in General News & Information We heard that the doctors are doing everyone's job at some hospitals. We should not worry as they have thrown the first stone. We will wait for them. Whenever they go on strike, we will also do their duties, which we are very capable of executing and excellently too, thanks to Pharm D. and consultancy status in other professional cadre, and refer surgical cases only to friendly healthcare facilities. If patent Medicines vendors prescribes and treats patients in their localities and make their money to build 1,2,3,4 attorney buildings, the Pharmacists are there to consult, prescribe and treat with better medicines as the only experts on medicines. The Optometrists are there to handle all eye challenges. The nurses would have to add to their curriculum Nurse practitioners course to enable them prescribe medications for patients. The Laboratory scientists are always there to assist with the diagnosis. The Radiographers are there as well. What s it that we don't have. The Physiotherapists nko? All on our side. Dental technicians are d people that do the work of the dentists and even do it better. Its only Surgical procedure only That we will refer as I said earlier. Period. *copied* |

funmisticqueen:In federal hospitals, houseofficers earn approx 165k it was recently adjusted to 175k, state hospitals normally pay 20k less same with interns pay dt is approx 120k but no adjustment was done nd still earn 20k lesser dn dt in state |

funmisticqueen: Actually you dragged Johesu into your demands whenever you strike. You sat with the minister of health and labor during your last strike action there and then determined how much Johesu should be paid without the input of any Johesu representative. How can you shave a man's head in his absence? |

funmisticqueen: wow, so it actually it takes 7 different professional to carryout doctors work, wow indirectly doctors are 7 in 1.. even at that, all the above are just theory, wen patient comes, then let them practiclize the diagnose , like they think malaria and typhoid ll b the only reason patient come to hospital such a deluded union... beside, aside proper diagnose , I think they should also upgrade to have surgery johesuite too. some should further their study study only to O &G Neurosurgery cadiothoracic some to nephrology ENT etc. such deluded being.. dead on arrival theory 1 Like |

Re: JOHESU Summons Emergency Meeting Over Court Order - Guardian by AlphaT1(m): 9:52am On May 27, 2018 |
funmisticqueen:Quoting someone who is making no reasonable point is no demonstration of any fact. Consultancy cadre for JOHESU has been in practice in Niger state for more than three years now and there has been no single case of patient confusion or a JOHESite pretending to be a doctor. I have well travelled and I have seen what is obtainable in other climes, i do not argue based on sentiment. Again, it's the govt dat would design d job description for d cadre and not JOHESU so an opinion of a sentimental JOHESite is a no demonstration of fact Likewise a sentimental opinion of a NMA member. These are mere ego-rooted opinions. Just like dat bias JOHESite opined that they can do d work of doctors, the same goes for the doctors who also say they can do the job of others-these kinds of myopic reasoning are found only in Nigeria and that is why we are where we are today with the worst health indices in the world. The healthcare system cannot improve with these kinds of stange practice alien to international best practice. I hope you are not one of those doctors that believe they are all-knowing and above errors/mistakes (it will limit ur growth if you are one). A humble house officer, for instance learns faster than those arrogant ones. Where you are not so sure of certain dosage, dosage form, strength or brand, the pharmacist is there to quickly help out. My cousin (F) who is asthmatic was prescribed cocodamol by a consultant O&G but on getting to d pharmacy, d pharmacist spotted ventolin inhaler and cocodamol tab on same prescription, he called d attention of the consultant who eventually changed it to celebrex. No human is all-knowing and no human is above errors no matter how intelligent you are, and committing an error does not reduce your intelligence. Two good heads are surely better than one. Team work gives better outcome, makes the work easier, faster and less stressful. This is d norm in saner climes. You cannot continue to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result. This was the kind of strange argument that NMA had put forward for years suppressing others to the rank of deputy director, no non-medical doctor was allowed to get to the peak of his/her career (director) that if you have other directors (like director of nursing services, director of pharm. services etc) it will confuse the patient with the Medical Director. JOHESU went to court and won the case just few yrs ago, now you have these directors in the hospitals, have you ever heard of patient being confused or any of the directors pretending to be the Medical Director? You are probably not a civil servant, you would understand that there is almost no way that a pharmacist, for instance, would pretend to be a doctor in a public hospital setting and get away with it easily. Where is he going to consult from, his office? And with which folder? How is he going to admit? How is he going to get paid? How would he charge the patient? Even a first time patient would ask the gatemen where to go first not to talk of regular patients that know the procedure very well. You mentioned rural settings, professions like MLS, pharmacist etc do not operate at primary healthcare level, you find them from secondary level (like general hospitals) which is also very organized with SOPs. Just so you know, I have a postgraduate diploma in Leadership and Management in Health (USA) so I am not here to fight JOHESU vs NMA fight. If you need to know the standard world over, I would give you d design. 3 Likes |

We also know they think they are the only relevant part of JOHESU. settle your internal issue first, before coming to compare yourselves with doctors |

funmisticqueen: You don't even sound lettered but read this.... 'Med lab scientists were the only ones paid call allowance from 1976 to 1981 which made MLS the most paid hospital staff. A post NYSC graduate in admin/accounts was paid N345 per month, medical doctor was N350, while a med lab scientist was N545 because of the call duty. (It was N10 per call to a maximum of 20 units payable only to MLS). Call for medical doctors was introduced sometime in 1983 and it was N12 per call. This raised the take home pay of fresh medical doctors to N590 per month. This was the situation until 1991 when Prof Olikoye Ransom Kuti introduced MSS salary structure which led to severe crisis in the health sector. Several court judgements in favour of the Unions/AMLSN including SSAUTHRAI have not been implemented.' Copied.. 1 Like |

funmisticqueen: You sound illiterate and demented, anyway in Nigeria any buffoon can be a physician as long the parent has connection and money. I know a former CMD in one of our teaching hospitals who smuggled all his academically challenged female kids into medical school. Paying lecturers to write exams for them and secretaries to fill course forms for them. The kids go late to school from home everyday even though they go with a hilux full of sirens-blaring police escorts everyday. How do you expect those kids not to be empty-skulled physicians like you when they graduate? Go ask your superiors (the ones sincere enough )to tell you who started call duties first between Scientists and physicians in 1976? |
